My boot camp experience !
So since I've joined SBC Fellows, I have learned so much. There is a whole world out there filled with techies and I have found a new passion. What we are doing is basically learning a new language such as Java Script, HTML, cookie.js, etc. Learning with John,Sam, and Micky, have been amazing! Because of them, I have been introduced to awesome and talented people who have changed my perspective about technology and computer science.
When we went to the Essence Festival, I met so many people who I thought I would have never met. I met different people from Facebook and Google and people from different organizations all over the country I also introduced to people of all ages who have been coding since they were 5. this experience has been absolutely amazing and I look forward to the completion of the boot camp and the following years afterwards.
lots of coding...and coding...and the best thing about it is coding
BOOTCAMP FOR ME? YEZZ.
When i first started off I have to admit I had a lot to learn about coding even though it was familiar to me. I really like the setting and the people. they are smart, hilarious, and awesome people. I like the idea of coding. Its educating, fun, and very interesting.it massages my brain and also hurts it sometimes but its cool.
Being at this camp is a very good experience for my present and my future. I like being here, even though i'm quiet and barely say " Ninja Turtles." for the talkative side of me but i really like the wierdness of the class. It is great being at the bootcamp. I DONT CARE! I LOVE IT!
Bootcamp started out with this TED Talk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MgBikgcWnY&feature=kp
In this video, Josh Kaufman states that it only takes 20 hours to gain basic proficiency at any skill. I think a lot of people are familiar with the concept from Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers that it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something, but Josh Kaufman disputes this idea in this talk. Pretty interesting stuff, so check it out! (spoiler alert: there's a cool song at the end).
The idea that we can become real coders with 20 hours of dedicated effort has been a motivating factor to push us to learn Javascript and Node.js. With this in mind, we all feel empowered to take down the world one line of code at a time.
WHAT BOOTCAMP HAS BEEN LIKE FOR ME
Summer boot camp is really awesome. I find that i fancy developing way more than i thought after joining this camp. I am really appreciative to John for inviting me. I met lots of cool people and i'm learning a lot here. This camp has opened my eyes to the world of developing. I've gotten the chance to meet people from Google, Facebook, and lots of other boot camps. I see now what it means to be a developer from the lessons and from the speakers that come in. It's really truly awesome to be here.

My experience at bootcamp
It is very cool, I've learned a lot at bootcamp. I've been to #essencefest talking to other coders. I also talked to a former alumnus about html tagging. It is #awesome
