SamiSut Appreciation Post (finally!)
I’ve been thinking to do this for some time but I haven’t done it, so here we go.
He is 24 years old and playing in Real Madrid for almost two years now with Mesut. Now, this is Mesut Oezil:
A 22 yo world-class midfielder. And this is their story…
I think it’s great to have guys like Jerome Boateng, Toni Kroos, Thomas Muller, Marko Marin and Sami Khedira.

…social life with the group is still zero for them. Khedira lives with Özil and Özil lives with Khedira. Their entry into the group is not easy yet, even though the group is young, friendly and easy to deal with.
“They are not living an easy moment, since they don’t speak one word of Spanish yet. They only know how to say hola and buenos dias”
“Yes it is different. A new city…and a new language to learn, which is very important to me because I really want to be able to communicate properly with my teammates and so, during the week, I take Spanish lessons.”
But thank God it didn’t take too long for them to blend in with their new lovely teammates.
Over past few months my Spanish has improved considerably. I can understand the grammar and my vocabulary has increased.
(About his Spanish lesson) 5 hours a day, 3 times a week - if there’s no Champions League game. We learn in a playful manner. We do role-plays or I have to order something in a restaurant…things like that.
Hanging out with Benzi who seems to be the perfect candidate for the Third Wheel.
We are two players (referring to himself and Mesut) who are ready to help. We are creative and can help Xabi Alonso. We don’t speak Spanish well for the time being, but we communicate well with our teammates.
(On being asked by a German newspaper who spoke better Spanish, Mesut Özil or Sami Khedira) Sami, definitely. Mesut is so shy - he simply doesn’t talk as much. We get along very well. After practice he asks me what he could have done better and we exchange stories about Germany and Brazil.
Özil is very shy. But that’s all right! Marcelo and I are looking after him. We have fun all day long!
The others are being so nice to them, so it wasn’t too long until they build home in Madrid and have lots of fun together, though they’re pretty consistent at sticking with each other.
Mesut always listens to what Sami says intently.

Even Benzi is unabashed at his own advances! (I can see Sami’s scowl from here~)
But Mesut always sticks with Sami no matter what, breaking the hearts of others in the team obliviously.
A month ago Sami was injured, so Mesut gotta’ go to training and matches without him. When he was at his most vulnerable point, other guys obviously tried to cheer him up.
Suddenly the bromance advances are coming from everywhere!
I have to admit, though, that SerZil does things to me.
But…what is this? The SamiSutness is unbreakable. Even until now.
But of course, Sami is not a selfish guy. He’s happy that others love Mesut also and he appreciates them for it.
But something is still bugging me; Sami never looked happy at the affection Sergio pours over Mesut.
You see that look? I can’t be alone.
That’s all for now, I’m having a serious problem with my imagination. Hmm.
