Everyone has gotten one at least once in their lifetime. After a test, for no apparent reason or when just the right circumstance come up, you’ve all had a headache before. As someone who gets small headaches or worse almost every day, I can tell you, they are not fun. Here are a few things which may help you with headaches.
1. Tylenol: This is probably the most obvious. It is the whole purpose of Tylenol. Other headache medicines will also work, but Tylenol is the only one that I know of off the top of my head. And no, I don’t mean Advil. Advil does not help with headaches as much as Tylenol. Advil is for fevers and pain, not headaches.
2. Caffeine: If you experience a lot of headaches, especially in the morning or when you are tired, try having some caffeine in the morning. You may just be tired or something along those lines. Caffeine could be coffee or Coke or tea, anything that has caffeine that you like. It won’t help if you get a headache trying to prevent a headache.
3. Chocolate: Right, this may seem a bit obscure, but chocolate helps me with my headaches. Hot chocolate also works. Obviously, if you are allergic to chocolate, don’t try to use it to relieve your headache.
4. Dim the Lights: If you are getting a headache and the area you’re in is bright, try moving to somewhere darker or dim the lights. This is easier if you’re at home. You can turn off the room light or dim it. When you’re outside, you can put sunglasses on, shade you’re eyes from the sun and any reflections or move into the shade.Try closing your eyes for a minute or so if you’re in a classroom or have no way to dim or shade the lights.
5. Turn Down the Noise: I mean this in the nicest way, but sometimes your music can be too loud. Try turning down your music and take off your headphones if you have headphones on. Headphones can put pressure on your head and after a while, that can turn into a headache. Loud noises and overlapping voices can add up and cause a headache. Try removing yourself or the noise from the area you're in.
Not all of these will work for everyone. If you are particularly vulnerable to headaches, then try to avoid situations that can cause headaches. Avoid strobe lights, areas with very loud noises, such as music, and looking at the sun. That last one should be kinda evident, but you never know.
What do you use to cure your headaches?
