making a post that i can reblog from to make private posts until (hopefully just "until" lol) i figure out another way or until tumblr fixes the possible glitches/mistake that requires private posts are reblogs
dunno if anyone else would need or want to, but feel free to use this post for the same reason!
(link to a post where i explain, as of 31 May 2026, how to currently share private tumblr posts with other people)
(photo is cute pool thermometers from my grandparents' house :D)
wellp lol. the only way i found to share a private tumblr post with other people is by:
using the mobile app
REBLOGGING from another post but saving that reblog as a draft
typing what you want to be the private post as part of the reblog
clicking the menu next to the original poster's name to get the Copy Link button, and copying the link from there
all variations of the above steps from tumblr's desktop version lead to "no post found" if you weren't the one who made the post, and all the "share private post" url's i got from making a private post from scratch also gave "no post found."
functional webbed site moment
(if anyone sees this and knows a more intuitive way, lmk. but please first test it yourself first because. wowza. you'd really think you'd just be able to share a private post if you wanted qfjqsksqk. i'm assuming there's some glitching or accidents involved here, or i somehow missed something obvious)
i've seen a fair amount of people make what i'm assuming is a mistake in regards to an important plot point in Hazbin season 2:
the mistake: thinking Vox announced to Hell about Lucifer's "can't do nothing [to sinners]" punishment, and now all sinners know Lucifer is harmless.
what ACTUALLY happened: it's still a secret that Lucifer can't hurt sinners. almost no one knows. (also, Lucifer is far from weak or harmless.)
let's break this down.
(i'm a wordy person, so i made this post more skimmable with large and emphasized text on the main points.)
▶️ first off, it's been some time now since the episodes released, so let's review the order that the story reveals events.
S2 EPISODE 5: Vaggi goes to Lucifer for help, hoping he'll stop Vox from bothering Charlie and badmouthing the hotel.
Lucifer lets Vaggi in on "a little secret," that any threats Lucifer makes toward Vox will be empty, but he'll nonetheless try to scare him.
Vox holds his rally, Lucifer shows up, and Vox and the Vees stand up to Lucifer, the latter of whom leaves in frustration and humiliation since he can't actually do anything to affect them.
S2 EPISODE 6 (like, late in episode 6): Vox reveals to Angel Dust he's been using him as a spy, which is how Vox knew he could get away with harassing and confronting Lucifer.
what i'm getting at with the above point: s2 episode 5 is Vox's rally, and it's only in the following episode where we learn about Angel Dust's hypnotism and spying and about Vox being aware of Lucifer's weakness.
if we as the audience weren't supposed to be (fully) aware yet that Vox knows -- confused or suspicious maybe, but not fully aware -- then the in-universe general public almost definitely wouldn't know.
▶️ for the next point, Vox during the rally says to Lucifer, "you won't do it!"
he doesn't say "you CAN'T do it."
"won't" implies choice. "can't" implies actual ability, whether that ability is hindered by internal obstacles (e.g. physical strength or mental ability) or external obstacles (e.g. Lucifer's punishment). using "can't" in this way isn't a hard and fast rule -- it can sometimes be used for things that are by choice, such as it can be said about a staunch vegan, "they can't eat cheese" -- but it's a decent general rule.
so Vox's lines -- "You won't do it! You're weak!" -- are him playing with Hell's assumption that willingness and ability to physically hurt others are the main things that make someone a threat (rather than manipulation or other means).
more importantly for the point of this post, Vox is saying to Lucifer for the crowd, "You're too mentally weak to actually attack me (and everyone can see how cool and brave i am for standing up to you)."
He's NOT saying, "You're actually physically fully incapable of attacking me."
(don't worry, i'll get into Vox's "they clipped your wings and chained you down here" line later.)
▶️ later, in s2 episode 7 -- even later than the timeline reviewed earlier in this post -- Vox says to captured Lucifer, "We BOTH know you can't harm sinners."
if word were out, he would have said, "Everyone knows," "All of Hell knows," or similar.
instead, Vox only says, "We both know" -- him and Lucifer, the two who are having the current conversation.
Vox enjoys seeing people uncomfortable and upset. the following is character/writing conjecture, but, if all of Hell DID know, he would have told Lucifer that. that would have been upsetting for Lucifer -- or, at the very least, annoying -- because it would mean he'd lost what little hold he has over a populace he doesn't respect.
Vox probably is aware Alastor knew about Lucifer's weakness (or became so shortly after anyway), and i especially imagine Vox told the other Vees, given how they hadn't seemed concerned for Vox and how they swung Lucifer all around the rally stage. but, since Vox didn't have reason to tell Lucifer that "everyone" knows, he says "both" -- him and Lucifer. Vox is being mockingly buddy-buddy, as well as keeping the conversation about just the two of them. (it's Vox's moment, after all! /ref)
▶️ the first part of the following is a weaker point because we all probably know Lucifer's a bit scatterbrained at the best of times lol, but:
Lucifer was the one getting ranted at and prodded onstage, getting his insecurities riled up, and, even with that, even with being on guard, he wasn't aware Vox knew.
again, more character conjecture, but Lucifer likely would have had a different reaction to leaving the rally if he thought his limitation had just been outed in front of a large televised crowd. instead, he just huffs and firmly turns away, his anger not really escalating past where it had already been.
BUT, MORE IMPORTANTLY, Lucifer still tried to threaten Vox two episodes later.
Lucifer threatening to smite Vox is what prompted Vox to say the previously mentioned "we both know you can't harm sinners" line. Lucifer's response to that was "Explains the showboating," meaning ONLY IN THAT MOMENT, ONLY AFTER HE'D BEEN CAPTURED, did he understand why Vox felt safe to stand up to him at the rally. the secret was NOT out before then.
▶️ next, and i feel this is the strongest argument in this post, CAMERA USE IS A VITAL STORYTELLING TOOL.
if Lucifer's limitation had just been revealed in the "Vox Populi" interlude where Vox aggravates him,
there likely would have been a lot more focus on the crowd's reaction to Vox's lines.
instead, the above three screenshots -- Vox standing with his arms spread, first toward Lucifer then toward the crowd -- and the following two screenshots are the order of camera positions and angles we as viewers of a TV show are given.
it's all just Vox, then Lucifer leaving, Vox again (lol. so much Vox), and then the other Vees pushing Lucifer around the stage.
so, again, if Lucifer's weakness had just been revealed, there likely would have been more focus on the crowd. we probably would have gotten a focus on people's facial expressions and changes in mood as they exclaim to each other in surprise.
if the camera angle of Lucifer turning away had been removed, we could have seen the crowd's reaction to the "grand reveal" using the below screenshot's angle while still seeing Lucifer turning away onstage
(one of the same images as before)
if Vox had just told everyone Lucifer can't do anything to them, then the second shot with sinners in the foreground could have stayed up longer so we could see their reactions to the news.
since this was NOT the camera choice made, this means Lucifer's reaction to getting rebuffed by Vox is more important than the crowd's reaction.
further, it's very likely if "delivering Hell-changing news" were the point of this moment, rather than Vox continuing to hype up a crowd during a musical interlude, at least a few of the reacting and emoting sinners would be fully colored and animated, like they are through much the rest of the song. instead, they're simplified silhouettes.
an example of what it could look like if the crowd were given more attention is in the season 1 song "Ready For This" (link is timestamped), when the cannibals get excited about the idea of eating angels and are now interested in helping Charlie.
(a screenshot of the mentioned moment from "Ready For This," and a screenshot of the level of detail the sinners at the rally would probably have been illustrated to look like if people finding out about Lucifer's weakness were the point of the scene:)
with this particular moment in Vox Populi, though, since Lucifer's secret being outed would be SUCH a huge deal, maybe two camera angles or more of an onscreen emotion change would work better, to give more impact.
▶️ so what about Vox's "[Heaven] ... chained you down here" line?
i do a bit of reaching here, because this portion confused me a bit, ngl, but, the point is, it's meant mainly symbolically, not literally, and it's NOT openly announcing Lucifer's weakness.
the whole line is "[Heaven] didn't banish you. They clipped your wings and chained you down here. Well, I got no chains on me! Who's with me!?"
so, let's look at that in separate parts:
"[Heaven] didn't banish you." yes, Heaven did banish Lucifer. (for the curious, the line from the show's intro about the creation of Hell is "Heaven cast Lucifer and his love into the dark pit he had created." doesn't technically use the word "banished," but the effect is still there.) or, even if it turns out he technically wasn't banished, that's still not the point here. because, the intent of Vox saying this isn't to contradict the story of Lucifer creating Hell. Vox says it for emphasis, to say, "the worst part of your punishment wasn't banishment. instead: -
"- They clipped your wings ..." Vox is speaking metaphorically. maybe we'll learn eventually that Heaven did literally clip Lucifer's wings and his feathers regrew, but, again, the literal interpretation isn't the point. as it is, Vox and the whole crowd saw Lucifer fly in using his wings, so we can know Vox isn't being literal here. what Vox could mean here is Heaven humiliated Lucifer and made him into a lesser being than he originally was, before getting sent to Hell.
"... and chained you down here!" since Vox isn't speaking literally in these lines, no, he wasn't talking about Lucifer's limitation in regards to sinners -- he's not talking about how Heaven has restricted how Lucifer can act. Vox was more talking about how Lucifer is stuck in Hell.
"Well, I got no chains on me! Who's with me?!" Vox had just been singing and dancing about how he's going to lead Hell in storming Heaven. of course he'd need to sound confident about being able to get there. so, here he's implying "Lucifer might be helpless and stuck down here, but we won't be, not with me leading you!"
▶️ almost to the end!! now consider:
Vox was being a snot, a silly goober if you will, when he said to Lucifer after capturing him, "We're past all that, remember? We both know you can't harm sinners."
(link to the line, timestamped, since the movements and line delivery are important)
we already covered the "we both know" aspect of the line, but there also might be confusion about Vox saying "remember," as if he expects Lucifer to already know that he knows.
but Vox is gloating and fooling around here. he's more saying, "remember how i gave you such a difficult time at the rally?" and he combines that with insincere familiarity, pretending that they have an inside joke between them, pretending that Lucifer should already "remember" that Vox is aware of the limitation.
then Vox's demeanor shifts from joking levity to predatory and leaning aggressively forward when he says, "We both know you can't harm sinners." Vox knows he's delivering this news to Lucifer for the first time. Vox knows that Lucifer hadn't been aware of his knowledge, and Vox is enjoying telling him and shaking Lucifer's security.
▶️ very quick final point: most likely, someone else in the main hotel cast would have mentioned that Lucifer's secret was out or would have been openly shocked by the information.
that group was pretty on top of Vox's public declarations and plans. :p
_______
one contradiction:
▶️ if we're really digging into word choice, Vox tells Angel Dust, "How do you think I knew ... that Lucifer couldn't do anything?!"
recall that Vox originally said Lucifer "won't" hurt him, but he's now saying Lucifer "couldn't."
him saying this to Angel Dust makes it seem as if Angel Dust knew all these things, too: that Lucifer couldn't do anything, and that Angel was aware Vox knew standing up to Lucifer was safe. (Angel Dust doesn't remember anything he informed Vox of while under mind control, so he wouldn't be aware of Lucifer's limitation before Vox said it.)
if it's still an in-world secret that Lucifer can't harm sinners, it staying a secret would have been more clear if the line were "How do you think I knew ... that Lucifer wouldn't do anything" or similar.
_____
✨ ▶️ IN CONCLUSION: ◀️ ✨
by the end of season 2, even with that change in word choice in the above "contradictory" scene with Angel Dust, it seems that almost no one knows about Lucifer's limitation.
the only people who know FOR SURE are Vox, Vaggi, Alastor, and Lucifer himself.
that's ONLY FOUR PEOPLE in all of Hell.
▶️ Velvette and Valentino might know, given how little they seemed to worry about Vox during the rally and how fearlessly they threw Lucifer around the stage, but that's not confirmed.
▶️ Angel Dust might know too. i wasn't sure about this at first, but, toward the end of the season before moving back into V Tower, he recounts that he was spying on the hotel for a long while, so he maybe does remember everything Vox told him before getting hypnotized that final time.
______
partially related asides:
▶️ Vox's "How do you think i knew the angels were coming" to Angel Dust seems to only refer to the season 1 finale extermination that focused on the hotel, not Charlie and Sera's diplomatic envoy at the rally.
▶️ idk if it'll ever get used in the story (probably and hopefully it will), but Lucifer is still crazy strong lol. he probably CAN do almost anything he wants because of how strong he is, EXCEPT for harm sinners.
he has this limitation, but he's no weakling. he can still attack angels, hellborn, and the land and buildings of Hell itself.
▶️ we don't know exactly what Lucifer's limitations are. all he explained is he can't smite anyone and he "can't do nothing." "can't kill 'em" was just one example of something he can't do.
(the full explanation he gives is: "I cannot smite [Vox or anyone], no. It's kinda part of the whole 'Hell' thing. Y'see, it isn't just a place, it's a punishment. And MINE is that I'm stuck here with all these sinners. Can't KILL 'em, can't do NOTHIN' with 'em, so I just have to ignore them.")
this last point may not amount to anything, and maybe the show DID only mean Lucifer can't harm sinners, but it's something to wait to learn more about. (in the meantime, though, of course write all the fics and theories you want lol. we've got a long wait 'til season 3.)
______
AND THAT'S IT!! :D
given all i typed up, I COULD STILL BE WRONG, and i say that in all sincerity.
i would be surprised if season 3 contradicts what i've pointed out and it turns out all the sinners DO know Lucifer's harmless to them, and i'd be even more surprised if Vox's rally was mentioned as the only source for sinners to know (rather than maybe people eventually figuring it out, thanks to the rally as a spark of confusion and then using other things as more evidence), but i'd shrug and move on.
it might sound inconsistent with everything i pointed out here, but this show isn't all that careful about how it words and sets up many things, and it sometimes skips over establishing information in-world for the sake of pacing. but that's all a different topic lol
EDIT (but still added before this post went public lol):
after typing up AAAAAAAALL of this,
i realized that Vox's "We both know you can't harm sinners" demeanor could be interpreted as him being bitter about Lucifer not recognizing him. wide strained grin, over the top playfulness to hide insecurity. (Lucifer a moment before: "Hey wait, you're...! -maybe can't remember name- ...You're not Charlie." and Vox responds with a grin that can be taken as either patronizing or upset, which are very different readings. i've tended toward "upset" for that grin, but still interpreted his subsequent lines as goofing around.)
to me, Vox's nicknames to Lucifer ("Lucifer! LU! Luciiii!") afterward and "We're past all that" still read as evil smugness and playfulness, especially with how Vox's eyes widen at the end of "We both know you can't harm sinners," rather than narrowing into a sharper glare. but i can't be sure of the intention of that moment anymore lol.
if how Vox acts there is actually suppressed anger at Lucifer and it's not smugness, that does open a large hole in Vox's confidence and in how the audience is supposed to perceive his control of Lucifer's secret.
again, i don't find Hazbin to be especially careful or reliable in its writing. so, even with everything i said in this post, I GUESS WE'LL JUST NEED TO WAIT UNTIL SEASON 3 TO KNOW FOR SURE HOW WIDELY KNOWN LUCIFER'S LIMITATION IS FQKFQJQKSFFQKYNQKNQ
also, some people in a Hazbin server i'm in made me realize it's unconfirmed whether Angel Dust and the other two Vees know, so i changed my "in conclusion" section from all the Vees and Angel Dust to only Vaggi, Alastor, Lucifer, and Vox.
(i made a poll on this post's topic because i got nervous after typing so much that maybe most viewers did interpret it as all of Hell knows; i wondered if i was reading into things that weren't supposed to be read into LOL.
the amount of discussion did surprise me -- i stayed out of the conversation until the poll ended to keep out my bias -- but people did overall settle on "most sinners don't know." [small-ish group: 15 votes, and only one person in the end stayed with "basically all the sinners know," so the discussion came to variations of the conclusion i have here, such as some people thinking savvy sinners might catch on, but most of the populace won't sqfksqks] )
SHORT VERSION OF THIS "EDIT" SECTION: YEAH, I COULD VERY WELL BE WRONG. WE'LL HOPEFULLY FIND OUT WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THIS IN SEASON 3 QSFKFQKSQKSQJSK (or maybe in an interview with a crew member before then)
(END EDIT LOOOOOOOL WHEEEEEEEEEEEZE)
______
SO WOW!!! YIPPEE YAHOO YAY YIPPEE MAJOR KUDOS IF YOU MADE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THIS POST LOL
thanks for reading, and hopefully my writing and explanations were helpful and made sense! if not, let me know and i'll try to clarify :D
or let me know if it seems like i totally misinterpreted something or otherwise got something wrong! thanks again!!
an hour after finishing the post (scheduling it for Monday or smth. and i do actually have a few more small edits to make), i realized i might be wrong 💀💀
like one of those "used the right formula but got the wrong answer" situations, because Hazbin just does its own thing and doesn't really follow writing rules
started a poll in a Hazbin server after it really started bugging me, and people are torn and really discussing LOL. oh boy. now i have "find out if Lucifer's nerf is public knowledge or not" on my season 3 bingo card SFQSKSQKSQKS
EDIT: THE POST IS SCHEDULED AAAAAAAWWWW YEEEAAAAAAHHHHHH
oh wow. i've had this in my drafts since 27 December 2022. some photos i took of a kneaded eraser i molded for drawing reference or for reference sculpting in a 3D program :p
only molded half of the face, but what a neat little dragon head :D
The fact that Vox is in love with Alastor is actually really incomprehensible when you think about it from the perspective of the rest of Hell. I know Alastor is regarded within the fandom as a Tumblr Sexyman, but everything we have seen of him from the viewpoint of other Sinners in the show is he is definitely NOT appealing.
As a human, yes. But as a demon most people do not find him particularly funny....
Or charming....
Or tolerable....
The general consensus we have seen from Sinners is he's probably smelly and his hair looks greasy/ugly.
Compare that with Vox and the Vees who are sex icons in Hell. Their faces are their brand and their appeal is what makes them so popular.
Vox was voted the hottest sinner in Hell. (I guess it's canon now).
You basically have Hell's richest eligible bachelor enamored with a stinky cannibal in a torn coat who eats rotting roadkill.
It really makes me want to see more flashbacks of the two of them and how they met so I can even begin to fathom how Alastor accidentally seduced the TVMan.
was originally going to leave this as a comment but i rambled lol. so here's a reblog, and also a highlight of prev's tags which i love:
#I love that the fandom perception is that Al is out of Vox’s league while the canon in-universe perception is the exact opposite
(no obligation for op, prev, or anyone else to respond, altho it could be fun -- again, i just rambled and didn't want to permanently delete my paragraphs :p)
now to the post: to start off, when i say "my problem is," it's about the show's writers lol, not op. so:
my problem is, it can be difficult to tell the Hazbin writers' intentions, simply from potentially sloppy writing. they're aware the audience thinks Alastor is cool and they give him cool moments, and then characters being annoyed by him and him purposefully annoying others seem to mainly be used as jokes.
but Hazbin and Helluva Boss have a problem where jokes undercut their worldbuilding, and the writers also seem to lose track of what the audience is supposed to know or not know -- the writers are so aware of certain worldbuilding aspects, that they sometimes under explain important concepts.*
on a similar note (about intending certain things but displaying something else), i remember one Alastor fan even saying that they want to see Alastor win one battle onscreen. he got a moment in s1 episode 5 ("Dead Beat Dad," the Lucifer episode), when he took down the loan sharks, but, outside that, we've only been told he's strong, and then seen him get wiped across the floor. (i might be forgetting some scene or other where he is successful, honestly. correct me if i'm wrong.)
worldbuilding-wise, there's no reason to doubt that he's strong. but it'd be nice to see it decisively proven. (we'll probably get that in season 3, but yikes about it taking that long after how "strongest sinner" was apparently supposed to be his schtick for these first two seasons.)
to get to my point (just the single next paragraph lol):
i can't tell if the writers intend to make Alastor look uncool in-universe, or if they just like poking jokes at their resident cool guy, and thus accidentally set up that he's actually uncool in-world.
(i have a feeling there's lots of commentary from the creators about Alastor being a loser and uncool, but, unless given reason otherwise, i'd assume those are mostly made in jest and not declarations about how they mean for Hell as a whole to view him. the writers do like to make fun of probably all of their characters, which is fine. it'd just be better if narrative choices seemed more purposeful more often.)
anyway, i love takes like the one in this post because they're hilarious and accurate to what we're given lol.
_____
*not necessary to what i'm saying above, but in case anyone wonders, these are the main examples i can think of off the top of my head about Hazbin's worldbuilding being undercut for the sake of jokes and about concepts being underexplained.
jokes likely undercutting worldbuilding:
when Adam and Charlie first meet, Adam says both Heaven and Hell have herpes. Heaven has herpes???? but i'm going to assume that's more just a joke the writers thought was funny, not an actual fact about the Hazbin universe. because otherwise... ??????
St. Peter swears in his introduction, probably as a joke, but then the heavenly court is shocked when Charlie later swears. we'd already been introduced to Adam, literally the character who swears the most in the show, so St. Peter swearing just has viewers go "okay, so, in this show, they swear a lot in heaven too. it's not just Adam." the court being shocked at Charlie's swearing could be meant as a statement about hypocrisy, but it's not set up well. (i was surprised and confused by the court moment when i first watched the show, two other people who i later watched it with were momentarily confused, and i was told another person who watched it at another point was also confused. that's a lot of confused viewers lol, especially over smth that probably wasn't supposed to be confusing)
some examples of underexplained or poorly explained worldbuilding:
it was never established until the second to last episode of season 1 that exorcists cannot be harmed. that information came out of left field. the most we got in regards to that was Lute in the first episode saying, "They've never managed to kill one of us before." that wording doesn't imply they're invulnerable. in fact, "managed to kill" implies they can be harmed or fought against, but that specifically being killed is unthinkable. (until clarified late in the season, because of that line's wording, i'd been under the impression exorcists are basically "high defense, high HP" severe threats, and that Hell didn't have the resources or strength to cause any harm that matters, but that sinners could cause minor damage -- and then get killed, so it wasn't worth it for sinners to try fighting back, only to run or hide)
it's unclear if the exorcists were made literally just to be exorcists, possibly made by Adam, given they're all humanoid women (we do see that Heaven has a lot of non-human and animal-based forms, so, if they were normal people who made it to Heaven, we'd expect a mix of human and non-human exorcists). exorcists' origins are made more confusing because in season 2 when Vaggi wanted to choose a new name, the assumption would be she could go back to her human name from when she'd been presumably alive, rather than using the name Adam gave her.
Sir Pentious wasn't able to visit Hell in season 2, despite Vaggi and Charlie pretty freely moving back and forth between Heaven and Hell in season 1 (after getting whatever permission they needed), and same with the exorcists being able to -- more or less -- freely go between realms. all we get about why Sir Pentious can't go bacj is Emily saying, "I forgot to mention, you're not able to leave," and Sera saying, "I'm sorry we can't bring him." (honestly, this point i suspect is more the writers rewriting their own rules for the sake of giving season 2 a plot, not accidentally underexplained worldbuilding.)
i'm also still waiting for solid canon confirmation that sinners can only be permanently killed by angelic steel. this is common in fanon, and maybe it was mentioned in some livestream or other, but this would not have been my guess just from the show
that's just off the top of my head. if i were to rewatch while looking for these things, i'd likely find more examples.
if i succeed in staying with Dracula Daily this year, it'll be my fourth time reading the book! :D the times i read it:
read it the first time in 2015 (holy crap that's over a decade ago at this point) because......... i was obsessed with Hotel Transylvania and figured i might as well read the source material (lol), even tho i knew there would probably be almost no similarities. i loved the book.
reread the book some time a few years later because i wanted to reread a fave :)
DRACULA DAILY IN 2022
and "you are here" yippeeeeeee!!
even if i fall behind, i hope to finish it on my own time. besides, even in 2022 i fell behind pretty badly; ended up depending on listening to Cryptic Canticles' audio while doing chores and cooking to get back on track, so i'm going to try to not pressure myself too hard
all is fair in love and 20-50 page Dracula entries in single days LOL (i'm expecting to start "reading ahead" when the entries get longer and more frequent in September. and beware October 3)
i got such an awesome collection of gifts this Christmas, one of the items being the Dracula Daily book (as in, entries in the Dracula Daily order, not the original book order, and with fanart and silly posts included in the margins)
i last read Dracula in 2022 when i discovered Dracula Daily. might re-attempt it this year, using that book :)
tried my hand at a more "on model" box head Vox face :p first image is mine, second is canon
______
changes: thinner eyebrows, inner-to-outer eye corners not angled upward as steeply, eyes horizontally wider and clipping off screen. also technically a wider mouth compared to when he talks in the screenshotted moment and fewer teeth, but Vox's mouth width and tooth count change often enough anyway
something new i noticed while working on this: Vox usually has a ~wrinkle line under each eye, but it's inconsistent (more inconsistent than usual?) in the flashback
for this one scene, i wouldn't be surprised if the wrinkles aren't supposed to be there most the time so he can look younger, and that they were only supposed to be there when he's stressed. but there doesn't seem to actually be a pattern of when he has them
my funniest character development is that i used to be one of Those hipster people who would dislike something literally only because it's popular
and now the series i'm the biggest nerd for are One Piece and Hazbin Hotel
you can't get more mainstream than that lol
______
i realized how dumb being That Kind of hipster was when i binged New Doctor Who over a summer and only after getting back to school learned it's a widely known show. (i recognized the name before watching but hadn't known anything else about it)
i genuinely caught myself growing disdain for it when i learned several other people in my grade liked it and that it was actually pretty well-known. i went to myself, no, no, hold on. you literally spent whole days having a great time watching this. you like this. don't force yourself to hate it. that's dumb.
on the other end of the scale, even back then i wanted One Piece to be more popular because i felt its bad 4Kidz dub sabotaged it. (i avoided anything about the show myself for years until my older sister convinced me to read the manga lol.)
so it's been AWESOME seeing One Piece grow in popularity in the US the last few years. it was already huge in Japan and other countries, gained some popularity in the US over time, and now it's exploding thanks to the live action. yay :D
I swear every other piece of radiostatic art has a link to a fic attached and I feel compelled to click on ALL of them. But several aren't finished and I don't want to read too many ongoing fics at once. And I already have so many browsers stacking up in general. 😆😭
just reblogging because i read the comments on this post and holy crap
holy crap. currently at 239,000 words and 65 chapters, with the chapter count marked as "65/10,001"
idk how consistent this author is with word counts per chapter, but the current average is about 3,700 words per chapter
if they continue that pace (although many fanfic authors get longer chapters the more they write a story lol) and finish the fic, that'd mean the finished fic would be 37,003,700
over 37 million words long.
the entire Lord of the Rings series, including The Hobbit, is about 580,000 words. so that's the Lord of the Ring series approximately 64 times over
