What are these wires doing here, strewn about the place. WHAT A MESS.
Ok, so it’s like a logic puzzle, but, basically, I have several icons for the puzzle boards in the game; it’s now a matter of keeping track of the locations where the icons are first introduced, and where two icons first appear on the same board. As to avoid repetition or missing out on possibilities. Although, at the moment, there are 8 different icon types. So, that’s about 2^8 - 1 different puzzle types. Oh shit.
Just like the Witness, i’ll be showing some snapshots of the island as the game develops. After sharpening the image. Then blurring it. Then rotoprocessing and hashing, unhashing and flipping it upsidedown. I don’t think some of those processes are real.

When a new scene is loaded, don’t destroy the GameManager (GM) and set the current GM to this GM. But, if the current GM is not this GM, destroy this GM and replace it with the new GM. This works because the GM is set as a Public Static variable, which means its persistent throughout the entire Universe.

On Button Maps
There is an shear wall of creativity in button maps. This I realised eight hours ago when I thought I’d start an easy morning programming in the Input commands for the player.
HyperLikeDrifter doesn’t have many inputs: The player needs to be able to turn lights on and off, zoom in and out the camera and be able to change the puzzle. And move the player, of course. And the camera. And pause and quicksave. And warp. And also select a paint bucket of four colours: Red, Green, Blue and White. Arg.
Assume the player is using an Xbox controller, the button map looks like this:
Move: Left Analogue Stick Camera: Right Analouge Stick Zoom: LT and RT Light control: LB (Off) and RB (On) Colour controls: X, Y, B, A Pause: Start Map/Inventory: Select
Seems like an obvious solution, right? Well fuck you, that took me eight hours.
Ok, look, there’s an awesome rope bridge GIF here. I didn’t have time to convert the sprite sheet into a GIF, but just imagine how awesome this rope bridge is. Just picture it unfurling, allowing the player to move onwards through the game, giving the true feeling of progress. Wow.
