Captain America: The Winter Soldier was released on April 4th, 2014 by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Entertainment as the sequel for the Captain America trilogy and the ninth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With a story combining 1970s conspiracy fiction and Ed Brubaker’s Winter Soldier comic book arc, the film became one of Marvel’s most critically acclaimed and well-received films. The film was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 87th Academy Awards and actor Chris Evans won Favorite Action Movie Star at the 41st People’s Choice Awards.
