Chase, sensing that someone was approaching his citadel and making their way inside, immediately became annoyed. His actions in the conflict were dormant at most, so it should not warrant the monks visiting him, and any of his… ‘colleagues’ should have no reason to, as well…

He himself walks towards the entrance to see it is Lux, and his brows raise curiously.

“Hmm… Shall I say ‘long time no see’ or… Inquire as to why you’ve come?”

Well, what a welcoming greeting that was. Lux supposes she should be glad for it. Its good to be reminded that Chase is not a friend. He’s their enemy, even if he hasn’t been active in the conflict recently.

Lux takes her time walking up to meet Chase, eyes straying over the citadel, assessing it. Assessing Chase.

“Rai thinks you’re up to something.” She says at last. “He doesn’t understand why you’d seem to withdraw from the conflict like this.” Lux isn’t so sure. She knows about Chase’s casino and she rather hopes Chase content himself with that instead of fighting and trying to rule the world. “I wanted to assess things for myself.”

“So, you come on behalf of your leader? I have to say, Pedrosa is smart, if unavoidably a nuisance. My reasoning for withdrawing from the conflict for a short period of time is classified. I thought he would enjoy the little ‘vacation’ I granted him so willingly. Am I to assume he wants turmoil?”

Chase eyed Lux for a second before turning his eyes from her, now in thought. He could be cruel, and purposefully make a statement by forging an attack on the Temple. He despised being singled out for no logical reason.

“Assess all you’d like,” he finally answers her. “But you will see I’ve nothing to hide.”
