Travel cheap in Cusco, Peru
Cusco, Peru, is an unforgettable city, but it is often cited as the most expensive place in Peru. After spending a week in Cusco with very little money, I can attest that although it is very easy to run a bill in the Inca capital, it is also possible, with a little effort to enjoy Cusco, Peru has to offer and still travel within your budget. The first key to saving money in Cusco is to find a cheap place down, but to stay. It is easy to find cheap hotels that are dirty and unpleasant, then I strongly suggest taking the time to store away. Stroll in the inner city hotels asking price and negotiate. Even in high season hotels will often give you much more if you stay two nights. However, I found the cheapest hotels offer deals during the high season is 35 soles (about $ 10 USD) for a double room, which is too expensive for many budget travelers. A good alternative is to find rooms for rent. Walking through the streets you can see signs on stores or homes with rooms that families rent to you every day for very cheap. We found a cute room in the house of a woman who ran a laundromat who praised us for 15 soles per night (about $ 3 USD). The location was ideal in the San Blas neighborhood, surrounded by colonial buildings and, ironically, by the very expensive hotels. Travellers crossing after spending too much money in Cusco is the food. Depending on your needs, tastes and moods, there is a cheap option for everyone. The cheapest way to make breakfast is going to a panaderia and buy bread, yogurt, fruit, etc., and eat in your room, or rather see a park bench in Plaza de las Armas. If you feel for a heftier, breakfast energetic, I would recommend Illary Café Restaurant, on Calle Procuradores, just behind the Plaza de las Armas. Breakfasts range from 5.50 to 8 soles (about $ 1.50 to 2.50 USD) and are supplied with fresh fruit juice, preferably your eggs (scrambled, fried, omelet), delicious fresh bread, jam , butter, and a hot drink (coca tea, hot chocolate, coffee). To find a cheap meal, avoid downtown streets, where the waiters harass you as you walk down the street until you enter their restaurant. Choose side streets where the local eat. A meal consisting of soup, a dish of rice and meat and juices will cost from 2.25 to 3 soles (less than a dollar). These sites also serve dinner.If you feel up for a different taste you can venture further Procuradores Calle, where you will be served a meal for 10 soles (about $ 3 USD) to any restaurant. At this price, you get: a glass maker (glass of wine or pisco sour), an appetizer, soup, main course, dessert and coffee or tea. Each of these restaurants you can choose Italian food, Mexican, Peruvian or. In order not to miss one of the sites spectacular Cusco and its surroundings have to offer, you can buy Turistico Boleto for 70 Soles ($ 20 USD) or 35 Soles ($ 10 USD) with a student card . With this ticket, you can access to 16 museums and archaeological sites which are all very impressive.Finally, do not let you intimidate tourism in Cusco. You do not have to spend all the money from the store and restaurant owners want to spend. Instead, find solutions hidden that will not only allow you to continue to travel cheaply, but will give you new insight into Peruvian culture in Cusco.

Moving your pets to Hawaii
Let me preface this article by saying, moving your pets to Hawaii is not an easy task. There is a seemingly endless bureaucratic complications. But it is not impossible. Just be prepared for any eventuality. ; If you save a lot of stress, a lot of time and a considerable amount of money One of the most frustrating things about moving your pets to Hawaii is the state's quarantine obligations .. ; It used to be that all animals entering Hawaii had to be quarantined for a period of 30 to 120 days Fortunately, the law has changed the law in Hawaii states that dogs and cats meeting specific pre-and .. post arrival requirements may qualify for 30 days, 5 days or direct discharge. In order to qualify for direct release, extreme attention to detail is required by the owner. Everything must be in perfect order, or your pets will be subject to quarantine.My first and best piece of advice is to start the process early. I started the process six months before my move to Hawaii, and this is still the narrow cut. My pets - two cats - were released directly to me in Honolulu and this was a great relief, because this process can create a lot of anxiety for pet owners care -.. not to mention their pets Here are the general requirements of pre-arrival to move your cats or dogs in Hawaii: First, you will need a health certificate issued by an accredited veterinarian within 14 days prior to the health certificate must be written in English, be an original. document (no photocopies or faxes), and bear the original signature or carbon and read the name, address and telephone number of the veterinarian certification. The certificate must include a complete description of the animal, such as age, sex, markings, breed characteristics and identification (your beagle to have tattoos?). The veterinary authority must declare that the animal has been treated to kill all ticks and other external parasites within 14 days prior to arrival with the names and dates of treatment. ; The veterinarian must certify that the animal is devoid of any evidence of infectious or contagious disease, and must certify the accuracy of the information indicated in the title, a record of all vaccinations must be included .. Finally, the microchip number and date of installation. The cat must be implanted with a microchip for electronic identification. This is a simple, painless and inexpensive procedure. The microchip, obtained from your veterinarian, must be read with an Avid scanner standard. The veterinarian will be able to answer any questions you might have. All dogs and cats entering Hawaii must receive the vaccination for common infectious agents. There are a number of separate vaccinations for dogs and cats that you will get for your pets (within specific deadlines). Vaccination is common, of course, the rabies vaccination. Hawaii is the only U.S. state that has no cases of rabies. Hawaii and would like to keep it. Thus, a rabies blood test is used to determine if dogs and cats have responded adequately to the rabies vaccinations. The veterinarian must provide a sample of your pet's blood to a laboratory at Kansas State University for testing. The workshop will present the test results directly to the State of Hawaii. But you should keep a copy of the test results with your veterinarian for your records. You will certainly have questions during this arduous process, and people to quarantine rabies is very helpful and courteous. I made several calls to them than to anyone else during the six months. You must obtain a brochure and checklist of the Hawaii Department of Agriculture. I'll list the website in the Resources section of this article. To give you an idea of the cost, I spent about $ 600 per cat to prepare to move to Hawaii. This is not including vectors of cat ($ 40) and companion ticket ($ 75). Speaking of fares, I found one airline that allowed pets to stay in the cabin. during the long flight over the Pacific - Airlines Trans Air (ATA) Book your flight soon, because many only allow pets on each flight Here are some final tips: (1) Remember to start. process early. (2) Find yourself a good vet, informed about the process of moving animals in Hawaii (3). cancel at least $ 750 or add it to your budget in motion. (4) Keep meticulous records and a checklist, and pay close attention to detail. (5) Call the Rabies quarantine in case of doubt. Sorry.Yes best, is a long and difficult process. But consider, the alternatives: leaving your pet behind on the mainland, or not moving to Paradise to all good luck and aloha.! ;

Timid Reporter Interviews Evo Morales
Coffee Club Newsletter © Volume 18, No. 43 - 25 June 2008Any like the people who actually live or events that actually happens is a coincidence. TR: Good afternoon. Are you the president Evo Morales? EM: Do you speak any indigenous Bolivian languages - Aymara or Guarani? TR: I speak only French, Italian, Spanish and English - also a little Chinese. EM: it will not help me. Let me call my interpreter. TR: But, I speak fluent Spanish. EM: No, amigo, I'm trying to rid my country of all the Spanish influence. TR: Oh. EM: Are you Mestizo or what? TR: I'm half Austrian and half Gypsy, or vice versa. EM: I'm one hundred percent indigenous Bolivian. That is why I convert it to its natural roots, its native culture. TR: What about immigrants? EM: You mean the Spaniards and Europeans who have plundered the country? TR: No, I mean just immigrants - the non-natives. EM: They have to go back to the places they came from. TR: But do not you think the economy will collapse? EM: I'm restructuring the economy so that our only export, will be the coca leaf. TR: But you have large natural gas reserves, you can sell or trade. You have an abundance of other natural resources. EM: Yes, but I do not want to destroy Earth like so many transnational companies have done. In addition, I would not give the Europeans an excuse to stay. TR: What happens if there is an embargo? EM: It can not be - the coca leaf is more demand than corn. TR: But, look at Cuba. EM: The only reason the embargo has gone on this long is because Cuba does not grow coca leaf. I have already spoken with Fidel about it. He and Che is my hero, you know. TR: Is he still alive? EM: Che? TR: No, Fidel. EM: Of course. He is in excellent health. I saw him three days ago - he recognized me - which made me feel good. TR: I read that you have your own Ten Commandments. EM: Yes. I am an environmental activist in the heart. I am a naturalist. I want to go back to nature - to become one with the earth - that my Indian ancestors. TR: Does that mean that people no longer will live in the house? EM: There will be no more houses - I plan to destroy them all. Caves and huts of straw is better than the house - a more natural habitat do not you think? TR: Yes, but what about running water? EM: We have plenty of rivers. There is running water. TR: But people are used to indoor plumbing and other amenities .... EM: Not all, just for Europeans. TR: So, how long this transition take? EM: Oh, maybe fifty or sixty years. I'll be long dead. TR: So, why bother if you will not benefit from it? EM: That's what my friend - I do not necessarily want to take advantage of it. It will be my legacy. All great men leave something behind. My legacy will be a clean environment, plenty of land for the cultivation of coca leaves, and the elimination of greed. TR: But greed is an innate human characteristic. EM: Yes, there is an innate quality, I agree, but you forget one thing. TR: What? EM: When I'm done with Bolivia, there will be something to be greedy about. TR: Oh. That reminds me. EM: What? TR: Can I get a beer? EM: That's another thing I'm getting rid of - no more drinking. TR: From where? EM: Right now. TR: What are you drinking? EM: Coca tea. TR: Why not just drink Coca Cola? EM: two reasons: Too much sugar and the capitalist. TR: Do you think your people will join? EM: With The Coca tea? TR: No, with all the changes and sacrifices - no more electricity, indoor plumbing no more, no more brick houses, no more cars, no more airports, no more shopping centers ,.... EM: Please listen to my friend, they chose me to make these changes - of course they will accept them. Furthermore, you really should not be so complacent about this. As soon as oil hits $ 700 a barrel, you will be in exactly the same dilemma. You have your comforts, but no way to pay for them. It will be good - back to nature. No more global warming. TR: Maybe we can buy oil from you. EM: We are not selling. TR: Who are we? EM: President Hugo Chavez and myself. TR: Is he all-encompassing primitivism as well? EM: No, he's just not sell any more oil to you. TR: Why not? EM: All contracts will be bought by Japan, Korea and India. TR: How do you know all this? EM: Here, have some tea. You'll like it. TR: Does this help you to see into the future? EM: What do you think? TR: Just give me a larger cup.

Chinchorro mummies from South America
Mummies are a fascinating way to learn more about the past. mummies contain clues that reveal the habits, diseases and sometimes even the religious beliefs of cultures that are long gone. The thought of mummies usually brings to mind the ancient Egyptians and tombs filled with treasures. However, some of the oldest mummy in the world have not been found in Egypt at all and they were not buried in mass graves. The Chinchorro people of Chile and Peru were making mummies thousands of years before the Egyptians were, and they not only mummified Chinchorro people royalty.The occupied the region of the Atacama desert near the borders of Peru and Chile on the Pacific coast for thousands of years. Their society was simple which was based largely on fishing for food. They apparently had a tremendous respect for their dead and is even mummified their children. Unlike the Egyptians, who mummify the bodies of elite society. The Chinchorro mummies even saved the deceased for unknown periods of time and would involve them in daily activities such as sitting with the family for dinner. They would eventually be three to one hundred buried.Nearly Chinchorro mummies were found in the Atacama desert, since the late. Many of them are the mummies of children and infants. This has researchers to believe that there was a high mortality rate among children of the Chinchorro. They also found that the average life expectancy of the population was about 25 years Chinchorro. They began to mummify their dead around 5050 BC, making it the oldest Chinchorro mummies about 7000 years. The oldest of these mummies were made using the black style of mummification, if the process has progressed in a much simpler style style.Black MummificationIn black style of mummification, the Chinchorro would take the deceased's body completely dismantled . They carefully remove the skin and skeleton band of all tissues and organs and discard. The skeleton is then covered with layers of materials such as clay, reeds and sticks. The skin will then be replaced and any pieces missing or ill-fitting would be replaced by the skin of a dead sea lion then provided with a clay mask with small slits over the eyes be covered in black and equipped with manganese a wig made of human hair.Red MummificationIt Style is estimated that the black style of mummification gave way to red style around 2500 BC The bodies were mummified using the red style is not completely taken out as they have been using the black style. Instead, the brain was extracted by removing the head. Tissue, muscles and internal organs were removed by carefully cutting the skin open and removing the contents of the body. The body was then stuffed roughly the same materials as before. Then, the slices of skin were stitched using a cactus thorn and human hair. They were also given masks and wigs, but the eye holes in masks are larger and there was a hole for the mouth. They were finished with ocher red rather than black-handled manganese.Mud MummificationAround the end of mummification style of the third millennium has given way to red mud plaster. This was by far the easiest of the mummification process used by the Chinchorro. The body would simply be completely dried and was then covered with a layer of mud. The corpse was then buried.Because high rate of mortality among children in the Chinchorro, the researchers were interested to know if there was a cause behind it. They also found that some adult mummies had bones porous and seriously wondered if there was a connection. A parasite has been found in some of the mummies that could have caused severe anemia as it would have made porous bones. It may also have contributed to infant mortality. Another interesting thing that was discovered is a high level of arsenic in some of the hair on mummies. Nothing has been conclusively linked to infant mortality, porous bones, or short life expectancy of the Chinchorro, but these results are interesting, nonetheless.SourcesArriaza, Bernardo & T.
