planar space // concepts

planar space refers to the universe through which ships travel from star system to star system and is the current means of interstellar travel for the bar frybaréc as opposed to traveling through normal space which was tedious, dangerous, and a time-consuming method. it is an alternate universe with two spatial dimensions and one time dimension with different laws of physics than normal space. planar space connects vast distances in normal space with far less space and time traveled. access to planar space is possible through sords ( gates ), however matter not protected by a space-time field ( supflasath ) will be transformed into space-time particles due to the lack of support for the third dimension. abh ships are equipped with space-time generators to create the necessary field/bubble to encase and protect them

space-time particles that exit a sord from plane space are released as visible energy. the streams of space-time particle act as a fluid in plane space and create friction to traveling ships. a ship traveling through plane space ‘displaces’ or disturbs the space-time particle sea which send out mass waves ( sesuwas ) detectable by sensors. mass waves travel indefinitely through plane space. The frequencies and wavelengths of mass waves are fixed in plane space; they overlap and create unavoidable interference. sending space-time particles is the only effective means of communication. however, transmission speed is slow and has very limited range and communication boats or ships are necessary for long-distance communication.

the common measurement for distances is the imperial nautical mile cédlairh and the imperial knot dirgh. one cédlairh is defined as the distance a space-time bubble with a mass of 100 tons travels in perfect motion in one second of plane-space time. one dirgh is the velocity at which it is possible to travel one cédlairh in one hour of plane-space time.

the ever-expanding humankind empire of the abh is in direct opposition to the galra empire. lafiel serves as a diplomat in addition to her duties as bomoüass (hecto-commander) of the assault ship flicaubh in the war.

the humankind empire of the abh is, however, not unlike the galra empire in structure and ideals. both are powerful interstellar countries, and much like the galra, the humankind empire of the abh seeks to assimilate planets into its ranks to expand its already hefty population of 900 million. however the abh empire is decidedly passively neutral; that is, they do not align with other interstellar counties nor do they declare war upon them in the first place.

however.

the abh empire always refuses all alliance offers from others. the reason for this is that the abh believe the relationships of countries never last forever, and also in terms of power, it is not necessary for the empire to sign a treaty to support herself. while the empire is diplomatic, it is not keen on diplomacy itself.

the abh empire will not join the voltron coalition or any such alliance.

the humankind empire of abh demands surrender, not alliances, and there will be no peace in war until one side is beaten.

in regards to foreign policy, the empire does not allow foreign ships to stop at star systems under its control, but there are trade ports for interstellar exchange. the empire annexes any colonies that do not have interstellar plane-space technology.

addendum;

the abh empire exists in a separate reality where their numbers are approximately 900 billion. in their ever-advancing technology and use of sords and travel through planar space, they are able to pass through the rift. however, the abh have not yet drawn this conclusions and when initially attacked by galra patrols have entered into another war.
