I would still lean pretty heavy onto the uh sequel thingy, no not becuz of the 1449 years but being a sequel makes more sense(? in terms of story me think?) for the whole timeline.
But still, I don't think it's really fucking matter since the devs said they gonna put time travel in which is uh, a meh for me
There would also be prequel, evidence by the God statue down in the Abyss BUUTT i could also be a sequel too since...well, it's not like a religious like that ended in a few hundred years.
I can be another timeline or AU Sothis made too ig but yeah im not really leaning on that thing for now

I think the whole competition is just a side/early story for us to get used to the game and such at first? The whole big BIG story I think it would be between Sothis and the green hair woman summoning shit up:
HEAR ME OUT: maybe the Sothis scene is a flashback, and it has something something with that green hair lady (we can see Sothis 'execute'??? someone and that woman talked about underworld and can summon 'dead'??? people up, so maybe she is undead or whatever the fucks seeking revenge?) idk about the baby but that bundle is irrelevant for now. BUT it might be a flashback (and with three houses trailer they also stuff Seiros's flashback into them trailers too so).
Also THAT IS NOT RHEA, THAT IS NOT RHEA, holy fucks I had existenial crisis when i saw people speculate that is Rhea, NO! You can clearly see that is not her skjfsfbsf. (but if it's her then that's mine and her baby)
Nabateans??? Nabs??? They can be diversed now???
Fuck no I think those are natives to the land/ or other species of dragons that not related to Sothis (or elves idfk anymore). becuzzzz if it's Nabateans then it would retcon everything they established in Houses (the whole hair dying/ and Thales saying smth smth thats there iconic traits).
The pink hair girl and the Divine Soverig- Divine Dimitri is prob not Nabs.
These baddies could be Nabs tho I would put question marks with the evil lady becuzzz her ears are rather long and pointy (which only Sothis has that and her kids have a shorter, rounder one (Sothis just doesnt like her long ears huh?)) so that might be another dragon that dropped from the blue sea star like sothis but took diff side (also her clothes silhouette from behind issss a bit Argathan-ish for me?)
Zanado?
Idt this shit is in Zanado. Becuz Zanado (in the only pic it has in the Houses game) possessed mostly square and very sharp edges kind of structure where in this game they also has round roofs shape .
(The left is Zanado with mega structure and shit) The only thing that can prove it's kinda Zanado is the uh:
A dragon ass appears! (Rhea just keeps getting her white ass beaten somehow/j)
But again, it can't be Zanado. IDK how they do the story but if it's in the era of war of heroes (or after the tragedy or mid tragedy) and before the end of Houses, wasn't Rhea always there? Garreg Mach is fucking close to Zanado dont u think she would look out of the windows when that happened and went "Huh, wtf is going on over there?".
And if sequel (i will talk about this later) and Rhea is in Zanado is she going "not my circus not my monkey" type of shit? (also the dragon has somekind of furry fuzzy white tail on the right part so def not Rhea, she is bald in her dragon form).

I don't think Rhea will appear in this game (yeh def not becuz she isnt a fan fav) but more so her appearance would confirm that Azure Moon is canon (since iirc SS, VW her survival is optional so that doesnt count, CF her ass just got obliterated) and that would be another 20 years of discourse (but it would be funny). i dont think them devs have the balls to do so.
Seteth and Flayn MIGHT appear IF it's a sequel tho. Because from what we discuss (And some infos @/deathbirby offered) the timeline would be like this:
