nataliacardozaâ:
Since the dead body in her bed, Natalia threw herself in her work more so than usual. With Leonâs approval of her business plan, she needed to focus. No room for error or distraction. Nat had been on the phone with her father, using his assets as her own. She was young, which meant old men didnât take her seriously; she needed leverage to get what she needed.
Before anything could move forward, Natalia needed to get the Costello name on a license. Luckily, her father connected her with the right people. He couldnât guarantee anything but a meeting. Natalia would have to handle the rest.Â
It wasnât easy, but after an hour of back and forth, she left the room with exactly what she wanted. Nat needed to provide a few favours down the line, but thatâs just the cost of business.Â
âI need a drink,â she said, perched on a bar stool. âTop shelf. Shots. Weâre celebrating tonight.â
.
Bash had decided to do some of his own celebrating, though it was a little prematurely. Heâd just taken his bar exams, the whole two days worth, and was finally going to become a licensed lawyer. In nine weeks when he got the results, anyway. But Bash knew he passed with flying colors, he could just feel it in his bones.
Heâd only just settled in to his seat, mulling over what victory drink he should start his night off with when a girl sat down close to him and was ordering shots in celebration. Well if that wasnât perfect timing.
Looking to the girl, he offered a smile and then made his way closer to be a part of her conversation. âCelebrating, huh? Iâve got some pretty exciting news myself. Any chance youâd like company?â

Before Margot could respond to Sebastian one of her bodyguards was moving towards her cousin as he approached her. Her free hand was held up, palm turned towards the guard before he took one step closer. âFor everyone who doesnât know Sebastian is family and I expect you to let him near myself and Riley from now and to brush up on who I allow to be near me.âÂ
Even with those who were twice her size she spoke to them as she would her daughter when she had to be stern but not forceful with her. Even toned, unwavering eye contact and the body language of someone not willing to budge on a manner was everything Margot already had but amplified since Riley was born. Leo joked that her disproval stare was more intense than that of the sun.Â
Margot returned her cousinâs hug and so did Riley in her own way. Her daughterâs grip remained firmly on her teddy bear but she rested her small head briefly against Sebastian before the hug ended.Â
âYou would ever have a fond place in Rilesâ heart should you do such a galant thing.â She easily shifted from disproval to one of warmth. âRiles,â she bounced her daughter on her hip causing another squeal of glee to escape her daughterâs lips, âmaybe Uncle Seb should help out during your swimming lessons, huh? You can tell Mr. Theo all about it and show him at home how its done.â Silence then a smile and soon a full on eruption of laughter and squeals from the miniature Sinclair. âYou swim with me?â Riley asked.Â
âIt has been too long and I hope you are here for a good amount of time this time.â
.
Bash winked at the bodyguards as they stood down, watching as they went a little pale at their own mistake. Thankfully he was a forgiving person, or else heâd have gone out of his way to find Margot more competent guards. Of course, he could find a way to give them a little hell later on, but that was for a different time. Right now was about catching up with family.
Watching Riley get scooped up by her mother, he laughed and nodded along to the request. âSwim lessons, huh? I bet youâre the best swimmer thatâs ever lived. Maybe soon youâll be teaching the swim lessons, huh?â He teased, poking at her armpit and tickling before bringing his attention back to Margot.
âPlan is to stick around once I pass the bar exam. Iâm kind of hoping to be the family lawyer. Nobody better to represent us than flesh and blood.â He paused and did a quick look around to make sure there werenât any eavesdropping civilians. âPlus, hush money wonât have to be added to my fee.â
Text || Sofie Rose
Sofie: Hmm...that depends.
Sofie: What'd ya have in mind ?
Bash: Kind of was craving some ice cream, earlier
Bash: Any chance you've had Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams before?
Text || Sofie Rose
Bash: Knight in Shining Armor here
Bash: Wondering if I could cash in that rain check?
Bash couldnât help but feel a little smug as he handed over his phone, successfully acquiring her digits. Heâd let that sit for a day or two and then send a text that hopefully lead to some type of date. It had been a while since heâd asked a girl out, too busy with the end of school and then moving back home. But no time like the present to get back on that horse.
Looking back out to the crowd of people, there really wasnât too much else to do other than go swimming. And while heâd love to see her in a bathing suit, something told him that that wasnât exactly the entertainment sheâd had in mind. Not to mention it looked like there would be a very strong possibility of her drowning based on how she was currently swaying. He appreciated the proximity of her body, her hand on his shirt causing heat to rise on his skin. He had half a mind to just start making out with her but knew better. She was way too drunk and she actually seemed like a pretty cool person that he might prefer getting to know rather than doing a simple hump and dump.
Just then, his cell phone went off and he quickly looked at the text that splayed across his screen. It was from an old friend of his, someone whoâd had plans for the night of a different variety. A little more chaotic, if you will. Sighing, he took the hand that played with his collar and brought it to his mouth like heâd done on the first day theyâd met, maintaining eye contact as he did so.
âLooks like Iâm needed elsewhere, right now. Iâll take a raincheck on this,â He quickly said apologetically, indicating the two of them together. âfor some other time though, yeah?â
Always needed to be the center of attention, Sofia was disappointed when Bash said he needed to leave her. She pouted slightly, as he kissed her hand and she nodded. âRaincheck. Sure,â Sofia replied, standing on her tip toes to place a gentle kiss on her knight in shining armorâs cheek. Something to remember her by.
âDonât keep a girl waiting too long,â Sofia said, biting her lower lip to tease him a bit more before walking away. Sheâd have to find some other way to entertain herself before the nightâs end. Maybe cause a bit of trouble.
Sofia Rosaline Costello left alone to her own devices, drunk out of her mind and pissed at her brother? A hurricane in motion.
// end.Â
alondraxalemanâ:
âFine,â Alondra agreed, unable to turn down a beverage. âMake it expensive and strong,â she added, shooing the man off to the bar. âFrom now on you can address me as Mrs. Aleman. Just be grateful my husbandâs out of town. He doesnât take too kindly to anyone who upsets me. No matter how trivial the offence.â
.
âYour wish is my command.â He spoke genuinely, though dipping into a teasing bow as if he were there to serve her. Technically he now was serving her, something he figured she was used to. Her air of confidence and âno bullshitâ attitude spoke that much for him. And based on the way she was now speaking of her husband, getting waited on hand and foot probably wasnât the only thing she was used to getting done for her.
âMrs. Aleman.â He said the name before making his way over to the bar, now mulling it over in his head. The name sounded familiar, now fairly certain he remembered it being a buzz name for recent events. They were that new family that had opened a hotel not too long ago, werenât they? Couldnât hurt to get on their good side, though if they didnât make some grand connection it wasnât any skin off his back. They had bigger and better offers at their door every day.
Quickly returning with a long island ice tea, he placed it down for her and then plopped himself down on the lounge chair closest to her as if they were old friends.Â
âSo, Mrs. Aleman. Are you having a good time? Yâknow, up until I ruined it?â
sofixcostelloâ:
Sofia smirked at the clever line Bash threw back at her. Maybe I can call you later? Damn, that was smooth. She bit her lip and held out her hand for his phone. In his contacts, she created a new entry. Sofie Rose, followed by her cell number. She passed the tech back. âCall me anytime,â she said with a wink.
They downed their shots and looked around the party when Bash suggested fixing the boring night she was having. âOh yeah? What do you suggest?â she asked, bringing a hand to the collar of his shirt, playing with the fabric as she looked in his eyes. Her expression was suggestive as her body swayed from her intoxication.Â

Okay Home boy looking fine as fuck đ
paityncostelloâ:
âI donât have that kind of authority in the Costello family,â Paityn said, matter-of-fact. Besides, Chantel hasnât actually done anything to warrant any hostility. Paityn was just glad she still had her family looking out for her, even if she was in bed with the enemy. âPart of marriage is sacrifice and compromise, right? So tolerating loyalists kinda falls under that category. Unfortunately.âÂ
âYet.â Bash teased, waggling his eyebrows at her before giving a small chuckle. Luca being the youngest of the family meant he was dead last in terms of the hierarchy within the family. Maybe that was why Paityn had fallen for him, because heâd been so far removed from the business initially. Last Bash had heard heâd since upped his game in that department but the legal contract was already signed and Paityn was a Costello now.Â
Sighing, he shook his head and absently ran his hand through his hair. âProbably another reason you wonât see me at the end of an aisle any time soon. Iâm pretty content with my life right now so sacrificing anything just doesnât sound appealing to me.â
felicitysinclairâ:
âItâs not my fault you canât make as big of a splash as me.â
Felicity stood from where she sat, arms folded as she stared down at Bash.Â
âUnfortunately for you, Iâm not ten anymore, and I canât be manipulated into making a fool of myself. Sorry, Sebastian.â
It was a rarity for Felicity to use his full name. It felt foreign, but sometimes, it was necessary. Especially whenever Bash was behaving like this. Full douchebag.
She sat on the edge of the pool, wrapping her swimsuit cover around her shoulders. She dipped her feet in, eyes on Bash just in case he tried anything.Â
âPartyâs kind of lame,â Felicity said, eyeing the crowd. She spotted Noah, smoking a cigarette. She rolled her eyes. âIâm sure Noahâs crazy ass will keep us all entertained.â
âOh come on, donât be such a princess.â Bash said, splashing some more water her way one more time. Sighing, he came closer to the edge of the pool where she was now sitting and brought his arms up on the side while he looked around the party. âItâs definitely nothing in comparison to my last fourth of July.â He spoke almost wistfully, remembering the last big party heâd had back at his place in Cambridge. It had been a total blowout in comparison to this tame party. Surprising, since heâd heard there were Costellos also in attendance.
âNoahâs here? Shit, I should splash him. Maybe we can steal some fireworks and get something actually exciting to happen around here.â
alondraxalemanâ:
The boyâs smirk wouldnât be able to get him out of this mess as easily as he hoped. Alondra was going to make the most of the situation; she was bored and wanted some entertainment. Watching men squirm was a great pass-time.Â
âYouâd be wise to never âmaâmâ any woman younger than fifty again,â she said. âA drink is the least you could do.â
.
âWell Miss seemed a little too juvenile, and Iâm afraid I didnât catch your name.â He offered, still smiling despite her tone of annoyance. Getting back out of the pool, he walked over to where heâd flung his shirt and picked up a towel to dry off a little.
âWeâll start with a drink and go from there, then. Howâs that sound?â
matthewdunneâ:
âIâm not afraid of you, Lawyer Boy,â Matt said, snark filling his voice. âFelicity could kick both our asses with a hand tied behind her back.â Matt took a few steps towards Bash, before clapping a hand on his back. âI need a beer,â he said, walking to the bar. âHave fun being a dick.â
It took all of Bashâs energy not to follow after the punk and just sock him right then and there, but he kept his composure. He was still sober and knew how to compose himself for the masses. Maybe later in the night when heâd had a bit more alcohol heâd be interested in starting the conversation back up again. But in the meantime, heâd go make idle chatter with the other people who were there that he actually cared about and were worth his time.
paityncostelloâ:
When Bash mentioned the Costello publicist, Paityn couldnât help but roll her eyes. âChantel is a bitch and I have no intention of trusting her with my public image,â she said, crossing her arms over her chest. âI just canât help but think sheâll prioritize everyone else ahead of me or sheâll end up screwing me over somehow.â Paityn sighed, knowing she was the one who put herself in this situation. She chose to marry into a rival family.
âI donât think Luca would let that happen,â she added. Paityn trusted that much: that Luca would always look out for her.
âAnd I definitely wonât let that happen.â Bash said reassuring, giving his cousin a light tap on the shoulder. Even if her last name was Costello now, heâd still look out for him. That was the whole point he went through with law school. He couldnât do arms deals, and whack people, but he could protect his family. And no Costello family member or loyalist was going to fuck that up for them.
âBesides, youâre technically her boss now. Canât you just fire her? Or tarnish her image if she takes it too far? I bet that would really get to someone whoâs all about looking good for the masses.â
sofixcostelloâ:
âYou can call me whatever you want,â she said with a smirk, taking the glass between two fingers, bringing the shot to her lips. The alcohol burned as it traveled down her throat, but Sofia kept smiling. Her company had that effect on her; cute boys usually did.
âIâm happy you found me tonight,â Sofia added, her hand reaching out to gently touch his forearm. âIâve been terribly bored until now.â
.
âWell in that case, maybe I can call you later?â His lip twinged up in a half smile, looking to Sofia for a response to the line. He hadnât managed to snag her number last time, but maybe heâd be lucky enough to do so this time.
Taking the shot as she did, he let it resonate as it moved down his throat, readying for the rest of the alcohol that was to come throughout the night. Giving a full smile now at Sofiaâs confession of boredom, he laughed and nodded towards the party.
âWell I guess weâll just have to fix that, wonât we? Iâm sure there are still a few things we could do to make it a livelier party.â
alondraxalemanâ:
Alondra was drinking poolside, lounging in one of the chairs by the edge of the water. She wasnât terribly interested in attending any sort of party, but it was an opportunity to people watch. Maybe something exciting would happen, but Alondra had her doubts.Â
When she was splashed with cold pool water, accosted by some blond bro in the pool. âYes, in fact you did,â Alondra said, venom in her voice. âAre you in middle school or just some bumbling idiot who doesnât know to be mindful of his surroundings?â
.
âI wouldnât say bumbling, that canon ball was pretty solid.â He offered the woman a smile, hoping it would ease the tension. Sebastian knew his great deal of women and he could already tell this was one that wasnât easily wooed or impressed so his usual tactics most likely wouldnât work. Still, it didnât hurt to try.
âMy apologies, maâam. I could get you a towel to dry off and some type of drink to make up for it, if youâd like.â
