Seung Hui Cho was fixated on the mid-’90s alt-rock staple ''Shine,'' by rock group Collective Soul. Cho evidently found meaning in the song’s semi-religious lyrics, which he repeatedly scrawled on the walls of his dormitory suite: “Teach me how to speak / Teach me how to share / Teach me where to go.” According to the roommates, Cho would play the song endlessly on repeat, perhaps obsessing over Shine's call for help from a higher power.

“The Lost Highway - The film is notable for for the way it shatters reality and identity; Dylan’s statement that the film sounds like it’s about him suggests that his identity and grasp of reality were deteriorating. Eric also identified The Lost Highway as his favorite film.” (p. 26,859) The Lost Highway, with what little information is given about the boys, seems to be their favorite movie and the one they both closely identity with opposed to Natural Born Killers. Some would say Natural Born Killers was more of an aesthetic prospect. A way to release this feeling they both felt with a shattered sense of reality. Projecting how they saw themselves opposed to who they really were or who they could be. It’s also interesting to note that antidepressants can at times induce these feelings in some people. Not feeling like the reality that they are in is real. In Eric Harris’ autopsy they found 390 ng/ml of Luvox in his system. A relatively small amount. “Therapeutic levels” of this drug start at 50 and go up to 900 ng/ml which varies person to person. Although Dylan Klebold’s autopsy reported no antidepressants in his system there is atleast one report allegedly from a friend who claims they witnessed Dylan taking the antidepressants Paxil and Zoloft. Dylan’s medical records are sealed so we will never know exactly what he was on. I have a theory that one or maybe both of them were experiencing Depersonalization-derealization disorder. Although there is no official research concerning this disorder and antidepressants there are accounts from a high percentage of people who have said antidepressants made them develop this disorder or if they had it already it, made it worse. DP is a disorder that can make one feel like their reality is altered in some way. Such as they’re looking at life as if it were a dream or movie. Not really feeling as if they were there. Dylan mentions countless times in his journal how his reality doesn’t feel real to him and he constantly brings up his existence. To show a couple: “this is a weird time, weird life, weird existence” “how I feel that I am in eternal suffering, in infinite directions in infinite realities—yet these realities are fake—artificial, induced by thought, how everything connects, yet it’s all so far apart…. & I sit & think… Science is the way to find solutions to everything, right? I still think that, yet I see different views of shit now—like the mind—yet if the mind is viewed scientifically… Hmm I dwell in the past… thinking of good & bad memories.” So add these feeling and constant torment from classmates you have an elixir that only spells out disaster. Dylan felt the only way out was suicide. “The thinking of suicide gives me hope, that I’ll be in my place wherever I go after this life… that I’ll finally not be at war with myself, the world, the universe—my mind, body, everywhere, everything at PEACE in me—my soul (existence)”

The Lead Masks Case refers to the inexplicable death of two electronic technicians, Manoel Pereira da Cruz and Miguel José Viana. Their bodies were discovered by a kite flyer on the Vintem Hill in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 20 August, 1966. Due to the harsh terrain, the bodies could not be reached until the following day.
The two men were discovered laying side by side, partially covered by grass. They were both wearing formal suits, raincoats, and a bizarre lead eye mask. Beside the bodies was an empty water bottle, a notebook, and two soaked towels. Inside the notebook was a mysterious note which read: “16:30 be at the specified location. 18:30 ingest capsules, after the effect protect metals await signal mask.” There was absolutely no sign of trauma on either of the bodies nor was there any evidence of a struggle. During the autopsy, the cause of death could not be determined and no drugs were uncovered in their system.
Investigators were baffled by their seemingly unexplained and bizarre death. After questioning the two men’s friends, they came across one who had claimed that they were members of a “scientific spiritualist” group and that they had been attempting to contact aliens and spirits. Many conspiracy theorists believe they succeeded.

Stacey Burns was found murdered inside her own home on May 10th, 2009. The then-41-year-old lived in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, where she worked as a school nurse while raising her five children. Stacey’s brutal murder sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community of Wolfeboro - and many are still fearful about her killer still remaining free today. Stacey’s body was found in her bedroom by her son. It was Mother’s Day, and her children planned to make her breakfast that morning. When Stacey’s son Michael, then 15, walked into his mother’s bedroom, he stumbled upon the horrific scene: Stacey was dead - she had been brutally stabbed to death. The killing happened overnight, while her children and some of their friends slept in nearby rooms. According to Michael, none of the children in the house reported hearing any signs of distress that night.
During the early stages of the investigation, police learned that there were numerous people in Stacey’s life that could be potential suspects. Just months before her death, Stacey finalized her divorce with her ex-husband/father of her children, Ed Burns. According to Stacey’s loved ones, the divorce was contentious. Stacey had begun a new relationship since separating from Ed, but reportedly ended that relationship just a few weeks before her death. Police also learned that just days before her death, Stacey went on a date with another man - during which she was confronted by her more recent ex-boyfriend. Despite all of these suspicious circumstances, no arrests have ever been made in Stacey’s case. Still, there is a lot of speculation about her killer’s identity. A close look at Stacey’s various relationships, combined with the timeline of events leading up to her death, provides a few different theories.

NASA picture of Mars ‘doorway’ spawns conspiracy theories
At first glance a photograph of Mars released by NASA appears to show a doorway carved into the rock.
The grainy image, captured by the Curiosity rover last week, clearly shows a rectangular gap in the rockface and has, perhaps inevitably, spawned conspiracy theories that point to it as evidence of alien life on the red planet.
And the simple explanation for the “door” on Mars is actually contained within the photograph itself if you look more closely, scientists have said.
A deep crack or fissure is visible inside the “door”, indicating a fracture in the rock - something that happens on both Mars and Earth and could have taken place any time in the past few hundred million years.
“The crack is a fracture and they are abundant on Mars and Earth - no need for mars quakes to produce them,” said Professor Gupta, who has worked on the Curiosity mission with NASA. “There is nothing at all strange in the image - these are just normal geological processes.”
Perspective also comes into play - NASA says the fissure only appears to be a full-sized door because the image is extremely zoomed in. The gap is actually a small crevice in a rock, a spokesperson explained to Snopes, a fact-checking website. “The team’s scientists underlined just how small it is”, they said, about 30 centimetres by 45 centimetres.
According to the scientists, “there are linear fractures throughout this outcrop, and this is a location where several linear fractures happen to intersect”, they added.
The Murder of Ana Kriegel: A Girl Who Just Wanted to Make Friends
Ana’s Story
In May 2018, years of psychological torment came to a cruel end for Ana Kriegel when she was callously murdered by two teenage boys. After being adopted from Russia at 2 years old, Ana was just 14 years old when she was subjected to horrific physical abuse and succumbed to her injuries in Lucan, Republic of Ireland. Although closely treasured by her adoptive parents, Ana’s subtlety and kind nature was often taken for weakness by others her own age. As a younger child, she endured a complicated surgery to remove a tumour from inside her ear, which caused long-term visual and hearing issues. Rather than receiving support for her impairment, fellow classmates used it as an opportunity to mock Ana and prey on her vulnerability. She would also often receive criticism for ‘not having a real mum and dad’, but despite these setbacks, Ana continued to try and establish friendships. As Ana aged into her teenage years with little companionship, she turned to creating accounts on various social media platforms such as Snapchat, Instagram and Youtube to find people with the same interests. However, instead of making friends, the bullying continued to follow Ana online. She began receiving sexually explicit and threatening messages. One comment on a Youtube video Ana uploaded simply read “I’d have you executed”. The inappropriate behaviour she experienced transcended into real life during October 2017, when Ana was returning home from a Halloween event she had helped to organise. She was approached by four older boys in the street, who told Ana that they were going to have sex with her. She had told them “no”, and as she walked away, one of the boys retaliated by hitting her on the backside. Ana returned home very emotionally distressed, and the culprits were issued with a caution by police. However, this experience proved to be the final straw for Ana’s resilience, and a downward spiral into depression and self-harm ensued. Just as Ana had become more socially withdrawn, she thought her life was changing for the better when she received a sudden knock at her door. It was a local 13 year old boy (Boy B)*, who informed Ana that he was going to take her to meet another boy (Boy A)*, also 13 years old. Ana learned that Boy A was somebody she had liked for some time, so she was more than happy to follow. Sadly, Ana was never to return home, and her body was found in a derelict house after a three-day search.
( * Boy A and Boy B are named as such due to their age, and their anonymity is protected by the law. )
Ana’s Murder
At first, Ana’s body was mistaken for a discarded mannequin lying amongst used condom packaging and broken glass. However, the blood on her face and bruising on her thighs quickly confirmed that the abandoned building was now a crime scene. Ana had been stripped naked down to only her socks before receiving significant injuries to her head and neck, and she had also been left with industrial tape wound tightly around her throat. Ana’s fingers were underneath the tape, as though she had been trying to prise it away at the time of her death. A more detailed autopsy found that, in total, there were around 60 injuries sustained to her body. This included numerous defensive wounds, leading prosecutors to maintain that Ana had fought extremely hard for her life. CCTV footage was reviewed, which showed Boy B leading Ana away from her home towards the direction of the murder scene, where Boy A was already waiting. After their arrest, traces of Ana’s blood were found on Boy A’s shoes, as well as a ‘murder kit’ hidden in his bedroom which contained a mask, gloves, protective leg wear, a concrete block, and a piece of wood with nails stuck into the end. The ultimate cause of death was recorded as blunt force trauma, but horrifically Ana had also been strangled throughout this ordeal. As well as the beating Ana had sustained, forensic examination also showed that she had been sexually assaulted, as there were signs of attempted penetration and traces of semen from Boy A were found on a torn garment belonging to Ana. Further searches of the young boys’ homes identified that both boys had developed an obsession with violent pornography. Almost 12,000 sexually explicit images were found on numerous electronic devices belonging to Boy A, and past internet searches had included terms such as “child porn” and “teen sweet Russian”, as well as “most gruesome torture methods in history” and “abandoned places in Lucan”.
Trial and Sentencing
Despite the overwhelming evidence to indicate their involvement, both boys went on to plead not guilty. Based on what was witnessed during court proceedings, they also received the support of their parents. It was noted that, while details of the case were read out to the jury, Boy A appeared visibly upset and held his father’s hand while his mother also cried. It was also noted that Boy A walked with a limp, which was thought to be a result of his struggle with Ana. Boy B averted his gaze to the ground for most of the hearing and held on to his mother. After a guilty verdict was reached, the father of Boy B flew into an explosive rage before storming out of the courtroom. He then returned shortly afterwards to sarcastically slow clap and angrily say “an innocent child is going to prison” and shouted “you fucking bunch of scumbags!” at the prosecution team. Boy B had previously confided to detectives that he had been approached by Boy A one month before Ana’s murder. He claimed that Boy A had asked him if he wanted to kill someone, and named Ana Kriegel specifically. Boy B claimed he did not consent to participating in her murder, but did acknowledge that he had called at Ana’s home to inform her that Boy A wanted to meet her. He then led her to the location where she would be murdered, but claimed to have run away when Boy A became violent. The trial will recommence on 15th July 2019 for the submission of any mitigating evidence which may reduce the imposed punishment, and the sentencing will follow.
What happened to Timmothy Pitzen?
In 2011, 6 year old Timmothy Pitzen was taken out of class at school by his mother, Amy Pitzen, for what she claimed was a “family emergency.” However, this was found to be untrue. It turned out that Amy had spent the rest of that day at a zoo with Timmothy, before driving to a different town and checking them both in to a water park resort. The following day, they then travelled from Illinois to Wisconsin, where they again visited another water park. Amy eventually made contact with family back home and informed them that they were both safe, a phone call during which Timmothy’s voice could be heard in the background. Despite this reassurance, it was to be the last time that relatives would hear from them. Amy Pitzen’s body was discovered in a motel room after she had cut her wrists with a box cutter. Timmothy was nowhere to be found. A search of Amy’s car brought about the discovery of her son’s blood, although whether this indicates foul play is disputed as the marks could have been the result of a severe nose bleed Timmothy had before going missing. The only indication of his whereabouts was left behind in a message by Amy, which read that he was safe and “with people who loved him.” However, to this day, Timmothy Pitzen’s whereabouts remain unknown.
Dr John Hamilton
Dr Hamilton was a talented obstetrician-gynaecologist in Oklahoma City. When he met Susan in 1985, they were both divorced with four children between them. Susan was attractive, intelligent and people loved to be around her. John was soon head over heels in love.
The couple married two years later and settled into a privileged life. Susan started working part-time at John’s clinic, but it came at a price. As well as delivering babies, John, 53, was involved with abortions, and it attracted criticism in the conservative state. There were protests, John’s face was put on a ‘Wanted’ poster and Susan received threatening calls.
On Valentine’s Day 2001, John left their house early for surgery, then returned home to exchange cards with Susan before heading back to conduct his second operation of the day. Waiting at the local florist was a huge bunch of expensive red orchids John had ordered for his wife, but before he could pick them up, he was dialling 911.
“Please send police. Please send an ambulance, please,” he cried. “I think my wife is dead.” He told the operator he was trying CPR. “Please send somebody quick,” he begged.
When paramedics arrived, it was a sickening scene. John claimed he had returned home and discovered Susan, 55, in a pool of blood on the bathroom floor. She’d been strangled with two neck ties and her head had been smashed with such force that parts of her brain were exposed. The unknown weapon was never found.
Susan had received threats from anti-abortion activists. Had she been killed to punish John? The police didn’t think so. They had their suspicions and their prime suspect. John said he’d tried mouth-to-mouth but there was none of Susan’s blood on his face despite her facial injuries.
At the crime scene, there was no sign of forced entry, nothing stolen and no bloody footprints leading away from the carnage.
Then police found the Valentine’s Day card Susan had given her husband that morning. Inside, the message read: “I bought this two weeks ago, so I guess maybe it doesn’t seem as appropriate. But I do love you. Have a good day. Susan.” Her words made police question whether the marriage was as perfect as it seemed.
One of Susan’s friends revealed that the couple had argued after Susan had discovered John had been making calls on his mobile to a topless dancer. While John insisted she was just a patient he was trying to help, Susan accused him of having an affair.
John was taken to the police station. They noticed that during the car journey there that he was scraping his knuckles on the mesh divider – was he trying to hide injuries on his hands?
The time slot to kill between surgeries was tight, but when investigators discovered he’d been late for his second operation, he was charged and denied bail.
However, John had plenty of supporters. Even when details about the stripper were revealed, public opinion was that at worst he had stepped over a professional boundary. If he’d been having an affair, perhaps his mistress had killed Susan? When the trial started in December 2001, in the majority of people’s eyes, John remained a gentle, kind and devoted husband.
Prosecutors said Susan had confided in friends that she was considering a divorce. The couple had argued after they’d exchanged cards in the morning. While John was cleaning up with a rag found at the scene, he was paged to perform surgery at the clinic so left, dumping the weapon and his clothes on the way. Then he returned later to ‘discover’ the body.
Susan’s blood and skin were found on John’s steering wheel. Also, while loved ones were sorting through Susan’s clothes they found some of her jewellery hidden in her underwear. There was also blood on his shoe, consistent with splatter from an ‘alive’ Susan.
John’s defence team said investigators hadn’t looked into the threats from anti-abortionists enough. When he took the stand, he said he loved his wife and insisted he’d tried to save her. He explained the blood on his steering wheel by saying he’d moved his car for the emergency vehicles. He and the stripper also denied an affair.
The defence team brought out a blood expert, who testified that the blood patterns on John were consistent with him trying to save his wife. But when the expert was asked under oath if there was anything that had been missed, he alerted the court to splatter inside John’s cuff. He said it was likely to have been the result of John forcing a blow to Susan’s head.
It turned the case around. A man hired by the defence had unwittingly become the prosecution’s ultimate weapon.
The jury took two hours to find John guilty of first-degree murder. He was later sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole.
i know that my blog is true crime related, but not exclusively and it's the only account i have on here. so, i've always liked to write some things and turn them into music. my dream was to compose an album but i never found the courage, so i decided that would my goal for 2022. and i finally did it! on my bed, with a cheap keyboard and not so great producing skills. but it was something that was in my heart for so long.
i released it on bandcamp yesterday. the genre it's something between experimental, dark ambient and ambient pop and probably it will be a total flop lol, but i would be glad if anyone check the album out and tell me what they think
