FIYERO HAS MOVED TO @starrymused
unelectedofficialâ:
â Iâll have no choice but to do so, â she responded, not knowing how she would react if Elphaba were to show up. Though it was unlikely for her too, a small part of her just wished that she would â even if it was just to apologize for leaving her alone for all those years, for FLYING off with no good reason. Nessarose even just wished she would come back because she missed her. It had been lonely since her father died, and even with Boq by her side she felt helpless and isolated.    To them, Elphaba wasnât the villain. Maybe at first she was, just like she was throughout the rest of Oz. But slowly these people ( who were rumored to be so small-minded ) began to see that Elphaba had done nothing wrong â she had never even come close to where any of them resided. Nessarose had always been the villain ; but Oz wasnât looking for her.    â She wouldnât have an easy time sneaking in here, Iâm sure someone would notice before she even arrived. , â Nessa continued, peering out the window as if trying to imagine what it would be like to see Elphaba out there. She smiled, thinking fondly of her sister for the first time in a while. â We share something in common, you know : neither of us are easy to hide. â   Â
âDo you think so?â Fiyero wouldnât be so sure. Elphaba was gifted in magic and if she needed to make it in here without anyone noticing, then he was certain she would find a way. That was just the kind of person Elphaba was.
Just thinking about her ability to use magic made him wonder if she would ever appear to any of them. To Nessa, Glinda, or himself. Unfortunately, the way he and Glinda had been made to publically denounce Elphaba to the entirety of Oz, Fiyero could understand why she would keep her distance. From her perspective, it truly did seem like her old friends had betrayed her.
And it made his heart ache.
He always made sure not to say the truly awful things that others said simply because he couldnât bear to. He refused to call her wicked or evil and no amount of lectures from Morrible or pleading from Glinda would change his mind.
âWhat do you think of all of this, Nessarose?â Had anyone asked her that since it had all happened? âDo you believe the rumors that people are latching onto?â Some of them were so incredibly far-fetched! According to the Emerald City citizens, Elphaba could shed her skin like a snake and would melt if she came into contact with water. It was preposterous!Â

{ âȘ } â Her shoulders relaxed and she gave a little giggle. The redhead didnât believe he was actually serious about wanting a hair clip, but that didnât mean that she was going to just drop it. Instead, she shifted how she stood and just continued to smile at him.
âDo you have any colors that you like in particular? Or a type of bird even?â
He may have said not to âwasteâ materials on him, but she shook her head at this thought. Her arms crossed over her chest in quite the defiant stance and she gave him a smirk.
âBesides, if I chose to make you a clip, none of my materials would be wasted. Making things for my friends is always worthwhile. Nothing will ever change my mind, either.â
âI like red? And green.â So, what birds were that color? A parrot? Yeah, he thought parrots were pretty cool. They were talkative like him and some of the things they came out with were hilarious! Upon realizing that Bella wasnât going to back down on this, Fiyero laughs and finally gives in.
âOkay, you got me. I kinda want to see this now. A red and green parrot is the thing thatâs appealing to me the most.â It would be interesting to see the process of how she made these accessories. He would love to watch her create them if she allowed it!
unelectedofficialâ:
She winced as he asked the question, a sick feeling enveloping her. Her mouth turned dry and the words were hard to find. His tone of voice was so calm â Nessarose knew the answer he wanted ; an answer that ( no matter how much she wanted to ) couldnât give him.    â I havenât spoken to her, â she replied, pain in her voice. Her eyes stung, trying to hold the tears in. Lip trembling, all she wanted to do was cover her face until the guard left. Still, she watched out of the corner of his eye each time he moved in closer to look at something better.    Nessa always knew that her sisterâs actions would come back to haunt her in the end. It made sense, after all, that the two would continue to help each other in their adult lives as they did in their youth. Truthfully, Nessa thought thatâs how it would end up too â if Elphaba hadnât run, it might have been.    â I think youâve looked plenty enough, â she announced, anxious about the boy being there, free to look through everything as she watched with no ability to stop him. It was now that she wished the servant had stayed, just to lighten the mood. At this point, the Munchkins were more of her friends than anyone else. Once school had finished, she didnât see the people she had thought of as friends. Except Boq of course ; he had stayed. Glinda, deciding to move to the Emerald City, had promised to visit, so long as work allowed. It seemed that still, many years later, work hadnât allowed her to take a few days off. Even seeing Fiyero here today was an unexpected occurrence ( though she doubted he would stop by if he hadnât been ordered ).    Maybe she just needed to face the fact that her friends had outgrown her. Theyâd moved on from her â their duty had ended as soon as they graduated, and she was passed on to the next person to take care of her. After all their years of fun, it hurt to know that only Boq had truly taken interest in her and even her relationship with him seemed to be on its last legs these days.
He was expecting such a response. It still hurt, though. Fortunately, Fiyero had always been rather good at keeping his true emotions beneath the surface and today was no different. Fixing his face into a neutral expression, he continues to poke around. There really wasnât anything here, was there? It was all just Munchkinland business that he had no right to look into.
So, what now? Did he just leave? It had been years since he last saw Nessarose. Could he really ask her about how her life was and the position she was now in? All of that seemed so personal now. They were now living in circumstances that seemed a world away from the students they had once been. Back in the beginning, all they had to worry about were their classes and silly popularity contests. In a way, Fiyero wanted to go back to that. Even just for a day.
Finally turning back to Nessarose, he straightens once again. âYou will contact me if you hear anything, wonât you?â That wasnât exactly what he had wanted to say. He did want to ask about how she had been spending her days, but it felt like it would come across as awkward small talk. âI would really appreciate the cooperation.â But he couldnât reveal that he had no desire to capture Elphaba. That would ruin the facade he had spent years creating.

{ âȘ } â âI get some weird requests for certain. Iâm happy to do it as long as theyâre willing to pay the price for whatever weird intricacies they want⊠After all, itâs good practice for other stuff, too.â
She shrugged her shoulders and smiled at him. It was nice to have someone who was so easy going⊠She liked talking to him quite a bit! Indeed, she could make him most any type of hair clip he wanted⊠She was just trying to figure out what she could make. Humming contentedly, she tilted her head to one side.Â
âWhat sort of clip would you want? I could probably see you with some sort of flower, honestly. I think that would look nice. Or a bird, maybe? Since youâre quite the free spirit.â
Bella was being absolutely serious. At this point, a lot of her playful attitude had left her in favor of a more thoughtful air. Now, her mind was swimming with all sorts of ideas.Â
He laughs and shakes his head. He wasnât being serious! âI was only messing around! Your time and effort should be spent on way more important people.â Like customers who actually wanted to use her services for proper reasons.
âIâm sure you would do a fantastic job, but donât waste any materials on me.â It was sweet of Bella to think about different ideas, though. Fiyero tilts his head. âBut if I were to get one, a bird would be cool.â It certainly would fit his âfree spiritâ attitude.
âBut, no, seriously. Donât worry about it. Iâll just have to deal with floppy hair.â

The Tin Man nodded and followed suit, gently laying the girl and dog down in the shade.
He was right. If they just strode into the city, they would all be separated, interrogated, and who knows what else.
âEspecially after what she did to the witch oâthe governess.â The way he said the word was acerbic. As H E A R T L E S S as he was, he strove not to feel ill towards others. After all, without a heart he had to be extra cautious. But things were different when they came to Nessa. What she had done to him.

âDo you reckon theyâll wake up soon enough now that weâre out of the flowers?â
Fiyero felt like he had heard the story too many times to count now, but he still didnât believe it. Tin said that the âwitchâ (he hated calling her that) had forced Nessa to turn him into the being he was today. He couldnât be certain about what really happened back then, but he completely believed that Elphaba would never intentionally hurt anyone.
He decides not to answer and instead pays attention to his query. âI donât see why not. It seems as if a spell had been cast over the poppies and they were designed to put anyone who passes through into a stupor. Itâs logical to think that it would be reversed once we were out of range.â And yet it hadnât worked on the two of them. That was rather odd.
âDo you think it failed to work on the two of us because of the spells weâve already been under?â He had since decided that Elphaba must have cast a spell on him while he was in the cornfield. There was no other way he would still be alive if she hadnât.

This callout! Fiyero laughs and hugs his kids back, squeezing them both. âWe promise the triplets are the last of them!â They hadnât known that they would be getting three more! They just thought it would be great to have another one and had gotten busy! Now, they had three on the way and, while it was overwhelming, it was exciting, too.
âCome join us, darling.â He gestures Elphaba over. âWeâll have a family group hug right now.â With all seven of them!

She tried to put any fear out of mind. He was here to find Elphaba â which was impossible. Nessarose doubted that he ( or whoever had sent him here ) would believe her if she told them that she, in fact, hadnât seen her sister for years. In this particular case, Fiyero had seen her last of the two of them. Memories now flooded her brain, bringing back the days of her youth. When, for those few months, there had been a solid group of friends for her to rely on. They had bonded throughout their years of school and formed connections that, at the time, they thought would last forever.    Yet here the governess was, years later, feeling nervous about reacquainting herself with the captain. Undoubtedly, heâd heard of her tactics for running the place. Would he think different of her as everyone else did ? It was likely, though he couldnât possibly know the full extent of her cruelty. A Munchkin in uniform nodded at her before routinely holding out a mirror for her to check her appearance in. In one swift motion, she smoothed the top of her hair and gestured for the door to be opened.    It wasnât a grand entrance, though it was unnecessarily dramatic. The Munchkin instinctively bowed his head before leaving the two of them together. Her father had liked the idea of an inflated work space, saying it gave the impression of importance or expanded how the mind decided to think. Nessarose, however, thought the over-sized nature of each room could sometimes be too much ; like how now, two old friends stayed ten feet away from each other â neither daring to move an inch closer.    â We both know why youâre here, â she said, breaking the almost unbearable silence that filled the mostly empty study. Nessa took a deep breath, eyes finally looking in the direction of her old classmate. He had changed from his days as a carefree student. Now he stood stiffer, face focused on the task at hand. A task that puzzled the governess beyond belief. Of anyone â of ANY guard, would Fiyero know that she had nothing for him to discover ?     â Youâre not going to find anything here, donât you know that ? â Nessa had nothing to hide â but she also felt nervous with him here. Dressed in a slick uniform with the sides adorned with weapons and tools, he was INTIMIDATING. She kept her distance still, unsure if it was from fear or the feeling that somehow the room held information that would help them find Elphaba that even she didnât know about.    â But if theyâve ordered you to look â go ahead, â she said while motioning around the room, granting him permission to do the job he would inevitably end up doing. Surely theyâd provided a warrant, but giving the permission herself made the whole situation seem a bit better.    Â
Of course Nessarose knew why he was here, but he didnât automatically jump into questioning. There was a way to go about this meeting â this reunion â and he wanted to at least try to remain on her good side. Yes, he had heard the rumors of how she governed Munchkinland, but he didnât know what to believe. Why would Nessarose turn cruel?
âPerhaps, but I have to look.â Even the slightest clue to where Elphaba might be was better than nothing at all. Glad that he had her permission instead of being forced to search while she objected, Fiyero scanned the area. When anything of interest caught his eye, he examined it closer.Â
He could feel her gaze on him.
âI wanted to ask if you have had any contact with Elphaba since her disappearance.â He dreaded her answer and held onto the hope that she would announce that she had recently spoken with her sister. If Elphaba was going to appear to anyone, it would be her.
âIf you have, you need to tell me.â He made sure to say it without coming across as threatening because it wasnât a threat. It was a plea for her to reveal any information that she might have. Any kind of information would be helpful.
fiyero tiggular is that one guy who acts like a fuckboy but actually really cares about his grades and wants to be a good guy but doesnt know how to tell the popular girl hes expected to date and all his friends that he really just likes the green chick tbh
Yes. Right up until the point where he lies to Glinda for years, pits the girls against each other and ruins their friendship, manipulates Elphaba (âno one can know if we want them to be safeâ), and leaves Glinda to believe that all her friends have been murdered because of her, all just so he can be with the green chick. Who, by the way, he shows no signs of actually caring for beyond a superficial level.
I know this is a super old post, but I just had to express my own thoughts on this because I feel too many people completely misinterpret Fiyeroâs character.
He lies to Glinda for years? What is he lying about? He got in a relationship and tried to make it work, but he fell in love with another woman? Yeah, that sucks, but it doesnât make him a horrible person. Anyway, Glinda was scheming with Morrible and keeping him out of the loop about things. He didnât even know about his own damn engagement until Morrible and Glinda announced it to Oz. But I guess weâre just going to ignore her lying to him because itâs just not that important, I guess?
He doesnât pit the girls against each other and ruin their friendship. First of all, if a guy could come along and ruin a friendship, then maybe it wasnât so strong to begin with. If anything ruined their friendship, it was Glinda telling the Wizard and Morrible to target Nessarose in order to get to Elphaba. Now, yes, sheâs sad that Fiyero chose to run away with Elphaba, but thatâs a low blow. She made her own decision about that. Fiyero gave Glinda the opportunity to come with him to find Elphaba and she refused. He also told Elphaba that she and Glinda would make up. Anyway, this argument just sounds like Fiyero should have just forced himself to stay with Glinda even though he was unhappy and so deeply in love with someone else. People break up with people and move on! Itâs how life works!Â
And leaving Glinda to believe that Elphaba had been murdered and manipulates Elphaba into leaving? First of all, as if Elphaba would even allow herself to be manipulated! Thatâs underestimating her character immensely! Them leaving Oz was to keep her safe from everyone who wanted to hunt her down. The entirety of Oz was against her and leaving would be her only chance at living a safe and perhaps even a happy life. Anyway, if Elphaba really didnât want to leave, she wouldnât have. Again, to say that she would just go along with something that she didnât agree with is underestimating her. She has shown throughout the entire story that she is her own woman who is strong and has her own opinions. If she absolutely didnât want to leave, she wouldnât have. This was their best option and she knew it.
To say that Fiyero showed no signs of caring about Elphaba beyond a superficial level is just plain wrong. Yes, because he would have committed treason and SACRIFICED HIS LIFE and was tortured for her if he only cared about shallow reasons. Also, he became Captain of the Gale Force just so he could find her bearing in mind that he had no ambitions while he was in school. Getting that job would have been difficult and yet he did it solely for Elphaba. The whole point of Fiyeroâs character is that he pretends heâs shallow, but Elphaba calls him out on it. She can see beyond that facade to the man he is beneath. Anyway, if he only cared about how a woman looked, wouldnât he have stayed with Glinda? Sheâs considered more beautiful by societyâs standards, right? They could have become this âpower coupleâ and all of Oz would have lavished them in adoration. It would have been a shallow manâs dream! But no. He throws that life away and chooses a life on the run with Elphaba because heâs in love with her. And heâs in love with her for who she is. Heâs in love with her intelligence and her kindness and her ability to stand up for what she believes in. Yes, he finds her beautiful, but that isnât all he sees.
And surprise, itâs all about ship wars again, isnât it? Gelphie shippers absolutely have the right to ship their ship, but Fiyeraba shippers have the right to ship theirs, too. Not to mention that Fiyeraba is canon. Thatâs how it was. But even if you donât ship it, do not make up things about Fiyeroâs character and bring him down just to try and justify why he shouldnât be with Elphaba. Itâs just plain lies.
They shouldn't have been studying in her dorm. Who cares if it was raining? They could've gone somewhere else! With Galinda gone, it was just her, Fiyero, books, and her bed. And when he kissed her, those books disappeared. Guilt temporarily suspended, Elphaba couldn't help herself; he wanted her and She couldn't let the opportunity go. She covered him in marks from her nails and teeth, greedy and ravenous as she rocked over him, FINALLY allowing herself to selfishly indulge. "Fiyero--!"
There had been no ulterior motive behind the kiss. It had just happened. And now they were going further than he imagined and his head was a mess that made it difficult to think clearly. Elphaba was on him and he could do nothing but grip her hips and guide her as she rode his cock.
Despite rumors saying otherwise, this was unlike him. To do this while technically sort of with another woman? Had they made it official beyond the casual dates here and there and hanging out at school? No. That didnât mean that he didnât feel guilty about it.
But he so completely attracted to Elphaba and he couldnât resist her. He was into the way she stood up to him and called him out when it needed to be done. And he admired her strength and boldness to do what was right even if it turned everyone against her. She was everything that he wished he could be.
With those thoughts in mind, Fiyero shoves her back on the bed and parts her legs. Holding them in his grip, he lines himself up to her slit again and fills her once more. Kissing her roughly, his hands roam her body, groping at hips and breasts while he pumps into her. It was hard to keep his mind thinking in a sensible manner when she was quivering and moaning beneath him. If this was the one time they were going to do this (he hoped it wasnât) then he wanted to make it unforgettable. The bed creaks and the headboard smacks against the wall as he claims her again and again.

{ âȘ } â âIf thereâs one thing I understand, itâs thick, unmanageable hair. It suits you, though!â
The grin on her face only continued to shine, her fingers curling against the fabric of her shirt. Compliments came easily to the redhead, always willing to show her affection to anyone willing to accept it. There was a near constant abundance of warmth coming from the woman, simply wishing the world was a slightly kinder place.
His next question, though, caused a pleased expression to shift into one of slight befuddlement. Blinking at him, her head canted to one side and lips pursed into a thin line.
âIâm not after anything! Is it so weird to give a compliment to a new friend?â
A little laugh slipped through her lips before a freckled hand managed to suppress it. The very idea of a sparkly butterfly clip in his hair was incredibly silly!
âIf youâd like a special hair clip, I can certainly try to make you one.â
âOkay! I was just asking!â He laughs, holding his hands up. Sometimes he liked to tease! Completely and utterly harmless! Still grinning, he shrugs in that casual way he was known for. If he was any more laid-back, he may as well be horizontal.
âI could rock a hair clip and you know it. Doesnât matter how pretty or glittery; Iâll own it.â Now he was interested to see if Bella really would make him one. It would be cool to see how she created her little accessories and trinkets.
âDo you get special requests for that kind of thing? Do people ask for really weird things? Like, strange headpieces and over-the-top accessories?â He knew that people liked to dress up when they attended high-class parties. It was like they were all trying to outdo each other.
impracticalheartâ:
âI donât want us splitting up. We have a child with us. If we get this girl to the wizard, maybe he can get her home.âÂ
He followed closely, looking back as he did so.
âYou donât suppose anyoneâs listening to us right?â He had known from experience that even the trees seemed to have ears.Â
It was how the witch of the east the governor found out about his whereabouts.Â
âI donât know who to trust anymore.â He said quietly, adjusting his grip on the sleeping girl, making sure not to drop her or the dog. He had already beheaded a wildcat that had come after them. He certainly didnât want any more blood on his hands.
âAnd we will, but not while sheâs like this. How suspicious do you think it will be for us to walk into the Emerald City with a young girl who looks to be unconscious?â Even if she was just asleep, it certainly wasnât something they should be doing. They wouldnât be allowed in and Dorothy might be taken from them.
âLetâs just wait until she and Brrr wake up.â Glancing to the Tin Man as he asks his question, he pauses. âPerhaps.â It wasnât unlikely that someone could be listening in on them. The trees had been a surprise to him, so he was now prepared for anything.
âWeâll wait over here.â Fiyero gestures the other over to the treeline. âOnce these two are awake, weâll continue.â
theoriesofloveâ:
âMy decision still stands. No Grimmerie unless absolutely necessary.â It took a toll on her body, too. He knew that. When he was finished rolling his shoulder, she carefully put her arms around him and hugged him to her. She didnât want to think about losing him. Never, ever, ever.
âFiyero. I want a house,â she said softly. âIt doesnât have to be big. Just a place for us. No more fighting. No more fear.â She closed her eyes, adding more quietly, âMaybe a child someday. MaybeâŠdoes that sound good to you?â
Her words finally bring a smile to his lips. A house that they could call their own. Maybe a child that they could raise to be kind and accepting. He hadnât been sure if Elphaba would ever want all that. He was pleasantly surprised.
âThat sounds perfect.â He admits, leaning back against her. âI want that, too.â He wanted a life with her. One where they could settle down and be safe from all of this fighting. A day like that must be in the future.
He turns his head to kiss her, his hands taking hers as she remained wrapped around him. People always spoke about love and happy endings as if they were living in their own fairy tale, but Fiyero had thought all that was silly. Now he knew what those people meant.Â
âWeâll make it through. Together.â
theoriesofloveâ:
âNo,â Elphaba confessed, although that was clearly more emotional damage than physical fatigue. She crossed the room, expression pained. âYour shoulderâs bleeding.â
Damn her for not having the ability to heal! Only to destroy.
She took a wash cloth from a water basin near his bed â the water was dyed red there, too â and moved to seat herself behind him. Careful, she began to unwrap the bandage.Â
She didnât speak for awhile. Then she said, âQuinton told me what â why they came. Iâm not going to use the grimmerie ever again. I swear it. Weâll keep it locked away somewhere, but ⊠I canât risk doing something awful again.â
âElphaba, you didnât know. Anyway, what choice did you have? These Animals need somewhere to live. They need water and food and a place to call a permanent home. So, you drained a lake and killed some crops in Gillikin country. Okay, it isnât the preferred outcome, but if the Wizard was so concerned, he would help them himself.â Gillikin country was rich, too. He was sure they could manage.
âI wonât listen to you blame yourself. Youâre doing so much good and weâre all very grateful for it.â Fiyero knew that she didnât see all the good things she did, so he would continuously remind her until she realized.
Once she had changed his bandage, he turns to press a kiss to her wrist. âThank you. Itâs worse than it looks. I donât want you to worry about it.â With slow movements, he rolls his shoulder so that it didnât become stiff.Â
theoriesofloveâ:
Something was spinning in the distance. Elphaba couldnât quite tell what it was. It was a structure, for certain, but it was so high up in the air and without any foundation â
The wind was blowing so hard.
It almost stole her breath away and she struggled to stay upright, looking around for something or someone familiar. She saw their faces: Doctor Dillamond, Galinda, Nessarose⊠blurs across her vision, gone in an instant, and yet so very vibrant in her memory. The expressions so strong that they had left an afterimage in her memory.
Pleading, panic. Horror, betrayal. Mindless emptiness.
She had Fiyero, but that didnât mean she wanted to save them any less even now. This place she had built was a paradise. A safe haven. If only they could â
A shout startled Elphaba awake, but she was relieved to recognize it as something of a celebration. She sat up, rubbing at her eyes to rid them of the last clings of fatigue. She had never slept so deeply before; she wouldnât have been surprised if she had been like that for days!
ââshould have seen him! No wonder he was the Captain of the guard! Those soldiers didnât stand a chance!â
What? Soldiers? What soldiers? Hoping she was just overhearing someone playing pretend, Elphaba scrambled to her feet and out of the tent. Before her thoughts could even turn back to Fiyero, she stared, horrified at the battleworn Animals that were sitting around, each getting treatment. They looked pleased, but â
âWhat happened?â she demanded, voice louder and perhaps a bit angier (it was out of panic!) that she intended. The Animals within range visibly flinched at her tone, and suddenly Quinton â with a cut along his jaw! â was rushing up, gently guiding her back into the tent.
âItâs all right, Elphaba, Iâll tell you.â
âWhereâs Fiyero?!â
âHeâs fine. Everythingâs fine, please. Just allow me to explain.â
âItâs my fault.â
âNo it isnât, Elphaba.â
âIt is!â she insisted, hands running through her hair. Her heart was pounding. âI brought their wrath upon you â with this â that stupid book!â She shot a glare to where it lay by her bedside and was half-tempted to set it aflame â but she did not. Something stopped her.
ââI wonât use it again,â she turned back to Quinton, body trembling. âNever. Weâll keep it here if only to keep it from anyone else! But I canât. We have our foundation, Quinton, weâll have to make do with what we have.â
âThatâs all right,â the Rabbit assured her, nodding. âNo one liked what it was doing to you anyway, Elphaba. Weâll be fine with what we have. And for all their complaining, so will the people of Oz. If a natural disaster had caused it ââ
âI am a natural disaster,â she interrupted, waving a dismissive hand. âIâ itâs fine. Whatâs done is done. Where is Fiyero?â
âHeâs being patched up by Miss Flatfeather,â Quinton explained, and repeated at her expression, âHeâs fine, Elphaba. They only got a shot off in his shoulder ââ
âHe was shot?!â Her voice cracked. No, she didnât need an answer â she was already elbowing past him. Crossing the way, weaving around the other Animals until she found her destination. Flatfeather wasnât there, but Fiyero was, now quietly resting on a cot.
âFiyero,â That faraway expression broke her heart. He wasnât the type to kill, and yet he had been forced to do so. And he knew them. They were nothing to the Animals, but âÂ
âFiyero, Iâm so sorry.â She wanted to go to him, but a thought crossed her mind and rooted her to the spot: What if he hates me for putting him into such a situation? What if he regretted everything? Oh, Oz, she couldnât stand that â
He hadnât realized that someone was in the tent with him until Elphabaâs voice cuts through the silence. Raising his eyes, Fiyero stares for a moment before shaking his head.
âIt isnât your fault. It was bound to happen.â He had actually been lucky to make it this far without taking another life. It didnât mean that he viewed it as a positive experience; he wouldnât wish that situation on anyone. After a stretch of silence, he continues.
âI tried to talk them down. I gave them a chance. They didnât take it.â The fools. They could have lived and returned to their homes. To their families. It wasnât his problem that they valued the war and the Wizardâs orders over their lives and their loved ones.
That was on them.
The wound on his shoulder was properly wrapped, but blood was beginning to ooze through the bandages. Miss Flatfeather said that she would come back to properly stitch the gash once she acquired the materials from the other side of camp.
âI didnât want to involve you in it.â She had been through enough and he had been confident in his abilities to handle it. Fingers curl in the sheet that was spread beneath him on the cot. Finally, he looks back and beckons her closer.
âCome sit down.â He knew that she might be hesitant for a number of reasons. Elphaba was the first to blame herself in any situation, but Fiyero wouldnât stand for that. âAre you feeling any better?â
