((I don't mean to be fucking disgusting and necro this blog when I physically cannot continue to rp here at this point in my life (but I have not given up on the idea) but...

((i originally had it written/planned-- outside of the homecoming rp with i-am-elder-maxson and ts-sergeant-elliot-- that Yiyuan would join the railroad, and become the downfall of the Brotherhood. She would renounce her allegiance to the organization, and forever banish them from the Commonwealth. She would destroy the Prydwen, after an epic fight on the skywalk with Maxson, and watch the airship go down in flames from the vertibird-- or, depending on the circumstances, narrowly escape by plummeting either into the ocean, or to the ground in a suit of power armor, and then have to avoid the falling debris. Pretty intense stuff.

((I had completely forgotten about the option in The Danse Dilemma... to challenge Elder Maxson for the "throne".

((how could I be so blind? Teenage friends, once best friends, fighting to the death! And Yiyuan is Chinese-- it would be heresey to some to see a woman of her ethnicity claim the Eastern division of the Brotherhood of Steel. That in itself would destroy the Brotherhood anyways.

((but better still, to engage in this fight, and both of them still reluctant to kill the other, even after all their disagreements, their fights... To have one stand over the other, prepared to deal the final blow...

((waiting...

“The Brotherhood wants to make this world a safer place, MacCready,” Ellis said as he loaded a clip into one of the 10mm pistols, “We’ll start by clearing out this place, one feral at a time.”

He took a spare pistol and handed it to Julia with a nod.

Scribe Chone was correct, this place was too valuable to waste. The technology alone would keep the Prydwen’s scribes occupied for weeks, months even. The facility has clearly remained untouched beyond this sector due to the caved in ceilings and blocked tunnels.

“Prepare for close quarters combat, have your melee weapons at the ready. I’ll take point. Everyone ready?”

Ellis pulled out his combat knife and held it in his left hand while the pistol sat comfortably his right. If he was lucky, he could sell the guns for a few caps to Proctor Quinlan or trade them with his fellow soldiers.

Upon confirmation that everyone was, in fact, ready, the Scribe fiddled with the terminal before her, and a moment later, a dozen hellish snarls and howls filled the corridors of Med-Tek’s basement. Ghouls of all shapes, sizes, and states burst from their confinements, rushing towards the room the group had hunkered in.

“Don’t let any in!” Julia exclaimed, static claiming most of the statement as it reached near-peak volume.

With the three of their combined efforts, however, the struggle didn’t last long. One after the other, Ferals fell dead, freed from their near eternal torture. And though a few made it into the room and brought about momentary chaos among its inhabitants, no one was left severely injured, much to the Scribe’s joy. She glanced up to Ellis with a satisfied smirk, before pointing quietly behind him, as she was still catching her breath and couldn’t muster the mental energy to verbally say, “Head down the stairs behind you now.”

She earned a grace period of rest, he should allow her that, at least. Even so, he paced the room with one hand at his side and the other rubbing at the thick nest of his beard. He’d decided on the impending discussion long before she had returned from the Glowing Sea and the waiting had walked a hole in his floor. Once again, Arthur internally reprimanded his selfishness, reminding himself to be more concerned with what she found there and what it could mean for the Brotherhood of Steel. Plagued by guilt, he concluded that he must free his mind of its impurity if he was to be sound enough to accept whatever truly valuable information she held. Desperation won out in the end and he stomped towards the infirmary to intercept Scribe Julia Chone.

The mouth of Medbay smelled of chalky medicine and clear alcohol. He stood in silent observance until his presence drew up eyes.

The deep, dark circles under those grey-blue eyes, and her hunched form, shuddered under the Elder’s gaze, before she broke into a broad grin. She sat up straighter, though not by much, as she held a bowl of Mirelurk stew, and Julia saluted the Elder with a hearty pound of her fist to her chest. Due to the two of them currently being the only ones present, the Scribe fell back on familiarity shortly after.

“Good afternoon to you too, Arthur.” Julia took a sip of her stew, then set it aside, bringing attention to bandages around her right arm. It shook as she placed the stew on the nearby table. “Am I correct in assuming you’re here for a mission report?”
