Knox had been sitting at the diner waiting for Audrey to be done with cleaning up when he started sketching down a few new ideas for sculpures. He hated when bad weather came in because he wouldn't be able to get to the city and get supplies or have someone else work at the gallery. He'd have to call a few friends to see if it was going to be bad there. He knew it wouldn't but that's why he'd picked this place. He loved the isolation when he was working and he loved his girlfriend and she wasn't about to move. Then it came to him why he'd left the city in the first place. His stalking of women who inspired him was getting out of control and without the stress of the city, it had gotten better.

Part of him wondered if it really had or if finding Audrey, living in a small town where he could keep track of her, keep all of her attention fed that need to possess someone. He knew that unless he couldn't keep his darkness in check, he could be with her and maybe he'd just seem like a protective boyfriend. He could hope because she was fucking sexy and he wasn't ready to give that up any time soon.

As she walked up, he pushed the dark thoughts that always came with inspiration away and smiled up at her. The moment she was close enough, he tugged her down on his lap. She smelled like French fries and coffee and although it shouldn't be sexy those were two of his favorite things. Once she was sitting on his leg, he pushed her hair back from the side of her face, so he could kiss the spot right below her ear.

"I think you should get your stuff together and come stay with me for the weekend. It's beautiful up there and my babies would love to have you there all weekend. Beauty and Beast miss you when you're not there."

He looked her face over, trying to see if she'd agree. "I know you like being close to the diner but you're not that far, just at the end of main street. Say yes. I don't want to have to use tactics that I know you can't say no to."

Audrey finished ringing out the last customer and then walked her out. "See you later, Jenna. Be safe driving home." She called out and then flipped the sign to closed. Alexei and the dish washer, Joaquin, had already left for the evening. And she was alone. Well, not entirely. Her boyfriend, Knox, sat at the counter waiting for her to finish up. She walked over to him and sat down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck. They hadn't been dating for too long, just a few months, but she was head over heels with him.

When he invited her to stay with him, she grinned. "I do have the weekend off. Although I was planning in coming in Sunday evening to check all our stock for the week. I guess there's some big snow storm coming in and I'm worried a bit." She shrugged her shoulders and then nuzzled closer to him. "First big snow of the year always does that to me." She placed her fingertips under his chin and turned him so that their eyes were locked. "But I wanna stay with you as long as you can drive me to the diner around 7pm on Sunday. Just for a couple of hours." She pecked his lips. "I miss Beauty and Beast too."

Knox always seemed concerned and a bit overprotective of her but she didn't mind too much. As long as he didn't lock her in a tower and shut off from the rest of the world, she was fine with it. "And I love your house. It's fun to explore. It's like a giant Clue board." She said with a laugh.

Kara sat on a chair as she watched her best friend go move a few things around for her because Kara's leg hadn't been doing very well. Truth was, although she loved spending time with Audrey, she really wanted to just go back to bed with John at her side. It was still strange that things worked out they way they did and she felt bad about being so happy while everyone else was so shocked by what was going on in town.

She couldn't help but laugh as she placed Johnny's jacket in the box of things to return to people. "You know Johnny basically wanted to get back together. It was strange and for a moment, I even considered it because he's really been there for me a lot over the last few years. He can to Oliver's funeral and stayed for a few days, he's checked in on me as much as you did but he had to know that the problem we had, why we didn't get married is still the same."

She put a few more things in the box before she laid back on her bed. Everything around her just made things feel like time stopped while she was in high school. Her dad promised to get rid of all this but he didn't. "Audrey, do you think I'm doing the right thing, persuing this thing between John and I. It's hard because I dreamed of him liking me for so long and now, his self esteem is so shot that I almost feel like I'm taking advantage of that. Like part of what i loved about him was that cocky confidence and the only time he really has that now is when we're fucking. I don't know... god I know I love him, I always have but do you think he could really have those kinds of feelings for me this quick... and woman what is with you and Knox? I about feel out of my seat when I saw him there. I'd told him it was a nice place to live and there were some hot women around but I never thought he'd actually show up." Kara laughed, "next thing I know our other friend Caulder will show up and come sweep Quinn off her feet and then I'll have the only friends I ever had outside of town... living in town."

Audrey was looking through a box of stuff, smiling at all the old memories inside. She looked up when Kara mentioned Johnny. The two of them were pretty much made for each other all through high school but things came to an end when Kara wanted different things than Johnny did. "You know, he's a great guy and friend but he really never grew up. He's still just a party boy."

She walked across the room and towards the closet when Kara laid back on the bed. Audrey began shuffling through the rack and smirking when she came across a hot pink Juicy Couture velour track suit. "Omg I can't believe we used to wear stuff like this." She said with a chuckle. She looked back with a more serious look on her face to her friend at the mention of John. "Well," she started as she walked back out of the closet and sat on the edge of the bed. "I mean it kinda sounds you miss the high school version of John. A lot has happened to him in almost 20 years. He's changed and ...time does that to a person. If you're missing cocky football John -- he's not really that guy anymore." She let out a sigh. "It kinda sounds like you might be having second thoughts now that you've been with him a bit." She looked down at her friend. "You gotta tell him if you're not feeling it with him. Don't string him a long because I'm not sure how much more heartache he can take. And you don't want to put yourself in a position where you're not happy.

She smirked then and shrugged her shoulders. "Knox ...I mean he's a charmer that's for sure. And he's your friend so he's gotta be a nice guy. Usually I'd be a little apprehensive with a guy who is so flirty from the get go but there's something about him I'm just so attracted to. I'm gonna see if he wanted to go to Johnny's tomorrow night. Just for a couple of drinks. So far the twon is still up and running unless something really bad happens and it John sets in a curfew or something."

As she walked off he couldn't help himself waiting till she was about half way to the door. "I' always need something sweet, Audrey." His words were soft but at the same time the implications were there. Once she came back out and put the plate in front of him, he placed his napkin in his lap and couldn't help but continue to smile at her. "Yeah, I'm an artist and you've got tourism that comes through. Besides, people will buy my work no matter where I make it."

there was a verbrado to his words but the look on his face told her that he wasn't being cocky that he was actually that good. Just as he was about to say his name he heard a familiar voice say it from behind him.

"Wow when I woke up today and thought about what I might do, running into Knox Anders wasn't something I expected. What are you doing here?"

He smiled and looked at Audrey. That's who I am. I'm Knox it's really nice to meet you Audrey."

Kara laughed and knew she needed to talk to her friend before she was sucked into the Knox universe and would need a rescue party to get out. "So I know you're not from here because I am. "Rin turned towards Audrey. John sent me to pick up coffee and sandwiches for all of them over there. So like 20. I swear the FBI should be bringing food." She huffed. "Well good luck Knox and if you even look at my best friend wrong remember it's a little town and I'm from here. Born and raised. Oh and I"m dating the sheriff and I'm not afraid to use him."

Looking back at Audrey, she went around the counter. "I'm gonna to help Alexie. Be careful with this one. Call me later, or come by the station I'm gonna be there all night." She gave Audrey a hug and waived at Joaquín's mother before going through the double doors.

"You know,Rin and I used to be good friends. I asked her out the same day her fiancé did and she picked him. We were a small art community up in Seattle. If you're known you know everyone and everyone knows you. She's pretty famous for dancing but then was more famous for looking her hot hockey player boyfriend." He chuckled strange people up there. So... I want to know every thing there is to know about you though. "

Audrey smiled at Kara and got her to-go order. She had no idea that this guy, Knox, and her best friend knew each other. She listened to them talk for a moment and then chuckled. "Yeah, she's dating our poor melancholy sheriff. Though I will say, he seems to smile a bit more often now." She handed her friend the bags and then they gave each other a strong hug without crushing the food. "I'll call you later!" She had so many questions she wanted to ask her about this guy. This gorgeous, gorgeous man with a million dollar smile.

After Kara left, Audrey turned back to Knox. "She's been my best friend since grade school. Funny, she never mentioned you." She said with a smirk as she wiped the counter. "She's completely smitten with Sheriff Walker now. Well, she had been since junior high but he was with someone else and then a then ... well, it's a long story but they found each other. And now they're end game." She grinned and leaned up against the counter closer to him.

"So you wanna know about me? Well, I've lived in Sleepy Pines all my life and own the diner here. I love cats, Christmas, Italian food, spicy romance books, watching cheesy movies....I don't know. Just your average girl I guess. I don't have an extravagant life story like Kara does."

"So what kinda art do you do? I'm not good at visual arts but I do play the cello. Been doing that since I was younger. My mother was a cellist for the Portland Symphony before she met my dad and moved here with him. She taught me and I had lessons and played in high school but I don't really any more. Working at the diner takes up a lot of my time."

He'd been travelling down the coast for a few days and couldn't help but see a quaint town. Knox liked the name and as he drove down the main street in town, perfectly named Sleepy Pines Lane, he saw so much potential. He could make his art anywhere and people would come. He always left town for his other activities and there had to be some beautiful brunette that he could find fun with. There was always at least one in a small town.

Just as he was coming close to the end of the street, he noticed a small dinner and decided to stop and grab a bit to eat. He opened the door and there she was. He knew this one, she was the prettiest he'd seen by far would want to play with him. First, he'd need to learn everything there was to know. Good thing he also noticed a small B&B and houses for sell. There was one he thought would have been perfect but of course it had sold on it. He could just build his own. Not the point right now. Now he needed to make a good impression and, get some food.

Sitting down at the counter, he felt off and uncomfortable with the door to his back. Though it didn't take him long to get over it as she came up to him. Her voice sweet, almost melodic. "Well, it's really nice to meet you Audrey. I was just passing through your lovely town here, looking to buy a store front and a home and saw that you were very busy and I was hungry. Anyway could I get a club sandwich, hold the mayo and a side salad, a cup of coffee and a glass of water. He said without looking at the menu. "There's a few other things I'd like but I think I'll wait to see how the food is first."

Audrey noticed the man soon as he came in. She knew he was from out of town because she literally knew everyone in Sleepy Pines. She smiled as he came over to the counter and sat down. She introduced herself and set a menu in front of him but he didn't even open it before placing in order. It was typical diner food so it wasn't like the request was something extravagant. Hell, even if he requested something off menu she would've made it for him because he was just too damn charming. "We have desserts too." She said with a grin. "If you're looking for something sweet. I'll be right back."

She wanted to text Kara so bad and tell her a hot handsome stranger just popped into the diner but she didn't want to bother her in case she was with John. A few minutes later, she came through the kitchen doors carrying a tray of food. She set it down in front of the man and smiled. "You say you're looking to buy in Sleepy Pines? It's a very quiet little town. Pretty rainy too but it's nice. I've lived here all my life." She watched as the man took a sip of his coffee. "I'm sorry, did you mention your name?" She asked.

Standing outside her door, Bucky knocked. This was really the first time they were going to spend time together without other people around and he was looking forward to it. It had been a strange happening when she sat with them the night Kara found herself a blond soldier and he wondered if she'd come up because she wanted to give Kara some space or if it had to do with him. Of course he'd heard from Beck that she was interested, he'd always been interested but Kara wouldn't say yes or no so at least it was starting to move in the right direction.

He loved that she wasn't military, that she was smart and a doctor. He'd always had a lot of respect for people like that after dealing with Steve being sick when he was a kid Beck becoming a nurse and literally having the soldiers dream of getting injured and then marrying your nurse, all of it just made him want her more. He'd love to say that it was just her mind and heart that he wanted but she had these long legs for days. He had these dreams of having them spread in front of him while he devoured her like she deserved.

"Shit."

Bucky adjusted himself before he heard locks open and he looked up. Had he not already been starting to get hard from what he was thinking about, he would have been now. "Look at you trying to get me in trouble tonight." Without thinking, he grabbed her hand and tugged her into him. His other hand reached up and went to the back of her neck to hold her in place. His eyes looked over hers, making sure that she wasn't protesting before his lips crashed into hers.

James "Bucky" Barnes was literally the most handsome man Audrey had ever laid eyes on (even cuter that Steve Rogers) and she couldn't believe her luck when she walked over to him at the bar that he sort of seemed to be into her too. She felt since Kara was talking to the blond soldier that she'd give her friend some space and it was no better time to finally do some actual talking to Bucky.

And now here they were, going out to the Fourth of July BBQ at Kara's house. She opened the door and grinned when she saw him standing there. He was tall and had big muscles. Short cropped brown hair and gorgeous eyes that she could totally lose herself in. "Hey, there!" she smiled. She giggled when he seemed to be in awe of her.

She did a little twirl for him when he told her that she was trying to get him in trouble. Before she knew it, he pulled her into his arms and she grinned as she looked up to him. His lips crashed on hers and she kissed him back with the same intensity. "Wow," she giggled when they pulled back. "That's one way to say hello." She pressed her hand to his chest and then gave him another peck on the cheek. "You're so damn sexy Bucky Barnes." She motioned him to come into her apartment.

"I just gotta grab the pie I bought for the BBQ." She closed the door behind him. Her apartment was nice and clean. A little couch, a couple of arm chairs, a small tv. The decor was kind of a boho look with some ferns and plants scattered around the room. A part of her wished they were just staying here for the evening but Kara would absolutely kill her if she missed this. "Can I get you a drink? I think I have beer." She said as they walked into the kitchen and she opened the fridge. "Oh no. I don't. Sorry. I'm sure Kara will have some at the BBQ. You want a coke?" He offered him a can. She bit her lip as her eyes connected with his. He was unlike anyone she had ever been with before. "Are you looking forward to going to New York this weekend? It's always so fun. I just hope Tony doesn't make a big scene again this year." She chuckled.

While Kara was having fun (at least Audrey thought she was) with the pretty boy blond at the bar, Audrey decided to get up the nerve and actually go talk to Bucky Barnes. She had spoken to him before but it always had been so brief. She heard he was single again so she'd better take a chance and at least make it known to him that she was interested in him. She had already missed out with her chance with Steve a while back. He was Kara's best friend and for some reason she thought Kara would absolutely hate the idea of her with him so she never even attempted to let her interest be known. Kara didn't even know that Audrey had once had a crush on him. But now Steve was taken and Bucky was not.

She looked back at Kara and giggled as she watched her friend actually talk to a hot guy. Finally, now maybe Kara would hook up with him and get laid or kissed or something .... anything. The girl needed it. Turning back she settled her sights on Bucky as he sat at the table with Steve and a couple of other soldiers she didn't know. When their eyes met, she gave him a smile and a little wave and walked up to him. "Hey, Bucky. Hi Steve..." God, what she wouldn't do to be the filling of a delicious Bucky and Steve sandwich. Bad thoughts ... Don't think those. Her smile grew and she waved to the others at the table. "Hi, guys. I'm Audrey." Hitching her thumb over her shoulder towards Kara and the blonde guy, she said. "Seems my partner in crime has moved on from me so I thought I'd come bother you guys..." Her eyes settled on Bucky when she talked. "Mind if I sit down?"

John hummed at her question, a smile on his lips as he looked down at her. His fingers now holding both sides of her jaw fingers in some of her hair. He let his lips hover right over hers before he spoke in a low voice. "Well, Dr. Nathan, I'd think you would know what a tour of a body would be. But since you want me to tell you, I'll see if I can catch you up to speed."

He kissed her lips her cheek and then nipped at her ear as his hand moved to tangle in her long hair. His breath was warm over the vulnerable skin and he couldn't help the mischief in his voice. "I'm going to slip off your clothing. Once I'm done doing that, you're going to let me use my tongue and lips to take my tour of every inch of your skin. I do like to take detours, so I might find that there's places I want to stop and play with."

Pulling back from her he smiled once more. "I mean unless you're hungry and want to wait till after dinner. I'm a patient man when I need to be."

Okay so she was definitely wrong about him being sort of vanilla in certain aspects of his life. Sex was not one of them. She half expected her to be the one who initiated things because he struck her as reserved typical military type. She was wrong and she was glad she was. His touch was warm and his voice, commanding -- it made her heart race and her core pulsate. The thin spaghetti strap of her dress slipped down from her shoulder and she wanted nothing more for him to do what he promised with her clothing. Never had she wanted a man more than him. From their first date she knew she wanted a future with him and maybe she was reading too much into it but god ... to her -- he was the one.

When he got done telling her everything that he was going to do, she gave him a little smirk. "I am hungry... but only for you..." She whispered, internally scolding herself for sounding like the female character from a cheesy romance novel. She played with the buttons of his shirt, popping one open as she looked into his very blue eyes. "You should take me to your favorite room. We could start there with the tour."
