To show its support for the fast food industry during the 2nd lockdown, BURGER KING in France ran this print ad in two of the biggest national newspapers. Cracking stuff.

Stage Your Driveway
A really smart insight driven campaign. High-end consumers are unlikely to respond to one-to-one communications, they’re also the quickest to make a purchase decisions. So the agency’s idea was to reach them at locations they were already visiting online and in-person. The solution? Turn homes for sale into showrooms.
Heinz Ketchup Pour Perfectly
Heinz has repositioned the labels on its ketchup bottles. The new position guides customers to hold the bottles at 45 degrees, the perfect angle to pour ketchup.
Ikea ThisAbles
Now, this is a smart idea. ThisAbles is a range of 3D printed attachments that are helping disabled people feel comfortable in their homes. No wonder it won the Grand Prix for Health and Wellness at Cannes this year.
Corona Fit Pack
A beautifully simple idea for reducing waste packaging. Corona also made the blueprints open source, so other drinks companies could follow their lead.
M&S Ant & Dec voiced cash till
Visit a Marks & Spencer right now and you’ll be greeted at the self-service cash till by the dynamic geordie duo Ant & Dec. I’ve seen this sort of thing before, but what sets this apart is how much their voices feature throughout the process.
Tap the Past
A beautifully simple idea from the National Trust for Scotland, Bank of Scotland and VISA to promote contactless.
They re-created beautiful replicas of a couple of the Trust’s most famous artefacts and integrated contactless technology. Allowing visitors to make a £2 donation to help preserve Scottish heritage for generations to come.
KLM Take-Off Tips
Everyone likes to do a little research before they travel. KLM is giving its passengers the chance get travel tips from fellow travellers via a hologram. The installation connects people in real time and projects them onto a transparent hologram fabric.
John Boston
Beautifully crafted cross-track posters. The copy, written by @andyflemming, is funny, engaging and informative. Lovely work.
Aeromexico DNA Discount
Aeromexico, Mexico’s largest airline, is tackling the border debate with an amusing discount scheme.
Nice little branding touch added to the CSS of the Ikea website,
Bone vs Steel
A very simple, but effective little campaign promoting pedestrian safety in Quebec.
Streetguard
A smart idea from Mexico that uses car alarms to protect women. It uses a simple device to activate all nearby car alarms, alerting the public if a woman needs help. I’m not sure if this actually worked, but it’s a nice idea all the same.
Kit Kat vending machine
I do love a vending machine. And this one for Kit Kat uses flight data at airports to hand out free Kit Kats to people on delayed flights. It works by scanning your boarding pass and matching it to the delayed flight list.
InstaWhopper
Interesting use of Instagram Stories by Burger King in Spain. They launched a series of stories about the Whopper’s ingredients, each one featured a poll that allowed viewers to generate a voucher for their own unique Whopper (sent through DM). The data from all of these polls was combined to create the InstaWhopper - a limited edition burger that appealed to the nation.
HomePod: Welcome Home
Spinke Jonze doing what Spike Jonze does with this spot for the Apple HomePod.
Nintendo Labo
Nintendo has always been a little bit different. While other games consoles concentrated on technical performance, they explored the playing experience – Wii Balance and amiibo.
When they launched the Switch 18 months ago, you could almost hear Microsoft and Sony sniggering at this odd little modular console. But it was Nintendo who had the last laugh as the Switch went on to become the fastest selling console in history.
So why am I telling you this? Well Nintendo has just released a new accessory for the Switch called LABO and it’s made of cardboard. You build the accessory, attach the controllers and away you go. It’s brilliantly simple.
