Today is the last day of polyam awareness week! So we are ending it on a fact vs fiction note.

A lot of people assume that only men want more than one person in a relationship and only men will seek polyam relationships out, this is untrue women are capable of being polyam as well!

Another ask from another anon - what’s the difference between polyamory, polyandry, polygamy and polygyny.

Polyamory

This is commonly referred to as poly; it is ethical/consensual/responsible non-monogomy. It’s “complicated” tends to be an understatement since you can have as many partners as you can love, and your partner’s partner’s partner’s can have as many partners as they can love. It’s a never ending web of awesome.

Polyandry

This is where one woman has two more husbands.

Polygamy

This is where you have more than one wife or husband at the same time.

Polygyny

This is where one man has two or more wives.

All of these relationships are hard and require communication in order to work (as any relationship does).

Why do people think you have to be poly to date a poly person?? You 100% don't have to date other people you just need to be okay with your partner doing so. Like obviously don't date poly people if you want a monogamous partner but being monogamous yourself? Why would that be a deal breaker?
