The Bellandi

There is a world, and in that world there is people.

Where people go there is war, and death, and blood.

Where war, death, and bloodshed go, the Bellandi follow.

The Bellandi follow a source of death, usually called a blood trail. The deaths have to be violent, because the Bellandi feed off of the anger and emotions keeping a soul trapped in their body. What keeps the soul trapped usually dissolves after a few days when the body decays, but the Bellandi speed up the process. By doing so, flowers grow on the corpses, blooming and withering within days. The longer the flowers stay, the stronger the Bellandi. 

Some Bellandi are old, older than the kingdoms whose dead they feed from. Those old Bellandi often have plenty of scavengers around them, carrion feeders who trust the Bellandi to lead them to food. The old Bellandi almost always have leftovers for the scavengers. Sometimes those scavengers will be from generations of scavengers who have followed the same Bellandi, and those ones often have the Bellandi flowers growing from their fur.

Older Bellandi need less to eat, some becoming entirely free from needing a blood trail, able to go decades without one. Younger Bellandi need far more, a consistent and strong blood trail. But young Bellandi are also far easier to push out of their blood trail. Sometimes, a Bellandi will try and steal another’s blood trail out of need, by either stealing the nutrients and starving the other, or locking the other inside one of the bodies. The old Bellandi sometimes will just consume the other.

Scott, Shelby, and Drift get to travel, Abolish can go home, MARTYN AND REN ARE ALIVE AND WELL, and the others can do whatever,

So, just found out Avid was nineteen.

Yall remember that Army dreamers verse? The one that goes “What could he do? Should have been a father, but he never even made it to his twenties.”

… I think you guys know where I’m going with this. There are parallels, and it’s a popular song for edits. It’s gotta happen eventually.

Avid was the fucking canary.

This shit kills me in multiple ways. Violently.

He wouldn’t be proud, he would be horrified. He would be horrified of what the person he learned to love turned into.

He would see Owen and he would mourn.

I feel like it would be much more comfortable if human toes were less stuck together. Have you ever seen a human skeleton? Those toes look like they should be separated. Give them some personal space from eachother.

Ok, I know everyone always makes Scott the dad and Owen the weird uncle when doing found family dynamics for the vampires.

BUT.

I feel like their so sibling coded, there's just so much potential. I can just see it.

Scott is the original older brother who was always perfect. He has an age gap between him and Owen, but not as a big an age gap as between Owen and Pyro.

Owen is the second born that had a rebellious era but is deceptively loyal to his gang of friends (just Legundo) that Scott is kind of ok with? (Not really, he just finds them interesting)

Pyro is the third oldest full sibling, but there's another large age gap. He's constantly trying to impress his older brothers but also wants to rebel.

Shelbys the favorite youngest child who acts deceptively naive but she hears everything and a rebellious streak runs in the family. Her and Pyro are fraternal twins. The reason their split into youngest and oldest is because Pyro chose to be rebellious and also try and get in more with their older brothers. Shelby chose faked naivety as protection against all the problems that run in their family.

Apo and Cleo are a pair of full siblings but they are the others half siblings. They were born sometime around when Owen was born. They found each other before meeting the others and it can be a strained relationship. They both grew up relatively stable and can see their siblings are distinctly Not.

Drift and Avid are a close pair of friends/cousins that basically grew up together as siblings, but they were close neighbors. They both got very close to Shelby at some point. Avid disliked Scott and Owen when he first saw them with Shelby.

It was hatred at first sight. He was an angry little bean.

They aren't actually related to the others, but Drift eventually moves in with them because of some reason (parents moving away/dying, or just wanting to spread her wings.) Avid refuses to move in with them, but visits often enough it's not really uncommon to find him passed out on the couch because Shelby had to drag him home to sleep.

I can imagine this as a modern AU where their shared parent (I'm gonna go with father) ends up dying and Scott and Owen make a deal to help raise their younger siblings. Eventually Cleo and Apo move in when they meet (Their dad told them family before anything, no matter what.) They all generally live together in either a smallish apartment or a relatively large manor that Scott inherited. Avid just doesn't like how condescending Scott and Owen can be, and they think messing with him is funny. Owen ends up getting a bit more annoyed with Avid, and Scott just thinks it’s funny.

Scott would be around 27ish, and Owen would be

24. Cleo and Apo would be 22-23. Shelby and Pyro would be anywhere from 17 - 19. Drift in Avid would be about a year apart, but they would be close in age with Shelby and Pyro.

Adding onto this, because WOW, stuff HAPPENED.

Sausage would be a kid that they’ve known since they were young. He was an only child and lowkey fantasized about being one of them. A platonic crush if you would. He ends up moving in with them because it would save money (excuses excuses). Around 23-24 ish?

Pearl and Ren are half siblings. Rens around 26-30, and Pearls the same age as Cleo/a year younger. They had the same dad, but Ren only met him when he was around twelve/thirteen. He still hangs out with his mother, and that’s why he has such a different accent to Pearl. Their dad was a hunter, and they grew up with a lot of different mounts and hunting/tracking dogs. Ren travels a lot to meet new people, so when Pearl wants to go to a new college he goes with her. Pearl meets Cleo in college, and through that and an invite to family dinner, Pearl meets the rest. Scott and her have a little red riding hood inside joke because once when she was staying the night, she was wrapped up in a red blanket raising the fridge, and noticed him fast. He said she had sharp ears, and she replied “All the better to hunt you with.” Ren met Scott and thought he was a lot younger, but turns out Scott’s older than Ren. Everyone was surprised. Scott looks young, Ren looks old. Ren and Scott are also friends in this, so with that as you will.

Abolish. Literally just his canon backstory without the murder. His family worked with rich families, and eventually they sent him away to experience the world after his parents died (boi needs to mourn and cope) but instead he decided to bunker down. Around Cleo’s age.

Legundo is Owen’s age, but he’s actually a prodigy. Kind of. When he was younger he enlisted as a field medic with parental consent. Ended up getting stuck in a cave with water bottles and no food… other than bodies. You know where that goes. Eventually he’s found, and now he spends his time as an assistant in a medical-esque place. Him and Owen are close, but they also have gotten to the point where they step on each others toes. They met when Legs was freshly back from work, and kind of just connected? If you know what I mean.

Martyn… His dad was a scam artist (obviously) and Martyn was his primary scam. Y’know, the poor injured child needs help scam. Eventually his dad got a good deal and left Martyn on the side of the road, saying he had to go somewhere but he would be back. Martyn believed him and ended up wandering around halfway homeless for around a month. Ren found him one day shivering and lounged in an alley. After trying to give him food, where Martyn denies being homeless, Ren says he should go home then. Martyn says he is waiting for his dad to get him, Ren asks how long Martyns been waiting… Ren does not like the answer. Martyn goes home with Ren, and Pearl has words about Ren adopting a random child. Martyn eventually meets the others, only really is close with Sausage and Ren. Sometimes hangs out with Pearl or Cleo, but they try to get him to hang out with people his age. Shelby and Drift are his favorites, because Avid is anxiety personified and Pyro is Pyro. Martyns a year or so younger than the others.

Avids sister, Elle, died after going insane. Avid got a scar when he was younger right on his neck, and he nervously scratches at it aloud, so it’s less a scar and more a constant scab. His family has a history of insanity.

Louis and Owen were highschool lovebirds, but Louis died in an explosive car crash after other kids in their school were drunk driving. Owen blamed those kids and had to be homeschooled because he was having very violent fantasies.

Owen said Avid had the makings of a monster. And Avid did. Avid could become two monsters, a vampire or something worse. Or he would die and be remembered as a crazy one.

But Owen became his own monster. He became the monster that the people who killed Louis were to him. He repeated the very act that led to a massacre.

And with the way things are going, Owen might become more and more like the people who killed Louis.

He might die like them.

You guys remember limbo? Well, Avids in limbo now.

You know who else might be in limbo?

Luois.

And when they meet, maybe Louis will shake his head, heave a little sigh, and invite Avid to accompany him in the limbo.

Because they both will see the cycle repeat itself, but Louis has already seen it.

The only question is, when the cycle repeats and the people die, who will be reunited with their love in Limbo, and who will have to watch as the one who is theirs walks the earth until the cycle repeats in two hundred years.

Maybe every massacre in Oakhurst was for love. Maybe the one four hundred years ago was between a human and vampire.

Maybe, everytime Oakhurst lives and dies, it lives and dies for a snuffed out love.

Thoughts On Vsmp because I am Unwell.

I have a very inconsistent watch schedule and limited amount of people watched beyond clips, so I might have skewed perspectives.

Scott’s the wolf. There is no wolf in sheep’s clothing, he is the wolf. He is the wolf that wears the smile of a man and dead eyes far too human. He knows what is happening, and he’s the threat. He was the puppet master pulling the strings, and now he’s performing with the rest of them.

Abolish is the fox. He snuck into the coop and killed the chickens, both literally and metaphorically. He’s stayed quiet for long enough, and now people are noticing. Also, he gives off Fox vibes to me.

Martyns a unicorn. Now I know, that’s usually Scott. BUT! If he’s a unicorn, he’s a unicorn who went mad. He’s surrounded by what is considered dark, and he’s going to get rid of it. He will stab and kill to purify it. 

Legundo is the one who preaches to others, because he hopes he can save himself. He feels guilt for what he did and what he does, and he’s hoping to fix it by saving others. Because maybe if he saves enough of them, he won’t feel like a monster wearing the skin of a man.

Sausage is it sheep in wolf’s clothing. Yes, he’s a vampire now. But he’s not quite a threat? Atleast not to most. And if he’s is I don’t think he’s revealed it yet. 

Apo is alone. Atleast I think she is? They’ve stuck with the townsfolk over the vampires, but to the townsfolk she’s a threat. To the vampires they’re a traitor. She has nowhere to go, but time is marching, and they have to keep up.

Shelby. Shelby Shelby Shelby. She’s what I would call naive, if I didn’t REALLY think on it. I would usually stop at sayings she’s naive, loyal, and relatively clean handed compared to the others. But she’s also not, because no one in vampires is. I can’t really do justice to her description because I haven’t seen her pov and she seems like she had a lot more layers. That goes for quite a few characters, really.

Pyro. Now Pyro, I understand. He’s the rooster, the canary. He’s a faulty warning, because he sees something as dangerous when it is not. His turning began this entire thing, and every episode, or atleast most of them, he’s been the one in the drama. 

Owen’s kind of like a crow. Kind of. He’s smart, and he’s vengeful. He remembers the past because it was barely the past for him. I also have barely seen his pov so there is DEFINITELY more to it that I don’t know, but he’s angry. And yes, he should be. He’s barely had time to mourn because of the coma, and now new people are coming into his town again.

Pearls a Hunter. She will put a bolt between their eyes if they’re a threat. She will fight. But she’s also aware that she can very well become the hunted. And maybe, at this point, she already has in some way.

Avid… is avid. He’s a martyr and a madman. He got drunk off the idea of being a vampire, turn at the first real word of joining them. And he died for what he did before. He carried guilt like a burden, but at the same time not at all. He’s gone a bit loopy, but off course he did. I’m more surprised the others didn’t.

Ren is a livestock dog. Atleast from what I saw, he’s an old guide who’s trying to work with the others. I haven’t seen much of him in recent videos, so I don’t have much to say, but he’s was a voice of reason. And I know Cleo’s usually the LGD but

Cleo’s a farmer, a shepherd. Similiar to LGD, but different. She protects the flock, she guides them, and when the time comes, she will do as a farmer will do, and she will harvest from the flock. From the flocks eyes she’s a murderer, from her eyes it’s simply how the world will go. 

Drift. I haven’t seen much of her either, haven’t seen much of a lot of the cast. But she’s probably the one that I know the least about next to Sausage. Apo and Shelby too, but they’re less “I just don’t know”, and more “complicated enough that I don’t understand”. From what I’ve seen of Drift, she’s got all the makings of a martyr. Not a monster, a martyr. Her and Avid both, doomed siblings. She’s intertwined with the cast, and hasn’t got any really enemy’s beyond the town. People care about her, like they care about Shelby, although maybe to a lesser extent. 

And that is how I view a lot of the vampires members, as someone who has a very inconsistent amount of episodes watched by a very limited group of people. PLEASE tell me how you view them, especially if you have a more varied list of people you watch.

Just finished Avids episode, saw some clips, very much regret it.

Started: Oh, their so cute. Kind of obsessive, but cute.

Ended: Oh my gosh he just wanted to go home. He was a kid. I need reparations. I need to sue. I need to stop obsessing about block people. I NEED TO SUE.
