A few thoughts about this design:

I wanted her to feel kind of angelic, since that has always been the vibe I got from the dimension-hopping ship.

The floating, legless form was also meant to vaguely resemble a mermaid (especially with the long tail). A levitating, water-related creature... to mimic the original version being a flying ship 🌠

And finally, she is taller than the clockwork stars because... I feel like Lor's (as in the ship's) size is more important to its functionality than it is in the case of the clocks? Not sure how much sense it makes, but e.g. Nova in her terrestrial form does not need to be all that big in order to magically grant wishes with her godly powers. But Lor kind of needs to be about this tall to comfortably carry Magolor around. Does this imply she would be even larger if she were bonded with a character bigger than the Egg? Yes, yes it does.

It's ironic how I found it funny that the official art of Nova is missing the globe when I'm constantly forgetting to draw the compass under her left eye... and it's such a neat detail too, because it resembles Cat Whiskers... 😿

A random tumblr thought that I've had for a while now: I've noticed that a big number of artists on this website tend to just kinda... entirely ignore comments that they receive? As an artist myself, there's no other form of feedback I enjoy getting more than a comment (or reblog tags in the case of tumblr specifically, of course), so when I see drawings I find myself especially liking, I try to leave longer, thoughtful comments on them. Perhaps fewer artists care about that than I've always imagined, though, hmm.

Another possibility is them having notifications for comments turned off, which is probably the case for some people. But then again, I recently saw an artist, who previously did not acknowledge nice comments they got at all, very swiftly reply to the sole annoying comment they received...

This is mostly just rambles, but whenever this kinda thing happens, it definitely makes me much less likely to comment on the artist's work again 😶 It's also why I make sure to at least click the heart button on all the nice feedback I get myself, so y'all know your kind words are appreciated 💖 (unless I forget or the notification gets buried, in which case I'm sorry 😭)
