Judgement.
When given the choice to forgive or to hold onto your anger, know for certain that it is the more powerful person who chooses forgiveness.

I dunno who needs to hear it, but if you're relying on binding spells and hexes to keep yourself safe, that's fine, but a can of mace is basically just extra strength war water and a restraining order is a binding spell that happens to be legally binding as well. Similarly, ash wood is traditional for both wands and baseball bats. Rub some sage on it and hex a motherfucker's kneecaps if that's what keeps you safe.
The world sucks. Do what you gotta.

Here’s the explanation for fellow baby witches
In addition to wands of crystal, wands can be made of a branch from a tree. Each sign of the zodiac is associated with a particular tree, so if you’d like a want compatable with your sign, pick one of the above that lines up with your sign.
If you’re lucky enough to have these trees in your area, use a fallen branch, or ask the spirit of the tree for permission to cut a small branch (you’ll get an overwhelming positive feeling if it’s a yes).
In addition, you can use tree bark, leaves or fallen twigs/branches to decorate your altar. Each sign also corresponds with a planet, so if you have a planetary altar, you can use the correlating wood (I will post a list of these in the future and link it here).
There’s some variation online about which wood types line up with the signs, but the version I used comes from the Book of Spells by Soraya that my mum has had since forever ago for some reason. (I have a sneaking suspicion she used to dabble in witchcraft. Still not gonna tell her though). Since I used to flip through this book, I feel these correlations make sense to me.

Simple Curse to Spot Who Means You Harm
Inspired by and incorporates an old Irish curse
“May those who love us, love us, And those who don’t, May [God] turn their hearts And if not their hearts, may [he] turn their ankles so we’ll know them by their limping”
Inventory: - salt - lemon juice - black pepper - red pepper - 2 paper - red marker - black string - tinted, dark bottle - sigil form of the curse
To Do:
Draw curse sigil on paper with red marker. Recite curse throughout spell, inserting the name of your own god if wanted. Fold sigil up tight as it will go, then unfold once into a bowl/crevice shape. Place paper into a bowl of salt. Sprinkle black and red pepper into paper. Burn sigil paper down to ash, still reciting curse. Once paper is burned, pour salt and every single piece of the paper into bottle. Prepare second piece of paper by lightly soaking in lemon juice until slightly moldable. Form paper into a cap for the bottle and tie down paper with string. Place in a hidden, dark place in a room that people pass through often. Turn in a counterclockwise circle once a week.
Cleanse your work area thoroughly after you’ve hidden the bottle.
What a Shooting Star Means in Traditional Witchcraft
A Banquet in the Skies
According to the old tales, when it is raining, the gods are weeping. When there is thunder, the gods are fighting. And when there is a shooting star, the gods are dancing. A falling star is like wine spilling from their cups. It means the gods are in great mood. So if you pray at this time, you are likely to receive a fortune.
A New Soul is Born
My mother’s family believes that there is a definite number of souls reincarnating in our world. My father’s family disagrees. They say that new souls are still being born. That right after its birth, a new soul rides a star to earth. And that a pregnant woman who sees this falling star is given the privilege to raise not just a human child but an infant soul.
A Soul Leaves Purgatory
The Catholic witches in my community tell a very different story. They believe that a shooting star is a soul exiting purgatory. That the Holy Trinity grants them light and flight, to show other trapped souls – both in purgatory and on earth – that they too can have such freedom if they are willing to do the work.
A Grieving God
Humans light a candle for a loved one who has passed. So do the old gods. Every now and then, they form a special bond with a mortal child. And in my family’s belief, when that soul reincarnates, it is unlikely to have the same faith, much less the same divine parent. And so the god sends down a candle to say farewell.
A God’s Promise
Speaking of the gods’ favorite children, we believe that a pagan witch catching sight of a shooting star means our divine parent is saying yes to whatever it is we asked. More abundance… new love… an enemy’s demise… A falling star carries with it the words: “Be patient one more day. Your wish is on the way.”
