I think that for the longest time I was ashamed to have pretty things, because pretty always seemed to be connected with the whole idea of superficial. What's the use of something pretty? I'm only smart and different if I look for things that brings me maximum efficiency and are minimal. Bullshit. I want pretty things. I want a pretty rug. I want pretty plants. I want cute pottery. I want complicated clothes to wear daily. I want useless and out of date books with beautiful covers. Give me it all. Beautiful things make me happy and you won't make me feel inferior because of it.
