Time to get my life back together
Me, taking a college entrance test today
is it true that you have to be good at art to be a (graphic) designer? i, too, am an aspiring graphic designer but it seems like schools prefer students with a flair for art? which i do not have ,,,
HELLO ノ(・ω・)ノ uhm well for me honestly i think graphic design is an art, just digital art, but if the flair of art youre pertaining to is traditional art such as painting and sketching, its not necessary (for me bc I dont like to do portraits and all that jazz) but it is a huge pro, it helps you present your ideas much more clearer, though graphic design and traditional art what really matters is, creativity and how you turn that into a reality, doesnt really matter how but as long as you have an idea, you must project it in your chosen forte!!! nur definitely if you have time, dive into it, ive been through interviews for art positions (as an interviewee and interviewer) and its always a prevalent question whether or not, a person can be flexible in their formats of media!!! (。・ω・。) also its never too late to learn basics hehe HAVE A LOVELY DAY DEAR
I would just like to add, as a student of Arts and Design, it is a huge bonus to be good at both HOWEVER it is absolutely NOT a requirement. I, for one, am much better at drawing- and painting-type art and am not good at graphic design, and I have friends who are the exact opposite of that. If you have a knack for graphic design and that’s what you want to do, then that’s great! But don’t be afraid to branch out either, and start from scratch.
Besides, design is a form of art, albeit more calculated, if that makes any sense.
i fckn thought review classes would revive this but it hasn't im sorry, and it's also summer vacation so no; i'll get back to this when im doing shit w/ my life
3/9 exams finished 👌👌👌

tip for highschoolers
MAKE A GOOGLE DRIVE AND ADD PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT CLASSES (as long as youre taking the same subjects) SO YOU DONT HAVE TO PHYSICALLY MEET UP TO EXCHANGE NOTES
i swear, im already even just slightly advanced as i havent had some subjects yet and my friends have so i know what to expect. even just small things like that really help.
be good students, my dudes
Digitally summarizing a 9-page handout about literature :0
Some notes from last year in celebration of school starting + teach me how to take pictures + too lazy to edit, just take it
1am rule
Fact, whenever my friends and I had way too much homework (we usually do), we'd all have to work together (like, in silence in a vidcall or smthn) and we HAD TO STOP NO MATTER WHAT at 1am and probably cram the rest the next day. I mean, 12am is already a bad time to sleep but u kno, I come home at 5pm, some of them come home at like 7pm, so it's :/ But still. 1am rule, guys. Its helped me. Dont pull all-nighters.
1) First legit post 2) Literally the messiest studyblr you'll ever come across 3) Tfw you answer something digitally first so that the ones you have to write down will seem more pretentious and perfect than it really is
I live!
Hello, everyone! I'm finally trying to get my studyblr properly up and running, so I thought I'd start out by making an intro post
Anyway!
- veoxylia (art blog) - Call me any variation you can get from this, though Veo or Xy is greatly appreciated!! - "veo" Spanish, "I see"; "xylia" Greek, "from the woods" - I also go by Veoca Xylia Williams, if you see that flying around. - My real name is Celina, but you're going to need special permission from me to call me that. - 15 yo, turning 16 on 12Dec'17 - 11th grade, GAS strand - will take arts and design in 12th grade!! - Philippines/Filipino - Aspiring animator - Yes, I'm an artist; no, I'm not a graphic designer, not yet at least. - Also, drawing =/= graphic design!! Just putting that out there because my classmates frequently turn to me for layouts :( They thought I was a layout artist when I joined the journalism club in my school, but no, I'm a writer! - Likes to write like I'm running out of time - tag: scrwlng-vxy
Thank you for taking the time to go through this! I hope that I can be of service as a studyblr to anyone, that would be enough to make me satisfied <3 Gosh, I hope I can pull this off properly, I've always wanted to be a studyblr too
PS: i used the same intro for my art blog, actually, very few edits haha <3
this is not your normal studyblr
i dont have the best handwriting
all my stuff is a mess, except maybe my desk because im also an artist
i have more paint on my hands than grades to be proud of
id much rather sketch on my reviewers than read them
but i guess thats what makes originality
hi, im veoca and welcome to my trash fire attempt at a studyblr
