good morning to people who are touch-starved, bitches who put their shit on sock-sock shoe-shoe, people who desperately need to get railed, everyone who is not making a new year’s resolution, people who don’t go to bed until after 12, all the bitches not getting kissed at midnight next week, people who cannot swim, and as always, bad bitches who wear glasses
“Once you get [money, fame, and a sense of calling], all other things start to feel really valuable. Those who don’t have them would find them really special. I think it’s just a continuous repetition of that. So for me, there’s a fear of whether I’m faithfully living the story of my life to the fullest, 100%” — Kim Namjoon, Break the Silence the Movie

were you in an artist’s top 0.5% of listeners or are you normal
I noticed when I was a kid that adults seem to forget that everything is real, no matter how young you are. A seven year old doesn’t feel like a helpless infant, they feel the oldest and most mature they’ve ever felt. And they will when they turn eight, too. And nine. Twenty. Thirty. Fifty.
You never feel as young as you are, because you’re always the oldest you’ve been. You can only look back and equate childhood with ignorance and silliness, because there were things you didn’t know then. But there are things you don’t know now, too, that someone older is looking down at you for.
I promised myself I would never forget that, growing up. I put it in a time capsule when I was nine because I wanted to be certain. And sometimes it slips away, and I catch myself scoffing at people younger than me, but you have to fight that. You have to hold on. You have to keep a little bit of your younger mind inside you, so you don’t forget.
I think that’s important.
Remember that you’ll always change, but know that the person you’ll become isn’t going to be any more real than the person you are, or the person you were. They’re still going to feel like You.
when mitski said "and i was so young when i behaved twenty five yet now i find ive grown into a tall child", when hozier said "when i was a child, i heard voices some would sing and some would scream" and when taehyung said "i don't really know where it started going wrong. since i was young, inside my head a blue question mark"
Omg me
I love the way this part of blue&grey doesnt have specified pronouns in korean, so it can be read as talking about the singer or about the listener. It matches so perfectly with what Tae said he wanted the song to do 🥺
bts making history, exposing xenophobia
This is absolutely insane how BTS got two songs on Billboard Hot #100 at 1 and 3 positions.
A Korean Band made it to Billboard Hot #1 with a Korean Song. Life Goes On is going to be written down in history.
Not only that all songs on their album BE charted on World Digital Charts in top 10 position, even a skit (which was just their raw conversation about getting a Billboard Hot 1 and yoongi swearing).
Which reminds me of Dynamite. Dynamite was the first song that got Billboard #1 but Life Goes on makes me feel prouder of BTS for two reasons:
1) Life Goes on is in Korean.
2) BTS members have the writing credits for Life Goes On.
What is xenophobic is how Dynamite, which was their only all English song, got so many radio spins but Life Goes On got little to no spins.
Dynamite was called inorganic because of the remixes it had and their achievement was belittled calling it an "inorganic" hit.
Now, Life Goes On, is on Billboard Hot #1 without any remixes, radio spins or bundles. This is literally a smack in everybody's face who questioned their achievements and this is them exposing the xenophobia in the music industry.
Music indeed transcends language barriers if you aren't xenophobic.
ngl it’s bittersweet that out of all the bts songs, Dynamite, a full English song & none of the members participated in producing/writing, was their first song to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and now to receive a Grammy nomination
Let's think of this as a stepping stone, a way for more and more people to be introduced to BTS's discography. I'm manifesting that in the upcoming years they'll achieve even greater things with BE and their songs in korean that they personally wrote and produced. FIGHTING
This post aged like fine wine
life goes on debuting at #1 really shows them how they can get the same achievements with a non-english song they‘ve written & produced themselves. their music really transencds languages 🥺
yoongi and hoseok are the first Korean songwriters to now have TWO writing credits on the #1 hot 100 chart..... literally who is doing it like em........
THIS CAN’T BE REAL!! THIS IS IMPRESSIVE & HILARIOUS AT THE SAME TIME!! IT GETS FUNNIER WHEN YOU FIND OUT THAT BTS ARE NOW MAKING A SERIES WITH MAPLESTORY. IT WENT FULL CIRCLE.
Namjoon was literally a nerd by day who was at the top of his school ranking and a feared underground rapper by night. He picked a risky path following music when he was doing great at school (with an IQ of 148) and his future was very promising. But he chose his passion: music.
When asked if he wanted to go SOLO or BTS, he didn’t hesitate to start a team with his own rival (Yoongi who at the start just wanted to be a producer for the label) and his biggest fanboy (Jungkook, who left bigger agencies who approached him just to follow Namjoon and debut under a small company). Today RM (Namjoon) is the leader of the biggest boy group in the world and his company is the biggest entertainment company in S.korea. He taught himself how to produce music by watching YouTube videos (and today his songs are huge hits and The Korea Music Copyright Association attributes over 160 songs to him as a songwriter and composer). He also taught himself English by only watching a sitcom ‘Friends’ (and he sounds as if he lived his whole life in the US). Rather than loud clubs and even thought he is very rich today, he prefers going to art galleries and reading books or even riding a bicycle as he appreciates nature the most. He even has plants he takes care of and took classes just to learn how to help them grow. Aaand on top of being so talented, he is handsome, tall, funny, kind and compassionate????
WHAT FREAKING ANIME HERO IS THIS? Well… That’s BTS’ LEADER For Ya!
