rxcusant:
For all his complaining, Sora bounced back from it easily. His Keyblade disappeared with a little grin. âHeh, thanks. Youâre not half bad yourself, Guy,â Sora teased with a light laugh. If he had been alone, then the fight surely wouldâve taken a lot longer.
âSpeakinâ of monsters, that reminds me,â Sora started, taking a quick glance around the desert before focusing back on Guy. âHave you seen any weird looking ones? Like, monsters outta the ordinary. Usually with an emblem on them- a heart shaped with an X through it.â
That was something Sora was told to keep a look out for. Whether or not the Heartless had invaded Auldrant or not yet. They should have done so by now, so if not Sora had to include that in his mission report. Although Sora would feel a lot better if they hadnât shown up here yet. He didnât want to see this world plagued by Heartless and darkness, but he supposed just by being there it was only a matter of time.
âIf you havenât, itâs fine! I thought I saw some earlier, I was jusâ curious.â
The swordsmen could only tip his head with a smile at the compliment.
âThanks. Iâve got years of practice honing my skills, so Iâm glad itâs paying off.â Being a servant for Duke Fabre had some benefits, even if it was all a ploy at first to fuel his revenge. He was lucky he still had his Albert style sword fighting as a relic of the people of Hod. With that, he continued their original pace in a brisk stride. The sand definitely was leaking into his boots now... but Soraâs next question at least distracted him from the grit rubbing against the bottom of his shoe.
â...Heart shaped emblem?â Guy repeated after him. He had certainly seen his fair share of âweird monstersâ so he was glad Sora had at least elaborated on it. The fact Sora had sighted them at all made him a little suspicious, but he was giving Sora the benefit of the doubt already. He hadnât exactly pried into what happened before they had met. Thinking back on it, Guy couldnât exactly recall searching monsters for symbols of any sort.
âNo, I donât think so. I donât really hunt monsters outside of just protecting myself or others.â Guy turned his attention back towards Sora, giving him a quizzical look, âThe way you said it seems like youâre familiar with them. Just what kinda business are you in, then...? I never did hear where you were from.â If he was a replica, he sure was one that had developed a lot over the years. He wondered if maybe someone was just using this kid to make ends meet. Whatever these heart-monsters were, it sounded suspicious.
