Hiiii scarlett, I absolutely LOVE your series, its genuinely my favorite genshin fanfic and one of my favorite fanfics in general (and I’ve read a loooot). So I just wanted to ask a few questions and I hope you can asnwer, but if you can’t due to spoilers or something, that’s totally ok.
First I want to tell you that I love the new direction you’re taking the series in – I know it must have taken a lot of thought after you already had a planned ending. Even though I’m sure your original plan would’ve still been amazing, I like this a lot more. I think it’s really fitting to have Mondstadt characters come back for the finale, since Mondstadt represents freedom and its characters have played an important role in the story and in Mila’s life. I’ll admit I did wonder what happened to them and if they’ll make an appearance while you were writing the og waters of sorrow. So yeah I’m extremely excited that we’re gonna see them again!
So my main question (and I understand if you can’t answer) is: will there be multiple endings? Like one where Mila leaves Childe, one where she stays with him etc. Honestly can’t decide which one sounds better, since I lowkey hate Childe, he literally abused Mila, buuuut on the other hand unfortunately sympathise with him and want to see him have a happy ending with Mila ARGHHHH. He manipulated me ahahahahahaha
Next I wanted to ask whether we’ll see Kazuha again, I’m aware we probably won’t tbh but I have hope💔. Yeah actually now that I think about it he prob wouldnt fit in the story since it’s centered around Diluc and Mondstadt but it would be a blessing if we could at least get a mention of him🙏 of course that’s your choice though. I’m just biased since Kazuha is one of my favorite characters in this series (along with Father haha)
Anddddd I was wondering if you can tell us what the original plan for the story and ending was 👉👈. If you can’t cuz it would maybe give away spoilers about this ending thats fine, completely understandable, but I was just curious what the og plan was because I do remember some events from the book. Not 100% sure but I think Mila went to Spina di Rosula and attacked Lumine, then got arrested? That was interesting.
Also that bring me to my next point which is not a question, just wanted to say that I hope with MY ENTIRE HEART AND SOUL, that Lumine and Mila will make up🙏🙏🙏 please. I shipped them when they met ahahahaha before Mila started hating on her.
Also, completely unrelated, the song “Ultraviolence” really reminds me of Mila and Childe’s relationship. It’s one of my favorite songs of all time and I happened to listen to it once while reading a chapter when I noticed how it kindaaa fit with them ( I hope I’m not totally wrong and misinterpreting their relationship😭) now whenever I listen to it I remember Mila and Childe. I think you once mentioned somewhere that you had a writing playlist? If you would feel comfortable sharing it I would love to hear it, since I want more songs to associate with these two ahahahahah.

I just wanted to tell you how much I adore your story. I don’t even play Genshin anymore (lost my will to play after the garbage Natlan was bruh) but I still eagerly await every new chapter. I read about Nod Krai lore just in case it comes up in the story lol. A loving promise will always have a special place in my heart, and thank you so much for writing it 💕. I'm glad you like the new direction for the ending! It fits so much better and its honestly a relief that I decided to scratch the old one. It just bothered me so much like damn we had so many characters and it would suck if we didn't use them. In terms of Kazuha, he will definitely be a BIG part of everything, but he won't be an active character unfortunately~ more like, sOMETHING he did will have a lot of impact on the storyline khm khm revealed in next chapter

I wonder what would be the best way to share? Do i make a playlist on youtube? do I just like write out a list of songs? To return to the first question, I didn't plan on multiple endings this time ahahaha so yes a lot more stress for everybody involved. Some scary tags too...
AHEM. Major Character Death.
The original outline did have two possible endings and it was based on whether readers wanted to end up with Childe or not, considering everything. In the first iteration of the finale, both reader and Childe were supposed to end up in the Fortress of Meropide (following the Fontaine archon quest thingy), Childe was supposed to disappear into the Abyss, and reader was gonna have huge paranoia about the prison warden doing something to him. Then reader and the warden (aka Wriothesley) slowly build a mutual understanding and bond, and slowly fall for each other. Wriothesley offers to let her out of the Fortress but to keep her name on record, so that the Fatui think she is still in the prison even though she actually isn't. Then reader could live freely on the surface and hide among Wriothesley's friends (which would be Navia, for example) while the Fatui (and Childe) would be focused on the Fortress of Meropide, thinking she is still there. Canonically, some people choose to stay after they finish serving their sentence, so it would have made sense. This is where the two different endings would be in play, of course, because there would be an ending where reader chooses to leave and return to Childe, and one where she chooses to go along with Wriothesley's idea.
But i just couldn't vibe with it aghh. I'm gonna save that storyline for a possible Wriothesley fic instead ;)
Reader and traveler friendship is like, the shakiest part, definitely going to leave space for A LOT of suprises in the finale.
