after years of trying, childhood memories of classic purple iris are made real in this first bloom! ironically I'm thanking the virus for this iris' survival, it's in a place where it's gotten trampled on by basement-show-goers for the past couple years. there aren't many sunny spots around our house and though I had tried to build a little protective fence, they were still subject to drunken feet, and I had been feeling like it wasn't even worth taking care of them :( but in the covid-19 time, there's been space & time for these guys to thrive. no larger lesson here, just the realities of punks v. flowers https://www.instagram.com/p/CAlSGpNnEy_/?igshid=17wyrj45gb9yz
