A Friend
I want you to understand! For real. But you never can. Your mind is short, stubborn and unmovable. I love you to the moon and back but as it stands now, we will only remain, acquaintances. You are stuck in a life of simple existing. I love you too much to simply watch you dry up. I wish you could know the joy that I know! Only then can we be truly close. So as it stands now the relationship is utterly pointless. My heart aches. Won't you see what I see?
Confusion?
Sometimes I wish I had one of those lives where everything was the same. Day after day, I didn't have to worry about my "next step" or what others think because my life is already in motion. Why do we take pleasure in pressuring our brothers? The swarm of bantering bullies never stops. They want me to be like them, to be part of the same dull, sickening, unsatisfying existence. Why do they care so much as to fill my heart with miserly a d confusion? Sometimes I want to give up. It's hard. I don't always have conformation that this path is Yours. And they don't understand. I'm and alien to my friends. My heart is crying. What can I do?! My trust in You is so small. Help.
"I would rather be what God chose me to be than the most glorious creature I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God’s thought, and then made by God, is the dearest, grandest, and most precious thing in all thinking. This is a prayer of contentment.” -C.S. Lewis

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different.

"This conference is not about religion…This conference is about the fact that sin did not make us bad. Sin made us dead…When Christ comes, the dead will come to life.”
Louie Giglio
The Mind

Prayer.
A Question.
Identity in Christ. What does that even mean? I believe in God, of course. But I feel like I've had the total wrong impression of "identity" for years. I understand the concept theologically. We are made a new creation in Jesus Christ and we belong to Him (John 1:12). It seems like an easy enough concept. Even children understand it. "Jesus love me, this I know. For the Bible tells me so." We are His. We belong to Him by grace. Why is that so hard for me to grasp lately? I think it's the nature of humans. We are compelled to do things by our own power. I cannot write how many times I've felt closer to God when I'm: on a mission trip, in church, regularly having quite time or not sinning. Is that why Jesus died on the cross? So I could be a good Christian. Follow all the rules and make all right choices? I don't think so. I think identity in Christ is much bigger then that. I believe God created me with a purpose (2 Cor. 5:17). And that purpose isn't to "work" so salvation. So why do I keep trying? As if Christ's death wasn't enough. I attempt what pathetic methods I know to make myself feel more righteous in the eyes of God. But He knows. He knows what happens behind closed doors, no matter how much Bible reading I do. So where is the escape? How can I please God and remain transparent and humble? The answer is I can't. The question must be changed. If I want to "please" God I will dissolve into a routine of religious, Pharisaical works. The real question is: how can I "trust" God? How can I trust in His forgiveness and grace without the aid of my own selfish works?
Faith. What is your Red Sea?
