One side of Dom’s mouth threatened to curl into a cruel smirk of amusement. He preferred his company sharp tongued and rough around the edges. “I don’t have an office lady,” he said, voice almost mocking, even as he tried to figure out exactly who it was she’d spoken to. All signs pointed to Sean’s little sister– firecracker that she was– and he made a mental note to get her back for it later. She liked to make it known she didn’t appreciate being left out of club meetings and today that apparently included creating a clusterfuck he’d have to sort out.
Her question drew his attention back to her, deadened eyes sliding over her features with boredom. “Yeah. I spent it working. It’s almost like other people exist and drive cars that need fixing.” His bored eyes shifted to the truck she pointed out. He’d looked the car over earlier, the scrape not so deep that he thought it’d need more than a wet sanding– maybe a little paint touch-up– but there was no way he could have it done by tonight. “Gonna at least need until tomorrow. Maybe longer depending on how bad it is. You’re welcome to take it around to another shop who might have a faster turnaround.” Good luck finding one still open, his almost-smirk seemed to say.

Scarlett analyzed the man as he spoke. Hoping somewhere in the deep deep pits of her stomach that was lying and she was hoping that he was and she wasn’t played for a fool earlier, however, the more he spoke despite his retched tone she believed him, and small ounce of panic set in her fingertips, before it drove upwards. “Oh yeah?” She said, brow rose, arms crossed over her chest, “funny,” she paused, but she didn’t give him a chance to speak, “because that truck looks like it’s in the exact same spot I left it in.” She maybe didn’t drive it in, but she was going to be dramatic until her last breath so why stop now? “Oh come on.” The brunette groaned, “it’s not that bad.” She had to fight every fiber of her being not to roll her eyes to the back of her skull, “why on god’s green earth is it going to take you until tomorrow?”
