with everything that’s been going on in riverdale recently, there hasn’t been much time to sit back && relax. tonight, however, is a different matter. archie && lianna are sitting at the highest hill in riverdale, very late at night, heads tilted upwards to take in the sky. the stars overhead are beautiful && extra bright tonight -- the air is cool, && archie takes off his jacket to slide it around her shoulders. perhaps she doesn’t need it, but he figures tonight can be an excuse to go back to the way things were. right now he’s just a boy, being a gentleman to the girl he’s spending time with. he can almost forget the DARKNESS settling over their small town. he leans back in the grass, a light chuckle escaping his lips. ‘ y’know...this is nice. feels like a good little escape from everything.’

It took her a moment to realize what was happening, someone started housting before her eyes even had a chance to take in the full scene. Her eyes were stuck on the bloodied being across the alley from her and the stranger. Elektra only cared that it was getting closer, running up to the dark haired stranger she grabbed her arm trying to pull her towards the side walk.

  “Come on!” She pleaded, fear was beginning to take over as her eyes stayed on the creature. When it took a step closer her hand flew up trying to protect them but in return the thing hit the wall simultaneously. Only for a moment did her eyes flash their demonic shape but as she turned to face the woman now next to her the faded back to her usual mundane. “What the fuck dude–”

everything happens faster than maia is able to react, which says a lot considering she’s a werewolf - the woman is pulling her back, && then the vampire hits the wall hard. she takes the opportunity to pounce forwards despite the other’s protests && pin the vampire to the ground, claws hovering by his throat && eyes flashing green. ‘ what the HELL are you doing here? ’ her words come out as a menacing growl, grip tightening around the creature’s throat as his eyes widen in fear. ‘ who sent you? your kind aren’t welcome at the hunter’s moon. ’ 

“please.” he whispers. “let me go. i won’t come back!” well how about that, maia thinks. a vampire begging for mercy at the hands of a wolf. somehow, that’s satisfying enough for her. loosening her grip, she rises && the vampire flees, vanishing into the shadows of the alley. waiting a few moments for her claws to retract && her eyes to return to normal, she turns to the other woman, eyebrows raising. ‘ you must be a warlock, huh? gotta be, considering that little move you pulled there. nice going. ’

dillan can sense the stress, he can smell it all around her. it’s overwhelming to say the least. it’s the only thing he can smell, the overbearing amount of stress radiating off of her. he sucks in a light breath and nods his head, teeth biting down on his lower lip. “okay. uh, hang on.” he takes a minute so that he can think of places that she can go. “there’s a little coffee shop just down the block on your first right. i think it has chargers there? if it doesn’t — you could always borrow mine?” though his phone wasn’t really to be desired, it was a crappy one he’d gotten from the corner store.

clary’s trying to think fast, come up with some sort of excuse that doesn’t sound like a blatant LIE - but she’s never been good at deceiving, && she hopes it’s a skill she’ll pick up as time goes on. she tries for a smile, but it’s clearly a nervous one, && she’s looking over her shoulder as if half-expecting her mother to come running through a crowd of mundanes with luke by her side && a look that can kill on her features. she turns back to the boy in front of her, && suddenly has an idea. ‘ would you mind showing me? i’m...sort of not in the best head-space right now && i tend to wander too far alone. ’ plus, if she’s with a mundane, she’ll blend in a lot more. ‘ then if they don’t have chargers, i can definitely use your phone. i’m clary, by the way. ’ this time the smile is genuine.

rose never wanted to let him go, everything about this felt so familiar. for the first time in years she felt as though she belonged, as though she was finally where she was meant to be. the longing and desperation for him showed in the way her body clung on to his. taking a step back, she felt her smile faltering as the next question escaped his lips.

“he –” rose stopped for a moment, all this time she had thought about how this conversation would go. but now the moment had arrived, everything went blank. but the memories flashed through her mind, like bolts of lightening attacking her body. “he — well he – he died.”

a lot of MIXED emotions go through him at that moment -- guilt, sadness, anger, confusion. there’s so many that he’d argue they are what gave the idea for his nickname, the oncoming storm. his emotions come like a tidal wave, but smooth out faster. ‘ i’m---i’m so sorry... ’ it’s not his fault, that’s true, but the doctor knows how much pain she must have been in, && that is something he’ll always feel responsible for. he reaches for her hands && takes them in his, squeezing softly as a gesture of comfort && trying to read her facial expression.

‘ that’s why you came back... ’ he murmured, chewing on his lip. ‘ how exactly did you get back? i assume the cannon, but...how on earth did you get it working again? ’ the doctor’s voice is not that of a lecturer, however -- he’s being very gentle, because despite the fact that she could have ripped a hole in the fabric of the universe, he’s so glad to see her it doesn’t even MATTER.

dillan is definitely harmless. there’s not a spiteful bone in his body. he couldn’t hurt anyone even if he had to, even if it meant saving his own life. the entire opposite of his sister, it seemed. even though they were raised in the same house with the same rules, the same life… dillan had still come out differently to her. his hands press down against his thighs and he lets out a nervous, shaky, breath. “okay — well, i mean … i don’t want to overstep or step on anyone’s toes. i just … need somewhere to stay for a day.” he would make absolutely certain that he didn’t stay any longer. “are—are you sure? i don’t want to invade your space or anything.”

her eyes narrow as she takes him in again, trying to read his BODY LANGUAGE. he seems nervous -- though that’s to be expected. hostile or not, in someone else’s territory, anything can happen. the unexpected is perhaps the scariest thing. ‘ you wouldn’t be. ’ allison says simply, folding her arms. ‘ as long as you have no ulterior motive... ’ she puts extra emphasis on those words for better effect. ‘ then you have nothing to be afraid of. besides, scott won’t be able to talk to you until tomorrow. he can come over to my place tomorrow morning. ’ she’s acting a lot more calmly than she actually feels, but nonetheless -- despite how reckless this idea is -- she believes it’s the best option to balance being decent && being safe.

‘ okay, now THAT’S weird.’ an old, creepy abandoned house is one thing. he doesn’t mind exploring in these kinds of places – it’s nice to be freaked out, in a way. even if it’s in a slightly immature way. but when they find the secret basement, things take a turn for the weird. glancing at cheryl for a moment, archie makes his decision && reaches out to turn the doorknob of the hidden basement they’ve found. the door gives easily && swings open. ‘ looks like things are about to get interesting. ’ without a second thought nor a glance behind him to see if cheryl’s following, archie fumbles for the light switch && starts making his way down the stairs, adrenaline pulsing through his veins along with slight dread && immeasurable curiosity.

     a smile made its home on her lips at the polite introduction, and she nodded, ❝ a pleasure to meet you, as well. and to answer your question, no it’s not. it’s actually two syllables. ❞ she shook her head, silently shaming americans.

     she may tell him one of her names eventually, but that time is clearly not now. ❝ perhaps i’ll tell you when it becomes a matter of knowing. ❞

     she notes his second question, her smile returning. ❝ well… i’m actually not at liberty to tell you what i’ve been up to, so let’s just say i had a little bit of a contract with the big guy upstairs. it was a job i low-key hated doing, but now it’s over and i’m free to do as i want.❞ she smiled and paused to drink some more water, ❝ i had no idea i’d be getting back into hunting, but it’s far more useful than just wandering aimlessly. in the end, i’m glad i could help you take care of that mess back there. ❞

     she’s also quite impressed with his own skills, since she has actually not met many humans who fight demonic forces and monsters, that is, outside of religious figures like exorcists. ❝ you were quite impressive out there, yourself. may i ask how long you’ve been a hunter? ❞

CURIOSITY is clear as day on his features - rarely does dean show his true emotions, unless they are hard to contain. but this is mild - sitting in a diner, having a n o r m a l conversation for once - it’s proving to be very relaxing. he sips at his coffee && shrugs his shoulders. ‘ americans will be americans, i s’pose. ’

dean pauses at the question, because he himself has to remember when EXACTLY all this started. he’d like to say he’s been one all his life, but that’s not true. he started very young - he’s been taught the way since he was old enough to talk. ‘ too many years to count. ’ he says, quietly, though it’s not as if he doesn’t know the answer. ‘ family business - been brought up with this stuff. it ends up rubbing off on you in the end.’ he tilts his head slightly, eyebrow raising slightly at her.

‘ so you were out of the business for a while, then? ’ he can’t help being even more curious, despite the fact that it’s clearly a subject that she’s not comfortable talking about. ‘ i’m glad you could too. usually i can keep it under control, with my brother’s help, but this time we were OUTNUMBERED. we both really appreciate the help. ’ he has to keep up some f a c a d e that he doesn’t need anyone’s help - it’s always been like that. dean hates admitting he needs other people.

but in this situation, saying thank you && for once appreciating someone else lending a hand isn’t such a bad thing.
