I promise I had this planed before the ask (except the bow tie but after I was like O.O he neeeeeeedds it) my Gaster was always supposed to be like this. He loves kids and encourages safe science practices. Asgore noticed this and decided to make him an icon of hope. Gaster happily agreed. He had a TV show( much like Bill Nye) there were posters like this (the caption reads “stay safe wear goggles”) and he often made public appearances in schools and librabies. When he vanished, all of that was wiped. The underground was left a little more hopeless and no one knew why. Sans/Forte keeps a poster with the purple background and the caption and they draw him with a mustache and monocle and call him “that science guy” to keep it from disappearing (all the kids fan art of him also disapeared). So here you have it: Gaster the Science Master!
