How To Make a Tincture: 1. measure herbs on a small kitchen scale 2. Pour solvent (vodka, vinegar, and glycerin) over herbs, leaving 2-3 inches above herbs. Lid and Shake. 3. Set on a sunny spot for 4-6 weeks. Shake daily and the bottle and put in a dark spot. Tinctures are concentrated herbal extracts made by soaking herbs in a solvent, typically vodka, apple cider vinegar, or vegetable glycerin. After reading the newspaper, tear it to small pieces and plant it.

It’s a mixture of recycled paper, water and small flowers or herbs seeds. The eco-friendly newspaper has had a huge success, a circulation of over four million copies a day across the country and revenues of about eighty million yen, equivalent to over $700,000. The initiative has also involved schools, in order to raise children’s awareness on environmental issues and teach them the importance of recycling. Source
