Day 31: Christmas Canon by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Secular Christmas Music Countdown)
And here it is, Christmas Day and the final Christmas song of the countdown! Â To me, nothing sounds more like Christmas Eve or Christmas morning than this song. Â Itâs set to one of my favorite classical pieces.
And hereâs Christmas Canon Rock - an alternate version also by TSO:
Well, this is the end of the Secular Christmas Music Countdown on SecularHolidayFun! Â You can look back on the last 31 days (from the day after Thanksgiving through today) of eclectic, secular holiday tunes from a broad variety of genres.
Check back tomorrow for a special New Year tune!
Day 30: Fairytale of New York by The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl (Secular Christmas Music Countdown)
You never hear this one on the radio, but itâs definitely one of the best Christmas songs ever made.
Thereâs actually a really fascinating documentary about the making of this song -Â https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUSNzqqLFT0&t
Every day from now to Christmas, I will share my favorite Christmas music. Â This will be an eclectic mix of secular-friendly holiday tunes that donât usually play on 24/7 Holiday radio.

Hilarious deconstruction of one of the most irritating Christmas songs out there.
This pretty much sums up how I approach the holidays.
I wish you a spider Christmas and an arachnophobic New Year!
But seriously, doesnât this video soften our hearts toward the eight-legged?
Skeptic on a Stick! Â
An âelfâ for those who do not celebrate...or who have a stick up their bum this time of year.
Day 29: A Great Big Sled by The Killers (Secular Christmas Music Countdown)
Yet another Killers Christmas song, but like I said, I would have added all 10 of them to this countdown if I could. Â I would say, however, that A Great Big Sled is probably my favorite holiday song from them!

Happy Festivus!
Day 28: We Three Kings (Piano/Cello) by The Piano Guys (Secular Christmas Music Countdown)
I love instrumental versions of classic Christmas carols I heard growing up. As an atheist, the lyrics donât mean anything, but I can still appreciate the melodies - especially this masterful rendition by The Piano Guys.

Day 27: Let It Snow by Filous (Secular Christmas Music Countdown)
Itâs the first day of winter today (Happy Winter Solstice!), and this track from Filous just blows my mind. Â I pretty much everything that Filous puts out.

Kirk Cameronâs flick is streaming for free on Amazon Prime, but I just canât bring myself to watch it...

Yep, pretty much sums up how I feel about this thing...and those ever more sinister âSanta Spy Camâ tree ornaments.
Day 26: Christmastime by Smashing Pumpkins (Secular Christmas Music Countdown)
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs! Â And I love the fan-made video that goes along with it!

The anthem for the start of Christmas vacation, and the opening theme song from my favorite Christmas movie!

Day 24: Jolakotturinn (Christmas Cat - Bjork (Secular Christmas Music Countdown)
This is a great Christmas song by Bjork, and I guarantee youâll never hear this on any 24/7 holiday music station. Â Itâs actually fantastic, and while itâs sung in Icelandic, you can read the lyrics.
