* “GUESS WHO’S BACK MOTHERFRICKERS?!”
Hey! This is a temporary promo post until i get a proper one up, so reblog this if you don’t mind rping with an independent Undyne ask/rp blog!
“Why go halfway and turn back when you can just run the full mile?”
“You’re g-going to… Oh boy, that sure is the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard! Unimaginable power at your finger tips, and you’re only five away, and you’re just going to take their determination?”
“you know, correct me if i’m wrong. but i don’t think it’s the wisest idea to take advice from a soulless talking plant.”
“besides. godhood is not my goal. i simply need the souls to have a body of my own. and afterwards? i can return to my research. which may involve godhood down the line, if i can find more stable human souls. i’m sure if i tried to absorb frisk’s soul, it would shatter. and as for the other girl…”
The skeleton can’t hold back a quiet chuckle. “i’m certain if i absorbed her soul, she would find some way to take over control and kick my ass. it wouldn’t matter that it would also be her ass- she would sill try to fight me.”
“Hmph.” the plant huffed, clearly upset by Gaster’s contradictions.
“You’re just making up excuses. You can’t handle a dumb, savage human kid? Weak. Find six more, if need be, maybe some backups, and then you can have as many bodies of your own as you want! Think of the possibilities! Think of the possibilities for science.”
“perhaps one day,” He mused quietly. After all, he couldn’t deny that the idea of stealing souls and becoming godlike did sound interesting. Especially if it was in the name of science.
“but for now, i’m going to concentrate on getting my own body. then, afterwards, maybe i’ll look into it. one step at a time. if you rush ahead too quickly, you may miss an important step, and when dealing with science, that can easily lead to disaster.”
* Did Gaster have the SOULs in here, the lab? Perhaps he could take them. Gaster clearly was not putting them to good use, at least not in his mind.
* “Ah well, I guess beggars can’t be choosers! You do what you think is best, brainiac! Though, I wouldn’t mind helping you out, if you need it~ May I see what you have collected so far?”
* This human was by far the most awkward person he had ever met, and he had lived with Alphys for a multitude of months. Of course, this was a different sort of awkward. The dinosaur was sort of a bumbling, tearful sort of awkward, but this? This was just the epitome of teenage hormones, looking him directly in the face.
* “It’s alright, I understand! Talking to a human feels like a dream to me, we are in agreement! But no, you’re not dreaming, I can assure you! You just took a tumble down into the underground, that’s all! Want some help getting yourself un-lost?”
* Soon he would have that SOUL, and then he would only need a half dozen more to become god. He could practically taste the power!
* “Maybe some protection for you as well, after all, I’m not the weirdest thing you’ll see down here, hehe!”
this interaction felt like nothing more than a dream to them. reassuring to know they were in the same boat, the teenager still had a rather strange feeling. ’ avoid this situation, ’ their head spun with echoes booming & bouncing around – but still, they remained. contrary to the nature this one displayed, there were no signs of leaving this conversation that could prove troublesome. this newfound area was in fact a puzzle, one that someone intrigued by mystery had not yet solved.
❝ forgive me for asking, though what do you mean by weird ? ❞ ❝ granted, i’ve never met a flower capable of talking, but you don’t seem like something i need protection from. ❞
* “Why, of course not, human! I’m the least of your troubles, hehe! Down here, there are biiiiggg scary monsters, ones that won’t hesitate to eat you alive, or break every bone in your body!”
* He catches his voice becoming a bit unhinged, and corrects himself. Perhaps listing off things he’d like to do was not the best choice, as now he had gotten himself riled up. He placates himself, returning his expression to that of helpful concern.
* “I just need to give you a lil barrier around your SOUL, you understand?”
* If Sans couldn’t resist taunting him, Flowey couldn’t resist biting at the damn hand as it touched his face. Biting bone, however, is not as nice as biting flesh. It hurt, and his hand also smelled like ketchup. Disgusting. The flower immediately releases his hold, wanting to wash out his mouth.
* He didn’t need to bring up that Flowey didn’t have legs. He was aware of this fact, and it pained him every day. He wanted arms, and legs, and hands. That would be just dandy.
* “Pizza. Order a pizza. A cheese pizza, nothing on it!”
Sans didn’t pull his finger away when the little flower bit him. It didn’t hurt. The kid was no venus flytrap. In this state, it was almost too easy to forget the kind of monster this flower could be when he actually tried to be threatening. Luckily, being put in a teapot not only made the plant seem less intimidating, but also seemingly had the desired effect of making his little tantrums less… well, less dangerous.
“heh. you know, when i said i’d bite, that wasn’t really an invitation for you to do the same.” Grinning, the skeleton pulls his hand away from the plant’s face, leaning back a bit. Pizza, huh? Sans could deal with that. The sauce was similar enough to ketchup, so he could have a slice or two. Sans doubted the plant would be able to eat the whole thing- hell, he was still trying to figure out how a plant could eat at all. Then again, Sans himself lacked a stomach, so who was he to judge?
“sure thing, almighty plant god.” Sans said it in a mocking tone, chuckling to himself as he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket and started to dial the number to the pizza place. Pausing, he glances back at the flower. “you sure you want cheese? sure you don’t knead some other toppings?”
Sans no. Don’t start with the pizza puns.
* How dare he insult him with that mocking tone! He was an almighty plant god, or at least, he had been. If need be, he could always become one again! He’d just have to go outside, murder some humans, and then-! Oh, what was the use. The dumb skeleton was right. He couldn’t get out of this teapot, so much as the door.
* “Don’t start! And no, nothing else! Even if you pick it off, the taste… Lingers.”
* This was such a “little kid” thing to say. He also didn’t like any food that was green, especially salad. That would be like cannibalism, right? He had done a lot of weird, creepy, and evil things in his time, but he was not about to stoop that low.
* “Just cheese!”
“all right, all right. no need to get saucy with me.” The skeleton turns away from the plant to pick up the phone to make the order. “just cheese, then. gotta say though, cheese pizza doesn’t leave mushroom for creativity. oh well. at least it doesn’t cost a lot of dough.” Sans chuckles at his own bad puns as he dials the number for the pizza place. “sorry, kid. i know these jokes are too cheesy for ya.”
Flowey what have you done. You’ve unleashed the beast. The pizza pun beast.
Fortunately for the plant, Sans’s attention was diverted from puns for the next minute or so as he ordered the food. He didn’t think Toriel would mind if he ordered out. Flowey was a handful, and even she had trouble handling him sometimes. Sans doubted she’d mind if he ordered a pizza in order to calm Flowey down.
With the food ordered, Sans sets the phone down. “there. the pizza’ll be here soon. do i at least get a thanks for my trouble? after all…” Sans no.
“it’s the yeast you could do.”
* Should he smash his own head against the side of the table, or Sans’? That was the real question here. Looking over the side of the counter top, he wondered if a fall from this height would kill him. Probably not, considering his luck. At least he was quiet for a second. That one second was a blessing.
* “Sans, I swear to god, if you weren’t paying for my food and I didn’t care about Frisk’s happiness, I would kill you right now. I’m not even joking. You know I am not joking.”
* Needless to say, the skeleton was not going to get a thank you.

* He gives a nod in response, and then goes to focus all of his attention on where her heart should be. That is, if she was indeed human. Taking a deep breath, he gently moves his little leaves to pull her SOUL from her body, as if he had done it a million times before.
* “…What the heck is that.”
* Instead of what would have normally been expected, a floating, glowing heart, this object that escaped her appeared of a darker nature. It was like a little glass orb with metal twisted around it, forming heart shapes, with a little spike coming off the bottom and an odd little design on top. It glowed purple, yet it absorbed light rather than emitting it. This was not the sort of SOUL he was looking for.
* “Y o u ‘ r e n o t h u m a n , a r e y o u.”
cutie-toes:
With a graceful sweep of the hand, the woman pulled the object back towards her. She held the item up, to get a better look at it.
The only souls Keirin had encountered were those of potential poes. They had a cold fiery look about them. So it seemed strange, and yet all too fitting, that her SOUL was reminiscent of the poe’s unnatural lanterns.
“I’m guessing this isn’t what human souls are suppose to look like, is it little flower?” Keirin asked mockingly, a grim smile on her face. “For your information, I am human. Or at least… I thought I was.”
* There was almost a perceivable hiss throughout the cavern, as Flowey drew his stem away from that horrifying thing. That was not a human SOUL, it was not a monster SOUL, he didn’t know what that was. It looked more tangible than anything he had ever seen, and harder to hit and destroy. She was not human.
* “No! No you’re not! You’re not even a monster, you are something, much, much worse!” he screeched, “I don’t know what, but it is something very bad!”
* He didn’t truth this woman anymore, her or her SOUL. She was something dangerous, something he could not understand.

* There is was, there was the missing feeling. It was good to actually feel something again, especially something like that. It was like an influx of power, strength being pulled into him through the boy’s pain. How wonderfully delightful. After so long of feeling empty, and SOULless… This increase in his LOVE was sufficient in covering the loss, for the time being.
* But he needed more.
* Flowey begins cackling, sending bullet after bullet in Alcatraz’s direction. The expression the human had had when the first one hit was so deliciously horrid, he knew only a few more hits would do it. However, much to Flowey’s irritation, the boy was shielding his SOUL with his body, and for some reason the pellets were just… Bouncing off?
* “ACK! Get back here you freak!”
* He was blown back!
Alcatraz stood, now at least somewhat safer, continuing to blow the flower back. He could feel the Breaking Talent reacting to the bullets-it was happy to have something to break again, and so it was causing havoc with the bullets. Some missed him completely, some shattered before they hit, and some bounced off, the Talent pulsing out to throw them off. But the boy started to worry; what would happen when it got tired? He needed a way out.
Even though he was trying to kill him, Flowey knew how to get to the surface. He had even confirmed it with the Truthfinder’s Lenses. If he could find the way out, then he could just go, and get back home. With what he had heard and seen about the monsters underground, Alcatraz wasn’t too eager to stay down here any longer.
“Freak?” It wasn’t the first time Alcatraz had been called something like that, especially in regards to his Talent. But it was sort of ironic, coming from a talking flower. His voice lowered a bit, almost talking to himself. “Yeah, I guess you could say that…”
“Flowey!” The boy tried to sound commanding and confident, as best he could. He hoped he didn’t sound too cheesy. “There’s more where that came from!” There really isn’t; he has no more offensive Lenses. But hopefully the flower can’t see through his bluff. “Tell me how to get to the surface!”
* “In your dreams, you mutant!”
* There was no way this boy could be human, humans didn’t have magic! They had Determination, and other qualities of that nature, but magic was not a feature of the human SOUL. His SOUL was human, though, which was troublesome to Flowey’s thought process. How could a human possess magic of this sort?
* “You can get lost in these catacombs forever for all I care! Your dumb SOUL isn’t worth this much trouble!”
* He should just fill up the room with vines. Did her have that much power to use? Would the boy be able to deflect it? Would it shatter the SOUL? There are too many variables.
“Whaaaat, you don’t think we can help each other? Wouldn’t two heads be better than one? If there are two of us, that means less time in collecting all seven souls… How many do you have so far?”
“You… Are planning on being a god, right?
“two.”
“and no, i don’t plan on being a god, as tempting as the idea is. human souls are too unstable for such a task. no, i simply need to drain the determination out of the souls. once i have what i need, the souls will be of little use to me.”
“Why go halfway and turn back when you can just run the full mile?”
“You’re g-going to… Oh boy, that sure is the stupidest idea I’ve ever heard! Unimaginable power at your finger tips, and you’re only five away, and you’re just going to take their determination?”

“Hey, hey, no need to get nasty with me!”
“I just want in on the fun, that’s all, hehe!”
“find your own fun.”
“i don’t have the time or patience to deal with a soulless pest like you.”
“Whaaaat, you don’t think we can help each other? Wouldn’t two heads be better than one? If there are two of us, that means less time in collecting all seven souls… How many do you have so far?”

* Looking at her more closely, now that she was seated before him, he found that she was a lot older than the others that had fallen down here previously. She wasn’t a hag, of course, but she was no child. And she hadn’t fallen down, either. She came here by choice, and didn’t even get the wind knocked out of her! What a strange woman indeed.
* He wanted to know what she was.
* “No problem, friend! Though, this may feel like quite a big deal to you, I am going to have to take out your SOUL. It will remain in front of you, in your view, don’t you worry! I’m not taking it or anything, I just need to make that piece of you stronger! Is that alright?”
* Half of that was just plain lies.
cutie-toes:
Keirin contemplated on calling the flower out, as surely even down here the removal of a soul was a “big deal”. She considered bartering. He could take her soul out, as long as he took his out too. But that didn’t seem like a game he’d want to play. Besides, there was a terrible sense of curiosity in the back on her mind. She wanted to see what her soul looked like now. It had been human, once upon a time. What it was now, she didn’t know- but she wanted to know.
Maybe it was overconfidence in her growing abilities or due to the terrible adage “curiosity killed the cat”, either way Keirin accepted. “Alright, little flower. You can take out my soul.”
* He gives a nod in response, and then goes to focus all of his attention on where her heart should be. That is, if she was indeed human. Taking a deep breath, he gently moves his little leaves to pull her SOUL from her body, as if he had done it a million times before.

* “Hmph. Ye of little faith. You’re just in denial. If I needed to, I could still become a god again, I would just… Need to get out. That’s all!”
* In reality, he was just a piss-baby in a teapot. He looked like a daisy, and kind of smelt nice. His petals and face were squishy. In all honesty, there was nothing threatening about him at all anymore, despite what he had done in the past.
* “You’re a jerk, Sans, a real jerk!”
* Says the mass murderer. He huffs like a child.
* “Gimme food.”
The skeleton chuckles quietly as he sets the teapot on the kitchen table. It was easy to forget this flower was just a kid. An evil, soulless kid. But a kid nonetheless. Asriel had been young when he’d absorbed the human’s soul. But no matter what form he took, whether it was a being of incredible power, a god, or this pissbaby plant, Sans knew they were just a kid.
A demonic little flower child, but still.
A bony finger reaches out to lightly poke Flowey’s cheek. Demon flower or not, Sans couldn’t resist taunting the other. “oh, really? pardon me for ‘poking’ fun at you, but i think getting out is a bigger obstacle than you realize. in case you forgot, you don’t have legs.”
Sans removes his finger pausing for a moment. “but alright. i’ll bite. what do you want, creepy little flower god?”

* “Just cheese!”
– ; [ It ] was a bit unsettling to see how uncomfortable and frightened the flower appeared. Just what happened to him ? People were hurting him ? Who would hurt a defenseless flower ? Whoever would cause harm to something so small, Ayano knew if she ever crossed paths with them, she would not take so kindly to them.
– ; [ Her ] lips were pressed into a tight line, examining the tears in his petals and other imperfections caused by others. It … really hurt, just to look at. Feeling as though she might be overstepping her boundaries, the scarfed girl inched back slightly to allow the flower more room. The last thing she wanted to do was make him uncomfortable.
– ; [ Brown ] hues widened in response to his next comment. She had said his name ? Was Flowey really the name of this flower ? Fitting, though she didn’t even know where it came from ! That was quite unusual. Before she began to think on it too much, she continued the conversation.
– ; [ ❝ I ] honestly have no idea why I said that, ❞ she persisted, voice defensive. ❝ It just sort of … slipped out. I can’t explain why. Your name really is Flowey ? ❞
– ; [ While ] listening to the trailing remark made by the other, she pondered, trying to think of where she had heard that name before. For the short time she thought, she couldn’t seem to put her finger on it. Perhaps with more time, she’d be able to come to a conclusion. For now, she had to keep conversation.
– ; [ ❝ Kill ] me ? Who are you talking about ? Are the people here really so heartless ? ❞ Yes, his words frightened the heroine, yet it didn’t seem to bother her too much. In fact, she seemed more curious about it than anything. ❝ You aren’t human, but you’re hurt. They did this, didn’t they ? ❞ Her expression shifted for a moment, soft, her eyes pained, but quickly she recomposed herself. ❝ If they’re so bad, could I bring you with me ? It’d be cruel to leave you with those with harmful intentions. ❞
– ; [ ❝ If ] you can’t, or won’t leave, I’m not going to leave, either. I couldn’t forgive myself if I let someone else get hurt when I could do something to prevent it. ❞
* She was giving him personal space, which was more than he could say for the rest of the people down here. Why did her kindness seem so familiar? The look in her eyes, the softness of her voice… Why did it feel like there was something buried deep in his brain? Why did this feel like deja vu?
* “Human… They hurt anybody. But you? They’ll hurt you worse than they’ve ever hurt anyone before. They’ll bake you into pies, they’ll take out your eyes! They’ll do much worse than kill you.”
* Her offer was tempting, to say the least. To leave this place under the protection of one with a stronger SOUL would be a blessing, despite her rather unthreatening appearance. What were the chances of him being turned into salad if he had a companion.
* “You? You really think you’re strong enough to take on the world out there? I know you’re trying to be nice, but… That will get you killed.”
– ; [ Perhaps ] it shouldn’t have, but as the conversation progressed, the girl grew more angry ? Maybe angry was a bit of a stretch, but she certainly was not happy with what Flowey was telling her. It frustrated her, that people could be so cruel. Monsters or not.
– ; [ Ayano ] pursed her lips, her hands balling into tight fists. She averted her eyes, finding it hard to meet the flower’s beady ones after showing her anger externally, perhaps ashamed that she let her emotions show so easily. But when it came to hurting others ? There was very little tolerance for that.
– ; [ ❝ I ] refuse to let anyone lay a finger on you. They won’t hurt you again. ❞
– ; [ Did ] she seem too confident in herself ? Maybe it was to trick both of them. They both needed that encouragement, that was for sure. Physically, she didn’t look all too intimidating, but still, she really wanted to help him in any way she could. Helping him would mean so much, having saved a life, and maybe she would be good enough to be considered heroic.
– ; [ ❝ Please, ] you need to believe in me. I know I can help you. I could carry you around and protect you from the others. You could help me get home, and you can come too – ! If you want to, that is. My family would probably like you very much … ❞
* This response... Surprised him. Almost startled him. For some reason, he had suspected her to be a lot softer than her words let on, a bit more quiet and innocent. Based on her tone, she was not someone to mess with, despite her childish and fragile appearance.
* “Ayano...”
* For a moment, it doesn’t register that he just said her name, though he was sure he didn’t know her. How come the two of them were familiar to each other, then?
* “...You are really determined to get out of here, huh? I guess I can’t really stop you... But where would you carry me, huh? Your scarf?”
* The idea of a family, like the one she described, was very appealing to him for some reason. He would loved to be cared for. That sounded really... Nice.
