We tried appeasement after the reconstruction era and all it ended up doing is as entrenching the same old tired racists in power, which led to jim crow, which led to Nixon's Southern Strategy, which is why we're still stuck in the same old tired racist racists vs. everyone else dichotomy.
Like it or both t but the execution of war criminals after WW2 and repudiation of those values prevented Nazi Germany from returning.

🚨Meet Lyndsey Fifield — the far-right operative now accusing Democratic Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner of physical “intimidation.”
Fifield’s resumé reads like a who’s who of the conservative right: the Heritage Foundation, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the American Action Network, Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign, and “Independent Women” — a group that’s openly supportive of Republican Senator Susan Collins, the very person Platner is running to unseat.
But here’s where it gets rich.
In 2019, Fifield wrote a glowing tribute to Brett Kavanaugh, describing Christine Blasey Ford’s r*pe allegations against him as a “desperate smear campaign” meant to stop his confirmation. She called it “ruthless” and “devastating” — to Kavanaugh.
Fast forward to 2024, and Fifield is now coming forward with her own allegations against a Democrat.
Republicans and their corporate media allies didn’t hesitate to quickly pump-out a series of uncritical articles following the report — wish-casting a “crisis” for Graham Platner (he’s still leading in the polls, by the way).
The same woman who told the world that Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser was running a smear campaign now expects Americans to take her word on faith.
This isn’t the first time a conservative operative has led the charge to take down a Democratic politician with unverified allegations. When Al Franken was accused of sexual misconduct in 2017, his principal accuser was Leeann Tweeden — a conservative talk radio host and vocal Trump supporter. Franken resigned within three weeks, without ever receiving the Ethics Committee investigation he requested. A subsequent New Yorker investigation by Jane Mayer found Tweeden’s story had significant holes and had never been subjected to serious fact-checking. Sound familiar?
Quite the understatement
Just die already...
A newly filed federal lawsuit exposes a quiet shift in wildlife policy. In order to clear the way for big logging projects like the Larabee Hat project in Montana, the U.S. Forest Service and Fish and Wildlife Service have officially rewritten the rules of grizzly bear survival.
For decades, the standard scientific consensus mandated that a female grizzly bear requires a minimum "secure habitat" patch of 2,500 acres free from roads and human development to safely forage. Under new administrative guidelines, that requirement has been decimated down to just 1 acre.
As wildlife biologists point out: a one-acre island of trees completely surrounded by logging roads isn’t a secure habitat, it’s a death trap. Worse yet, this policy shift targets the exact public lands corridor needed for bears to migrate and achieve crucial genetic exchange between Glacier and Yellowstone.
The white houses lawn is about an acre.... Could do a case study there
We should send him in to explain it to the grizzlies
Once again, I choose the bear.
Bring class to the Kennedy Center once again…
