Liko followed, trying to calm herself, why was she so nervous and embarrassed around Amethio. Amethio was thinking the same thing about Liko, had something changed between them? A couple of minutes later they arrived at Amethio’s campsite. “We are here,” he said shyly, letting her walk in front of him to see the campsite. “It’s nice…” Liko replied softly, looking around the campsite. “Oh, um, thanks…” Amethio stammered, slightly embarrassed of Liko’s compliment. They stood there awkwardly for a couple of minutes, neither of them sure of what to say. “Well…” he started, “Want to talk?” Liko looked up at him, “Oh, I’m sorry,” she said, turning red, “Yes, we can talk.” “Alright….” Amethio replied, leading her to a place where they could sit down. Liko followed him nervously, was she really going to tell him what she was feeling? They both sat down and Liko took some calming breaths. Amethio noticed this, “You don’t have to talk about it if you are not comfortable doing so,” he said quietly, he was nervous as well. “No… It’s alright,” Liko replied, also quietly, “I should talk about it….” “Ok…” Amethio said, “Whenever you're ready…” It was a couple minutes before Liko started talking again. “Do you ever have…..” she started, pausing slightly from her nervousness. “Have what?” Amethio asked, worried slightly. “D-dark t-thoughts…” Liko’s voice shook a bit as she said this. “Dark thoughts!?” Amethio’s eyes widened, he sounded scared. Liko gulped, “Yes…” she continued, “It’s been hard, ever, ever since F-fri-,” she stopped, trying not to cry. Amethio reached over and grabbed her hand, “I understand,” he said quietly, “You don’t have to say it.” A few tears slid down Liko’s face, her emotions getting the better of her. Amethio hated seeing her sad and gave her a hug (ignoring how nervous and embarrassed he was). “I-I s-should h-have s-saved h-him…. I-It’s a-all m-my f-fault….” Liko said, crying harder, “S-spinel’s w-won…. I-I c-can’t d-do a-anything t-to d-defeat h-him…” Amethio just hugged Liko harder. “It’s not your fault, so much was going on,” he said softly, “And we can still defeat Spinel, he hasn’t won yet.” Liko cried for a bit before calming down slightly, “I’m s-sorry, I s-shouldn’t burden y-you with t-this…” she said, even quieter than before. “It’s ok, you're no burden to me” Amethio said, turning red as he pulled away from her. “Alright…” Liko said, looking at the ground. “Do you feel better after talking about it?” Amethio asked, looking down at the ground as well. Liko thought for a little bit, “I… do…” she admitted, looking into his eyes, “Thank you…” “Oh, well, you’re welcome…” Amethio stammered, looking away and turning even more red. “I should get back to the ship,” Liko said quietly, “See you around….?” “Ok…” Amethio replied quietly as he watched her walk away from the camp. “I’ll miss you..” he said quietly enough so she didn’t hear him. I’ll miss him…. Liko thought as she walked back to the ship.
