In my Teenage age years, the micro-cassette Recorder\Player was always with me. It was in my pockets at all times and I was ready to record anything and everything around. This device is or was usually used to tape meetings or interviews. I used it to record beat-boxing with friends in echoing hallways, bus stops , and to get samples to later cut and past using computer software. These recordings have also become snapshots of my past in sound form much like a Polaroid picture. The wire plugged into it in the photo alludes to the “exporting” of the sound into another object for archiving or post production. It is sitting on an open book where we can read about a theory about word and image virus. It also speaks of tape recorders 1 , 2, and 3 along with their roles. This is a thought and theory elaborating in this book and the paragraph is there to peak curiosity. Who wrote the book is hinted by another book that is less in focus but in the shot. I threw in a dictionary because of the word virus connotation. The tapes here and there fill the image with the idea of play back and keeping a record, much like images.
