“Somehow, a part of me still believes you are my soulmate. That you’re just lost, and you’ll find your way back to me eventually.”
— but how long will that take? ( @words-of-heartbreak )

I’m trying to teach my daughters how to:
Love her body without doubt; without shame.
Enjoy taking care of it; love self care, meditate, run, breathe.
Not to take shit from anyone; create boundaries and stand strong.
Kiss trauma goodbye. Forgive and move on.
Sit with silence; be strong enough to be her own “the one.”
Believe she is worthy. Accept good things.
To be confident in whatever. Let style be art.
To dance while everyone is looking and when no one cares.
Smile and cry. It’s okay to be sad when nothing is wrong.
Say goodbye to people who can’t love her.
Continue breathing.
Things I’m still trying to learn:
Love my body without doubt; without shame.
Enjoy taking care of it; love self care, meditate, run, breathe,
Not to take shit from anyone; create boundaries and stand strong.
Kiss trauma goodbye. Forgive and move on.
Sit with silence; be strong enough to be my own “the one.”
Believe I am worthy. Accept good things.
To be confident in whatever. Let style be art.
To dance while everyone is looking and when no one cares.
Smile and cry. It’s okay to be sad when nothing is wrong.
Say goodbye to people who can’t love me.
Continue breathing.
Raise my daughters to be the women I want to be/will be. Someday.
Motherhood is sleepless nights and endless feedings and dirty diapers and cold coffee and holding your bladder and forgetting to feed yourself and screaming fits and tears (not just the baby) and mom guilt and mom guilt and mom guilt But motherhood is also first smiles and laughing while dreaming and little toes and fingers and that baby smell–you know the one–and cuddles and cute clothes and discovering–people, places, smells, books–together and grace and love and love and love
“I was with them and yet I was alone.”
