“Oh, well, that sounds like a close knit family. Besides, siblings aren’t always as nice as they might sound.” He joked a bit with a laugh. “Erotic cakes? Seems like that should at least be a little interesting. Keeps things from being boring.” 

“Still I always wanted a brother or sister when I was growing up,” Scarlett said with a shrug and then laugh, “I wouldn’t say that’s what makes my job interesting but it’s certainly a change of pace.”

“Oh, don’t have any siblings?” He asked. Shaking his head, he adjusted in his spot before turning his attention to her once more. “No, I want to hear what’s going on in the baking world.” 

“Nope, just me, my mom and my granny,” Scarlett said with a small smile, “Nothing’s really going on. I just have a lot of big orders coming up. Including but not limited to some erotic cakes for hen parties,” She laughed.

“Alright, alright,” Charles chuckled, raising his hands as if in defense before turning his attention to the cookie.

For a few minutes, Scarlett didn’t say anything. She focused on the next batch of cookies and when she was done, she turned her attention back to him, “So how’s school?”

“Honestly? Same old, same old. Yourself?”

“Guess we must be twins because that was what I was gonna say the same thing,” Scarlett said with a laugh.

“Like I’d ever betray you like that,” Nick scoffed dramatically, clutching at his heart for emphasis. “You really think that of me?” At Scarlett’s suggestions, he found himself noting them down mentally with a small smile. “Those all sound pretty good. I just hope she likes the gesture.”

Scar shrugged, “Not really but I like reminding you how scary I can every now and again,” She smiled, “I think she will. If she cares about this as much as you clearly do, I think she’ll just love the fact that you remembered and wanted to celebrate.”

“Well it’s certainly not your fashion sense,” she teased back. “But thanks to me that might change.”

“Rude,” Scarlett replied with a pointed look, “You've been saying that for years and yet you continue to say how much you hate my style.”

“I uhh, I take care of pigs, at the zoo. And they are very particular pigs…”

“Oh!” Scarlett said as realization set in and she laughed, “What do you mean by particular?”

“Only sometimes, but that’s just some brotherly competition for ya’.” He commented with a small laugh. “So anyway! You were talking about baking?” 

“I suppose. I wouldn’t really know,” Scarlett said and then waved dismissively, “Oh, no. We don’t have to talk about that. I was just rambling anyway.”

“I think that is definitely Darcy in your head, I’m not sure you’d make such a comment if it weren’t for her influence.” Judy teased the other, looking at herself in the mirror before turning back to her friend. “Okay, so maybe they do flatter… certain aspects of my body, but when am I going to wear them. Give me three occasions and I’ll seriously consider the purchase.”

“Oh gosh. This shall never be repeated okay?” Scarlett said with a laugh, “You could wear them to a party, on a date and ummm... just for fun?”

“Thank you.” Taylor nearly chirped out, happy that they weren’t out of the flavour. She looked at the girl with a curious expression though as she watched her get the muffin ready for her. “You said you’d be the last person? May I ask why? Believe me, you don’t have to answer me if I’m overstepping. I tend to that a lot.” Taylor added with a small smile.

“I don’t exactly have the best luck with guys,” Scarlett said with a shrug, “Some people might even say I have a shitty taste in guys. Simple as that.”

Woody laughed and nodded his head. “Always have been. Even when my brother was younger, he’d be trying to compete with me in everything we did.” He continued. “And with it being just the two of us now, it’s kind of something that closes the distance between us.” 

“Well that’s good then,” Scarlett said, “As long as it doesn’t get unhealthy competitive.”

“I uhh….i was just rereading the text i was about to send…about the pigs…

“Pigs? What pigs?”

“You think so? Aren’t they a little too- pink and high. I’m not used to wearing anything taller than a sneaker.”

“This might be the Darcy in my head speaking but they totally go with your outfit and they would make your legs look amazing,” Scarlett said, “I love a sneaker as much as the next girl but sometimes you gotta wear a heel.”

“Well I guess I can commend you on your honesty.”

“Is that not what I’m known for? Brutal honesty?” Scarlett teased.

“Maybe I should get cookies or pastries shaped like badges?” he chuckled “Well, we went out for a meal together. Then took a walk and just kind of talked about what everything was like in the police academy before getting to this point. Not sure what kind of permanent present could come from that. Perhaps I could frame the picture we took together that first day? I dunno.”

“If you want those, you just let me know. If you go to another baker, we’re not friends anymore,” Scarlett teased, “Maybe you should take her to the same restaurant. Buy her something nice and give it to her,” She paused, “Or just talk about your highlights as police together.”

“I am certainly holding you to it,” he replied, chuckling as he slid over her beer.

“Thank you,” Scarlett said with a grin, “So Tucker, how’ve you been?”

“Shut up and eat your cookie,” Scarlett said with a teasing smile.
