Here are the Monocoque and engine just before they will be joined. There will be many small and tedious electrical connections to make as well as fuel, oil, and instrument connections.  I'm working off of many reference photos that I found in the interwebz.  I applied a light brown wash over the engine and transmission to make it appear "used" and a bit dirty. It also help's to bring out some detail.

Here is an update on the Ferrari 312T4.  Just test fitting the side pods with the engine and monocoque. Many parts here have been made from scratch such as the rear brake lines and the battery brackets. The fuel tubing was colored by injecting tinted paint thinner through the lines. The blue tape on the fuel tank is to protect the bare metal PE that has been applied to the sides.

This is my current project, the Ferrari 312T4 in 1/12 scale by Tamiya. I am building this kit using the Tamiya PE set and another one that has the cockpit sides and top in PE that I found on eBay.  I used Allcrad paints and the Metalizer paints from Testors.  I started this kit in the middle of November 2013 and am going all out as far as detailing goes.

This is my 1/20 McLaren M23.  I didn't go all out on the detailing on this car.  1/12th scale kits are about my limit as for as super detailing goes. I did use the Tamiya PE set for this and aftermarket decals.

Here is the finished model.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. The rigging was done with stretched sprue and is not complete as it was pretty difficult and I was burned out at that point. This was my test model to see if I wanted to build 1/350th ships and deal with the small details and PE required for such a project.  Building the German Navy of WWII is on the list now.

Here are details of the superstructure.  The PE is from Eduard and was my first foray into 1/350th PE…  it was a bit of a challenge and caused a fair amount of swearing!  The deck has been painted dark grey and has been masked off. the model is ready to paint at this point.

The intake grates one the 2nd funnel were cast in and didn't match the forward ones.  I made a mold of the forward grates with RTV then cast new ones with resin.  Here you see the new resin cast grates applied to the 2nd funnel.  Much better looking.

This is my 1/350th Arleigh Burke. The Trumpeter kit has an error in that the hanger is about 0.8 inches too short and needs to be extended.  Also, the pad eyes on the hull were way too big so I removed them and replaced them with smaller plastic rivets.

This is my 1/35 scale PAK 40 from the DML kit.  It's a pretty simple model and was a quick build. I'll post completed pics of it later.

This is my completed Panzer IV built from the 1/35 Dragon kit.  Nothing too fancy as far as the build goes. I did spend quite a bit of time on the weathering which was done with Mig pigments and washes.
