A landscape with a goat by Gerrit Dou (Dutch, 1613β1675)
i pray i marry a man who sees me as a blessing. a man who's biggest fear is losing me. a man who is gentle with me. a man who will be obsessed with me for decades like when he wakes up in the morning, sees me in wrinkles and gray hair, but still falls for me all over again.

Isn't it interesting how Time doesn't really "pass"? Time simply is. It sits there, unmoving yet unyielding β like a landscape β while we stroll, sprint, and stumble through the vastness of it.
We often imagine Time as something that flows, something that slips through our fingers, but perhaps it's more like terrain: endless, constant, neutral and indifferent.
We chart our lives across it, measure change against it, and yet it remains untouched. We grow older, we move on, we leave things behind β but Time stays. It doesn't rush to outrun us or linger to comfort us.
And maybe thatβs why it feels so elusive β because we expect it to move with us, and yet, it's motionless. Time doesnβt pass. We do.

love when men are big and strong but really gentle and calm
she asked me if i believed in god and i told her that when i was four i almost drowned in a public pool and in my panic mistook a stranger for my father. i clawed my way up his leg. four years later heβd send my parents a picture of the scars alongside a tin of cookies. he said, βi hope sheβs still okay. i carry her with me. it isnβt every day you save a life. it isnβt every day you feel like you were here for a reason. when it does happen, you have to cherish that memory. for once, i had a purpose. just being there was enough. she tore me open but she taught me a lot about love.β
What fascinates me is how art and literature become the philosopherβs stone that alchemizes passing moments into timeless monuments β crystallizing the ephemeral into the eternal, turning the personal into the universal.
