Richard chuckled to himself as he hopped a ship from Barona to Ladylake. Despite being the prince of Windor (his uncle Cedric had the throne when his father passed away, so he was still prince in name), he was still watched like a hawk, especially since when he was younger he slipped past his guards and made friends with Asbel and Hubert Lhant, Cheria Barnes, and Sophie.
This time, he was prepared and donned a disguise. He tied his hair back into a ponytail, put on peasant clothes that passed as a student, and slipped a pair of glasses (just normal glass) on his nose. No one suspected a thing.
He finally docked at Ladylake and had to keep his jaw from dropping. Despite being smaller than Barona, it was a lot bigger than he had anticipated. And gorgeous. The buildings looked modern and there were a lot more citizens around. He could hear the shouts of merchants trying to sell their wares to the various giggles and conversations floating around.
The blonde prince started walking around, his amber eyes taking everything in. Sometimes he had to dodge children running around him, playing chase. He shook his head in amusement and made his way up the steps. On the left seemed to be a church, with various merchant shops peppered in front of it. He thought it was an odd design choice but who was he to judge?
The sounds of a horse drew his attention and he noticed one walk by, with a blonde girl seated upon it. Her hair was styled in a way he was not familiar with and her attire was in various silvers, pinks, and white, ending with black shorts that fell higher than her knees. Various townspeople stopped and waved to her, calling her âLady Alishaâ.
He knew that name, vaguely. He remembered hearing his uncle talking about a treaty with Ladylake and meeting with the only thing closest to royalty: Princess Alisha Dipha. Ever curious, the prince followed after her, surprised that he wasnât stopped at the gates to what was clearly the rich side of Ladylake. He kept careful distance from her, his eyes narrowed when he noticed a group of angry-looking elders in front of what was clearly her home.
Alisha walked out of the stables as two females rushed over to her as they were dressed up in blue. âLady Alisha, shouldnât you be getting ready to travel to Lhant, we heard itâs a long travel and perhaps you would like to take a rest you havenât slept in days .â Alisha, of course, shook her head. âI have plenty of time, Iâm not tired Iâve rested my time in the Inn.â Alisha cast her glance and council me who began to whisper in secret
âDo you have business with me, or are you going to stand there like a bunch of preying Vultures?!â Alisha was not in the mood to deal with the council havenât they made her life miserable enough She crossed her arms over her chest staring at them.
The council glared back at the princess then walked away. with a hard sigh, The female shook her head, âI sware they begin to make my life harder and harder each day.â Walking away Alisha made her way to the back to a beautiful courtyard.
Though she could have sworn that she saw someone else by the gate, maybe she was just seeing things. Sighing she leaned agast a stone pillar. that is until one of the councilmen came up to her causing Alisha to be on her guard and back up. She didnât trust these men one bit.
âAhh well if it isnât the princess knight herself?â
Alisha glared as she spoke up. "Chancellor Bartlow..â Alisha held her spear close to her as she wouldnât allow him any closer than he already was. âHave you thought of my offer to create a new and better world.â Alisha, of course, nodded her head.
âI have, however, my answer is and will be the same,, what we need is peace between our countries not to start a war for more land, I will never⊠I repeat ever! agree with this ridiculous plan, mark my words you and the rest of the council will be revealed for the traitors you truly are.â
The man chuckled. âMy such bold words from a silly little girl who isnât even sitting on the throne and never will be, Tell you what why donât you keep playing hero and let the adults do the work, after all your nothing but a silly little knight whos never ment to take the throne, And pretty soon there will be no need of you, .â
Alisha gripped her spear. "You will be exposed for who you truly are, Chancellor Bartlow, mark my words, I may not be sitting on that throne and I may not wear a crown, but I AM Ruler of Ladylake and I will do whatever I feel is necessary even if it means going against the council. .â
The knight now walked away as a few of the ladies of the court came around the corner. Alisha left her horse in the stables and walked out of the Gates back into the town, the guards spoke up âPrincess Alisha it wouldnât be wise to go out at this moment, not with all thatâs been going on lately.âÂ
The female, of course, shook her head. âIâm headed out to scout some more⊠shall be back later, take care of these grounds when I am gone.â Alisha rushed out back into the lush green village escaping the coucil men for the momomet. .
