Hey everyone! I figured that with all the new and upcoming Scooby-Doo media and merchandise coming our way, I’d write a detailed post about what all us Scooby-Doo fans can expect over the next couple months!Â
1) LEGO SCOOBY-DOO! HAUNTED HOLLYWOOD
Today, May 10th, the new movie LEGO Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood was released on DVD and Blu-Ray! You can also purchase the bundle containing the Blu-Ray, DVD, and a LEGO Scooby-Doo figurine! Make sure to get your copy today!
Some of the big news as of late in the Scooby-Doo fan-base has been the highly-anticipated Scooby Apocalypse DC Comics series! The official release date of this new take on the Scooby-Doo franchise is May 25th! The first issue, titled “Waiting for the End of the World” is being released with 7 variant covers as well! There’s a variant cover featuring each member of the gang as well as a blank variant cover and a black and white variant cover.Â
If you guys don’t want to wait for the 25th for Scooby Apocalypse, be sure to visit your local comic book store tomorrow, May 11th! DC Comics is distributing a free comic tomorrow titled “Scooby Apocalypse and Hanna-Barbera Preview Edition #1″! It’ll contain preview media of Scooby Apocalypse as well as the other new titles DC is releasing including The Flintstones, Wacky Race Land, and Future Quest! Again, it’s FREE! Get it while you can because supplies are limited!
The Scooby Apocalypse comic series will release new issues monthly!
3) SCOOBY-DOO DORBZ AND DORBZ RIDEZ
It’s been on the wish-list for many fans of both Scooby-Doo and Pop Funko for a series of Scooby-Doo Pop Funkos! Our wishes are being granted in June 2016 with the release of a series of Scooby-Doo Dorbz! The line of Dorbz expected in June include Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, the Wolfman, and the Mystery Machine with Fred in the driver’s seat! It’s still not clear if Fred, Daphne, Velma, and the Witch Doctor Dorbz will be released in June with the first series or if they will be saved for later in the summer but they’re on the way too! Be sure to pick them up because these Dorbz definitely live up to their name being adorable.Â
4) SCOOBY-DOO HALLMARK ITTY BITTYS
It’s not as big news as Scooby Apocalypse or a new Scooby-Doo movie but in August 2016, expect a new Hallmark Itty Bitty series including a Scooby-Doo Itty Bitty in a Sherlock Holmes-detective costume! It’s going to be super cute and a great addition to your Scooby-Doo collection!Â
5) SCOOBY-DOO! AND WWE: CURSE OF THE SPEED DEMON
It was announced back in March that the sequel WWE/Scooby-Doo movie would be released sometime in the Summer 2016! Not too much information has been released on this direct-to-video addition to the Scooby-Doo franchise but it is expected to be released sometime in July or August! Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
We don’t have any official or solid news yet on Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! but it appears the show is on hiatus. I’ve asked my friend who works on the show if she has any idea when the show will be returning to regular airing but she was unable to give me a confident answer. However, a conversation I had prior to this did allude to there definitely being more Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! on the way! I know it sucks not being able to watch it every week guys but it’s coming! Be patient! I’ll update you guys on this as soon as I hear anything!
This subject spread like rapid fire all over the Internet when it was announced last month that the title of the 2018 theatrical Scooby-Doo movie is “S.C.O.O.B.”
This movie is still under tight security at Warner Bros. so we don’t know much about it at all other than it’s the hopeful launch of a Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe! Hopefully more information about this movie will be released soon but because it’s still more than two years away, we can’t be too demanding yet!
There’s always going to be Scooby-Doo media in one form or another coming our way! I just figured I’d organize it all for you guys so you know what to expect and know what you want to go after. I can’t speak for everyone when I say I love everything Scooby-Doo but at least there’s a good variety of Scooby-Doo media out there for everyone!Â
Expect a review on LEGO Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood and the Scooby Apocalypse and Hanna-Barbera Preview Edition #1 by the end of this week!Â
