( she walks out of her house wearing a pastel pink sundress and a pair of strappy sandals, a smile on her lips as she quietly walks up behind him. she creeps up silently, before jumping onto his back. ) Hey there, pun’kin.

Scott: Just call me when Flynn takes you back home. I'll grab your brother's car keys, and you can camp out at mine, tonight.

Boston: I'll be fine, Scott. If this whole coffe things works, he'll be more inebriated than me, and I can just lock him in his room until tomorrow.

Scott: You're so vulgar when you're drunk.
Scott: That has only worked once, and that was when he had a broken leg.

{ she feels her cheeks heating under his gaze, gently biting her lip while she moved towards him. she smiles warmly, taking her phone from his hand and holding out his phone. } And I’m guessing this belongs to you.
[ He chuckles, taking his phone from her and pocketing it. ] It’s nice to meet you face to face, Miss Davenport.
Don’t worry, sugar, I’ll bundle up snug as a bug! I’ll be out in five minutes!
I’ll see you there. [He hangs up the phone, putting it into his pocket. He goes to his closet, pulling out a thick jacket, and slipping it on. He heads outside, telling his parents that he’s only going outside for a few minutes, closing the door behind him.]
{ with a smile on her lips, she hurries over to her closet, grabbing her long black trench coat and her beanie, as well as a scarf, wrapping herself tightly in the protective clothing. she slipped on a pair of black ankle booties before grabbing the phone and making her way to the front yard. when she finally saw him, her smile widened and she waved to him shyly. } Well hey there, stranger.
[He smiles at her, hoping that he doesn’t look the way he feels: like he’s melting on the inside, completely caught off guard by her beauty.] Hey. Uh -- [He pulls his phone -- well, her phone -- out of his pocket, and holds it out to her.] I think this belongs to you.
{ she lets out a (not really) frustrated squeak, before smiling. } Stop it. How about you meet me outside, yeah?
Yeah, that sounds good. --Remember to bring a jacket, okay? It’s pretty cold outside.
——– You’re makin’ me blush, Scotty!
[He laughs.] You’re cute.
She’s a fiery ‘lil spirit, that’s for darn sure. But don’t worry, she’s plenty friendly off the court.
I am?
Yeah? She seems like it.
You are. I mean, yeah, everyone has their talents, but you... you're a triple threat. And you sound confident, but humble about it. You know what you can do, and you’re proud of it, but you aren’t throwing it in my face. On top of being incredibly talented, you’re sweet. And that’s pretty awesome.
——- Did she do that whole Bam, what! thing? Because she does that an awful lot.
Gardening was the only thing that kept me sane through all the times I moved – always reminded me of back home in Texas. And designing is somethin’ that I’ve liked since grade school – we had to create an outfit for any book character we wanted back in third grade, and my teacher actually thought I printed mine out. But the singin’ – I got that from my mama. She sang me to sleep since I was a baby, and then I started singin’ along.
That’s exactly what she did. And then she did this dance, and continued to taunt me until the game ended. I’ve never felt so attacked in my entire life.
You’re impeccably well-rounded, you know that?
She’s pretty hard to beat. Not even our daddy can win against her, and he’s just about the best player I ever met!
Me? Well, I sing – who doesn’t these days – but I also design. Anything that has to do with clothes, I love it. Then there’s gardening – that big ol’ garden in our backyard is all my work – I’ve been doin’ it since I was little tiny. That’s about it.
That’s pretty damn impressive. I don’t think I’ve ever been beaten so bad in my entire life. I scored a few points, but she stomped on them, and danced. Literally. She did a victory dance midway through the game. It was cute, but also very rattling.
Seriously? Maya, that’s amazing. I Mean, wow. Your garden is out of this world. And, you know, I like to think that I’m a very fashionable guy -- when I want to be -- but anyone who can design is pretty stellar to me. And not everyone can sing. Some people can’t hold water, let alone a note.
They really are. That’s her! Isn’t she just sweet as sugar? And so dang good at basketball, too! She’s been playin’ since we were little.
I can tell. She kicked my ass. I promised I’d get my revenge for that game, but I honestly don’t see that happening.
