Outside of the magnificent beauty and intimacy of this scene one of the things that stuck out to me the most was that Xie Zheng changed his clothes and ‘undressed’ when he didn’t have to. It was almost as if he needed the physical closeness and connection with his wife. I don’t know much about this type of medical treatment, but I wonder if it could have also been done with Changyu lying on her stomach. If so, Zheng must have chosen this type of treatment to feel the closeness with her. Because he desperately loves her and misses her.
