The task of creating a pinned introductory post has always been intimidating to me because I don't know how to make it aesthetically pleasing, and I don't know what to include, so I'll leave this here and dress it up later.

Hi! I'm Caeldan. I'm a 23 year old alterhuman, my kintype being drow or dark elf.

I'm a reconstrictionist Jew who's trying to strengthen my ties to the community after being raised pretty agnostic and/or atheist for a long time. I live alone in adulthood, so I don't frequently get to enjoy the collaborative nature of the practice.

I identify as pangender and/or genderfluid, but specifically in the way that my gender will shift to reflect those around me. I'm intersex, and because of that I call myself transfemme and transmasc at the same time for different reasons.

I'm also struggling with my sexuality in that I believe I'm on the asexual and aromantic spectrum somewhere, but also possibly multisexual with a preference towards masculinity. I call myself optimistic to spare energy. I'm polyamorous as well, and I consider that a part of my identity, whereas non-monogamous is more my relationship status.

I'm undiagnosed in.... pretty much every aspect of life right now. I experience what feels like chronic pain, and I use a cane most often, though I own a rollator for worse days. I'm not sure what's going on with me, but it's an ongoing effort to find out. I'm also plural though so throwing that into the mix doesn't help. I'm actively working to navigate that too without instinctively masking everything. Masking has been making everything a lot worse, believe it or not.

This is going to be a pretty eclectic blog of stuff because I don't care enough to make sideblogs, so below will be a list of tags to help both me and you find things:

I have had so many perisex trans people ask me explicitly "what are your genitals like?" how is that okay?? it happens equally with both cis and trans perisex people!

Best way to be an ally to intersex people is if you see something, SAY SOMETHING!

Someone using hermaphrodite, baeddel, futanari? (all slurs against us).. Say something.

Someone misunderstanding what intersex means? (thinks it bigenital, think its a 'third sex', etc).. Say something.

Someone thinks intersex people can't be trans, cant have an AGAB, have an 'easier' time transitioning, etc? Say something.

The only way for social change to occur is if you put in the leg work to call stuff out when you see it. If you are unsure, ask questions (to intersex people..) about what you're unsure about then regroup. Education is power. Peace and love.

I think we should talk about the transmedicalist idea that "transness is a neurological intersex variation" is explicitly using the standard of intersex medical abuse for the purpose gaining access to medical transition for perisex trans people. This stance directly states that being trans is intersex; and that intersexuality should be treated as a medical problem.

You do not need to reinforce our pathologization to justify your existence.

I really hate the way some perisex trans people will disregard intersex voices in trans issues unless the intersex person is also a trans woman (and often they disregard intersex trans women too); Those of intergender are only listened to if they disclose their sex assignment, at which point they can be labeled as Sort Of Trans or Basically Just Cis by perisex people, and from there they are either given vague platitudes or told to fuck off. (Note, I am using intergender as an umbrella term for general intersexuality-influenced gender identity in this context)

There are plenty of intersex people with relevant life experience being marginalized under cisnormativity & patriarchy in similar ways. We just often prefer to use labels that aren't as clear cut as cisgender or transgender, because these labels were not made for us and we are often excluded from any community perisex people try to shove us into.

This idea that only intersex trans women have valuable input on oppression dynamics is just telling intersex people who have made their own labels & spaces that they don't matter unless they categorize themselves in a way perisex people find acceptable.
