Jin and Xiaoyu's Son
Guys, hear me out. I saw a picture of s2 Jordan Li and thought "What if Jin and Xiaoyu's child looked something like this?"
I came up with this whole scenario where they have a son, but Xiaoyu died because of being caught in some kind of crossfire between Jin and Heihachi or Kazuya, or both. Jin was obviously distraught, but loved their son. (The setting is before Tekken 8, and I guess 7 to some degree)
I don't have a name for him, but Xiaoyu means 'little rain', so I figured it would sort of be the opposite, or something weather related as well. Raoxu is what I've chosen.
Jin raised Raoxu in secret, or out of the spotlight as best as he could. Raoxu was constantly protected, and Jin was incredibly controlling in regards to who Raoxu could be friends with, and kept a close eye on people he personally hired to take care of Raoxu.
Jin does everything he can to make sure that Raoxu doesn't resemble him. It has less to do with Raoxu, and more to do with Jin's self-hatred, and the loss of Xiaoyu. There are other factors, such as Jin not wanting a target to be on Raoxu, so he doesn't want anyone to catch onto the fact that Raoxu is a Mishima.
Raoxu always had to straighten his hair, and pluck his eyebrows. No matter what, that Mishima blood would flare Raoxu's hair. He always has to stylise it to look less like his father's. Worse case scenario, he has to cut it short.
Though controlling, Jin spoilt Raoxu... And was controlling about that too. He would gift Raoxu cuddly toys as a child, and leaned towards sensitivity, mercy and the like, quite like his upbringing with Jun. If it was something Raoxu openly wanted that went against Jin's idea or vision of Raoxu, then Jin was vehemently against it.
I figured the environment he grew up in would be similar to Jin, but with more high tech. Say, the beach? (I'm only saying this because of the gyaru pics I saw) Somewhere well away from Heihachi and Kazuya, like Australia maybe. A somewhat humble environment.
Because of this, his fashion sense and interests look something like this:
(I mean, it fits with the whole hair thing)
Raoxu is expected to be happy all the time, on the rhetoric that Jin wanted him to be as happy and hopeful as his mother was. Raoxu predictably hides a lot of insecurities behind his smiles. From the fact that his father keeps tabs on him. From the fact that his father expects him to be a copy paste of his mother. From the family history Jin does everything in his power to shield him from.
He feels like he can't be open about any struggles going on in his personal life because his father might do something about it.
Jin wants Raoxu to be sunshine and rainbows, and expects him to be so all the time, but Raoxu is secretly rebellious. Sneaking out to parties, yada yada.
Jin's well aware that Raoxu can handle himself, especially since he ensured that Raoxu received the best training. However, he still feels a pang of dread whenever Raoxu gets himself into some kind of conflict.
He doesn't understand what true danger looks like because Jin shielded him from it. In fact, because he grew up in Australia, he's comically unafraid of obvious danger, and gets himself into danger the very second he gets a slice of freedom. He's not naive or oblivious, it's just that in his logic he's seen worse.
Thankfully, his opponents never see his next move coming because he knows a plethora of styles. Kazama style, Taekwondo, Baguazhang and Capoeira. (Jin never taught him Mishima style)
Raoxu has a great relationship with his great-grandfather, Wang. He deeply loves and cares for his father, just as he is precious to Jin. He has tried reaching out to Lee Chaolan, but it didn't end well because Lee thought it was some kind of trick.
Other relationships include this major crush he has on Uncle Eddy's student.
If he were to meet Kazuya and be a part of the feud, then he would be less hateful and more sad. His personality towards his grandfather is snarky and mocking in order to hide that sadness. He would stay out of it for Jin's sake, but is open to harmless sabotage and massive amounts of trolling.
Kazuya has an important board meeting? Raoxu will somehow let himself into G Corp, and wail about how he wants candy, and how Grandpa promised him a fluffy toy. He's too old to be acting like this, but anything to humiliate his grandfather. Bad attention is still attention.
In Kazuya's mind, he's never had to deal with this sort of behaviour before, so he's dumbfounded each time.
Note: First time using a Pinterest collage with my laptop, so sorry if it looks messy. Easier with my phone.
This post gave me the courage to share this.

THIS WAS SO EVIL WHAT THE HELL
Also shout out to Jessica for being the only woman from the original movie trilogy that gets to acknowledge that the pain and trauma she was put through was actually painful and traumatic lol
Ali was harassed by her ex who stole and destroyed her property, got his goons to hold her back while he beat the shit out of this new kid just for talking to her, and forced himself on her in public just to make her new boyfriend jealous. But all that is water under the bridge bc lol who even remembers what happened in high school??
Kumiko had her fucking life threatened by a guy holding her at knife point in front of her entire village, and got punched in the face and knocked unconscious. But even that is water under the bridge bc oh dw we got over that years ago
And it's not that I don't want Johnny or Chozen to be redeemed for what they did. I like them both, I like their growth. Honestly I think the only reason Jessica even gets to express her hurt is because the show wants to paint Terry as the be all, end all bad guy of the series. And that's hurtful to me, as a delulu Terry stan
But seriously Chozen is the only villain that wanted to and could have literally killed Daniel because he was the only person Daniel fought outside of a tournament setting, and he ended up getting to crash on Daniel's couch for months on end watching TLC and Bravo all day. Terry deserved better </3
My take:
I understand this, but I think one of the scary things about this is that Silver was a full grown adult who decided to terrorise a teenager by: hiring a kid to stalk, harass and assault him, faking his parts of his personality and identity to lull him into a false sense of security.
I think the reason Terry stands out the most is because he pretended to be someone he wasn't, all the while brainwashing Daniel into abandoning Miyagi-do and succumbing into his rage. The very second Daniel no longer wants training from him, he switches up, and what happens next is nightmare fuel.
Mike appears, and when Daniel tries to leave, Kreese jumpscares him - Terry told Daniel and Miyagi that he died of cardiac arrest.
Mike proceeds to beat up Daniel all the while Kreese and Terry are mocking and jeering next to them.
Even though Terry claims to have moved on, he returns. And his flashbacks leading to his return revolve around messing with Daniel. Hell, there's even a deleted scene of him looking at a billboard of Daniel and being conflicted - and this is before he joins Kreese.
Chozen and Johnny being kids doesn't excuse what they did, but at least their intentions and personalities were truthful from the very beginning. Well, Chozen was also a snake at the beginning, but you get it.
The only apology and forgiveness that was really well written was Mike's. Whatever he had with Daniel wasn't truly personal, yet he apologised, and even wanted to do it sooner - except he didn't, because he knew he might trigger Daniel's trauma. Mike is the only one (besides Chozen) who grew from everything.
I still love Silver though.
They could never make me hate you Robby Keene.
Karate Kid 3 if they did a joint dojo that shit would’ve been chaotic af 😭 (sorry for the fast swiping lmao)
thoughts while watching cobra kai
-sam my beloved you are too good for this show the writers are fucking you over so bad
-let characters have their redemption!!!! johnny was WRONG most of the time and he grew, tory and hawk as well!!!!!
-acting like sam kissing miguel is thé worst thing a character could have done in a show where people try to kill others on a regular basis is wild
-demitri is so underrated bro, he learnt sm and became rlly good at karate, ppl just hate on him bc he’s not edgy and cool enough for teenage boys
-the larusso’s are so forgiving because i wouldn’t allow half the characters of the show to be anywhere near me again
-sam had everyyyyy right to hate tory s2-4
-miguel is the only CK og that stayed relatively normal, you cannot tell me that johnny’s original Cobra Kai’s teaching were good
-miyagi do is the best dojo, they always win ( and i mean FAIRLY winning), respect tradition and culture and sane people
-cobra kai anytime before s6 was teaching children how to be like serial killers enough
- johnny WAS the bully that whole debate is useless he was a terrible person back then
-daniel was never ever a bad guy
-daniel and chozen are the best teachers
-the legacy kids not getting a single win is literally bullshit
-cobra kai ( before redemption arc) was not stronger, winning by either cheating, or playing dirty just shows that you are less skilled
-if i hear the sentence “miyagi glaze” one more time im gonna lose it. miyagi is the center of the entire show/trilogy and the BEST character enough
It’s me, your (least) favourite Australian and today I’m gonna be telling you which CK/KK characters I think would/wouldn’t enjoy Vegemite because I just got back to Australia.
here we go
Daniel LaRusso - Despises it with a burning passion
Johnny Lawrence - it’s made of the same shit as beer I don’t see how he could dislike it
Mike Barnes - has no clue wtf that shit is
Amanda LaRusso - doesn’t like it, but still sneaks it into the house to piss off Daniel because it’s funny
Terry Silver - he’s too “upper class” for that
John Kreese - that shits as salty as he is, he would like it when he was younger, hates it now
Carmen Diaz - eats it out of the JAR.
Dutch - won’t admit it but he despises it
Bobby Brown - he thinks it’s okay, not really his thing though
Tommy - He likes it, not as much as anyone else but he enjoys it!
Jimmy - hasn’t heard of it, we’ll he has he just forgot he had
Miguel Diaz - “yeah it’s okay” secretly steals it out of the jar
Robby Keene - never had it, never wants it
Sam LaRusso - never tried it because Daniel banned it from the house
Anthony LaRusso - tried it once when Amanda snuck it in, almost threw up
that’s all for today because I am racking my brain for the others
you know what i see? i see four consequences, right here.
THEN AND NOW - THE KARATE KID FRANCHISE DANIEL + THE KARATE RIVALS/BULLIES NOW EX-RIVALS.
Terry, sitting and reading
