[[ hello i am back from my hiatus! however i might’ve gotten a little sick and ive got some stuff to do now that i’m back home so it might take me a bit to get back into the swing of things but thanks for sticking around if you have! ]]

#*outofTP #[ i missed the beginning of the gaius event but... my pulls were rly bad lmao ]#[ either way i rly gotta nail down my drafts and such ]

[[ honestly i think what i really love about rays is like..... the concept of it i guess? like its got such a heavy focus on rebirth and second chances sort of theme? like the fact all these characters are generally coming from their post-game arcs ( there’s a few that don’t, but I’ll get into it later ) which in itself is kinda nice because we can see how they’ve grown from their adventures and how its shaped them in a later setting?? sure its kinda difficult to manage with All the characters ( giving each enough time in the spotlight is rough ) but we still see how their journeys have changed from their initial starts unlike some of the other tales of crossovers that i’ve played specifically speaking

then there’s characters that end up dying in their original canon or characters that befall some sort of awful fate and?? in rays they get a chance at renewal and they actually have a chance to live again. since they’re on a new world they don’t hold the same obligations as they did on their own worlds and they’re more free to explore and be themselves without heroes or chosen factors on top of it, which is interesting to me since there’s so many ways it could go? maybe they just goof off? maybe they continue on what they were doing before the Grand Quest and just try to live.

and even with the MCs of rays, they have to go through their rbirth and second chances too. Mileena’s whole ARC in itself is focusing a lot on her own sort of redemption for the things gefion did even at the midst of her own selfishness to bring ix back to life and bringing the world to the brink of collapse out of her hurt and anger. Ix goes through his own second chance because ix has time to grow and get over his own anxieties that came with his mirrist powers and learn more about himself that the original ix didnt get to bc he died too soon. ix shapes into his own self despite his anxieties and has a chance to GROW from it too ( though i do think they should’ve still kept his worrywart tendencies in later chapters instead of outright erasing it but that’s for some other post ).

its a really interesting theme for me, personally, especially since im really the sucker for a type of bittersweet but still happy ending. and even that rebirth/second chance theme is a double edged sword. sync is a good example of this bc he absolutely hates the fact he was exoflected and believes mirrists are playing god, which is can also be a big counterpoint to it. what is the limit of being able to bring people back and the heavy costs of it, even if what you believe is you doing right. its a lot of interesting themes here ( or maybe im looking waaay too into it ) but man i just... love it ]]
