oh my gosh I was writing a fic set in the 80s and I wanted a character to play a certain song for another so I had to put in a line that was like "the tape picked up right where he'd left it off at the start of ___song" so the reader knew I wasn't an idiot about how tapes worked lol like. no no don't worry. he already put in the work off screen.
