"I'm so sorry I let this happen to you."
It’s so hard to. To keep. Going. The small act of moving her head took work. Something.
Something was very wrong.
Something was lodged in her threat. Black. Thick. Slender. Metal--yes, she could taste the metal. It felt sharp. It was so long, it jetted out of her neck and pressed against her cheek and yet, she could still not see what it was. She could not move her neck. The rest of her body would not listen when she told it to let her arms go up and for her hands to grab it. All Cassandra could do was lay limb in Bruce’s arms, take his warmth while her fingers and feet went to ice, and dart her blown black eyes up at him.
“Gaa...gius...” She gurgled; something hot slipped fast out of her loop sided mouth. It over flowed from her throat; heavy like gravy, coppery like metal corns, burning like boiling water.
She saw the sign of it. It was red and black. Mixed because there was much. Blood.
Cassandra’s eyes had been on the ground, following the train of blood coming out of her, and then she looked up at Bruce.
Words. Those words he said. They were sad. Bruce was...sad.
Bruce would have yelled at her if there wasn’t something to be sad about.
She wasn’t going to make it.
Her eyes went wide in that realization. In that split second, her body went into hyper driver and she started hyperventilating. Breath she didn’t have was fighting to stay in her deflating lungs, but couldn’t. Her skin felt like it was crawling with spiders. She arched her back and let out a formless, blood covered keen as tears fell from her fear stricken eyes.
She looked at Bruce--Bruce Bruce Batman Daddy Bruce--and she wanted it all to stop. The first time she died, Cassandra wanted. The second time she died, it happened too fast for her to even realize she was dead.
Now it was a third time; and this time she was afraid. She wasn’t ready, she wanted to tell Bruce. I want to stay!
Beg to him to keep her alive. Let her stay with him. She’ll be more careful!
Just. DON’T. LET. ME G_____________
But the blood took her words and the next second, it were drowning her until her head snapped back, broken off like a lifeless doll played with too roughly.
