when they’re cleaning their feets and spread all their little toes out

when they smelled something weird and make a stinky face

when they walk up to you making little chirpy purrs of inquiry

when they get distracted by a noise mid-lick and a tongue blep occurs

when they see a bird and do that ekekekk thing

when they become possessed by the devil and tear around the house with demonic speed and then pause mid-vicious-attack of a scratching pole to whip their head around and fix you with their all-pupil stare of unhinged terror

breaking in a new doctor like

Doc: “What are your thoughts on losing some weight?” Me: “Meh. It’s not a priority right now.” Doc: “Maintaining a healthy weight is important for your long-term health.” Me: “I’m sure it is. But when your house is burning down, you don’t waste energy on rearranging the furniture.”

Not sure how long this particular doc is gonna last.

some people who are ill and/or disabled CANNOT DO WHATEVER THEY SET THEIR MIND ON! some people are LIMITED by their bodies and their health and they are UNABLE to “"just choose”“ to do something! you can’t STOP being disabled by DECIDING to have a ”“good attitude”“! I am PREVENTED from doing whatever I want because I am D I S A B L E D!!

It’s ok to get upset over your disability and chronic pain sometimes. It’s ok to express frustration. It’s ok to say “hey today is not the best for me.” It took me years to learn this and accept I don’t have to play tough every single day.
